  1. The odd thing about Derby is that it has decent bits and less decent bits but they're all kind of mashed in together. I have no reason to go back other than for football so it's always interesting. A couple of highlights from my previous visit were to go to the the Silk Mill and Dolphin pubs rather than the Standing Order! That was nice. Even went to the Neptune for the first time, that was interesting. The Museum of making is absolutely brilliant and a nostalgic trip down Normanton Road I loved, we always go down there and do a great big larder shop when we're back.

If you're looking for places with few positives, Swansea is hard to beat, truly terrible. Holyhead is possibly the bottom of the ladder though.

Just read that Louie Sibley has passed his driving test, its easy to forget how young some of these players are

when you are watching them week in and out for years.

Makes you realize just how well they have progressed into the first team!

Congrats,  keep up the good work

In fairness, I was 45 when I passed my test, do you reckon I could still make it?

I look at the evidence and then form a conclusion.  Derby County have struggled to score goals for 3 seasons now. Perhaps the remarkable stats of the last 3 away games are just an unlucky fluke based on a number of factors or maybe there’s a more palpable reason. I just look at the logical possibilities and flag the most likely, based on evidence.

You could always watch the game to form a conclusion, just saying.

Well in very simple terms a bit like the three amigos , a club like derby brings in very good income ,if you come in and buy it , take money out/ don’t put any in or pay bills and can manage to get away with it for a year or two before it hits the fan then you are quids in

Different times though - The three amigos didn't have to put in much money in order to take money out. The purchaser would have had to put in, buy way of a guess, £40m of dirty money to launder, take a hell of a lot to take that out of a post admin football club. I don't think CK's money was dirty though he may have been trying to use inappropriately!

Dosnt matter how much you discuss at the pub, its not going to change things, im not being hypocritical, just trying to be positive after all only played 4 games.

Positivity is a great thing, it is a force for good. You won't find many successful people who have a negative or pessimistic approach to life. As I've said before, we're going to lose games this season, games we think we should be winning, just like life, it's how you respond to those setbacks that matter.

And we've ended up trying to defend a perfectly good away point!

But isn’t results-driven thinking exactly what has allowed us to build a highly competitive squad?

It is easy to see we have been able to retain many of our young players and attract new signings who could have joined clubs in the Championship because they want to be part of a winning project.

Players want to win games, not style points. They see the possibility of promotion, the possibility of a Wembley occasion if we do well in the EFL Trophy, the possibility of playing in front of 25,000 crowds every other week.

You can’t sell that idea to players if results are secondary to philosophy. Results matter and keep fans coming through the turnstiles and entice players who wouldn’t normally join.

Rosenior is going to have to prioritise results at some point, especially because internally, players and staff are talking about promotion.

Having a philosophy and building an ethos is great, but the way we’ve built our squad lends itself to a quick promotion and a need for results.

If we were going for a slow and steady rebuild, I think we would have reached out to an entirely different profile of player.

You appear to have inferred a lot from whatever interviews etc players have given, I reached a different conclusion from what they've been saying. I heard many of them talking about a project, it's been mentioned many times. A 'project' certainly doesn't suggest a mentality that demands immediate results, quite the opposite, I'm not quite sure how you convince ever entitled fans of the project mentality so I guess we're just going to have to put up with some disappointment.

Its nauseating to see all the criticism after 4 games, with a squad that has had so many  forced changes.

The squad and the manager are doubtless able to improve but the unwelcome truth may be that we don't have strikers who are good enough- and that is most likely due to financial constraints.

Exactly the word I was thinking this morning, I genuinely don't understand the negative mentality. So frustrating that the immense positivity that came in July, lasted about 2 weeks in to the season. As I posted earlier, I can only think of the sense of entitlement that some have but this board does seem particularly infected with this negativity.

We don't really have a bowler to come in and blast the tail out, Scrimshaw maybe, but obviously he's elsewhere. Only one team ever winning this from the moment they lost their 5th wicket, but it's taking longer than you'd hope.

Yeah, dragged on a bit. BUT, if we can keep hold of these bowlers, this is going to be a serious attack at county level.

When you sponsor something, i.e. a football club shirt, you are looking for higher interest in your company or product, with, hopefully higher sales.

I worked in the Middle East & South East Asia for 22 years, in the aviation and oil industries, which included Rolls Royce and BP, and I can assure you Rolls Royce is a very well known company throughout the aviation and automotive world, however, I never heard of anyone wanting to buy a £5 million jet engine, because they had previously seen a logo on a shirt.

That's simply not always the case - An example - When American Express started sponsoring Brighton's stadium and then their shirts, it was nothing to do with issuing more cards or getter greater revenue. It was an investment in the city where they employ 2,000 people, it involved partnering with the club on community based initiatives etc etc. I suspect Lotus at Norwich would be exactly the same, there will be other examples.
