Ilkestonian reacted to Topram in Anyone else had enough?
Properly get pelters for this as 80% seem to have made their mind up over Warne, but anyone else just had enough with the constant negativity towards the players and staff? It’s relentless.
Even after last nights win I’m seeing people try and twist it negatively, overall last night we played faster tempo had chances and won end off, so why the negativity?
Warnes come out and said last night about blocking outside noise out, really think knocking them will help? It’ll only make it worse, 5 in 11 for Collins decent return, what’s booing him and giving him stick going to do? Why can’t we get behind them? We’re in league 1 we won’t have world beaters that will do everything so perfectly.
1 defeat in 10 due to some terrible refereeing it’s not anywhere near as bad as people are making out, it’s as if we’ve won 1 in 10.
I can be as negative as anyone and as annoyed as anyone when we drop points etc but it’s the bigger picture move on we go again, It’s not an easy league like people expect, Sunderland sheff united Ipswich Bolton etc all got stuck for time, and probably only Bolton started in a worse rebuild situation as us…
it’s absolutely draining all the constant ‘get him gone’ ‘whose next’ ‘he’s just a P.E teacher’ I’ve missed 1 away game and 1 home and it’s honestly making me not want to go, Blackpool people singing ‘warne your football is sh*t’ then 5 minutes later singing his name, honestly think if people stop over reacting and seemingly wanting Warne to fail we could get out of this league this year. Rant over roll on the draining stick that’ll come…

Disgraceful behaviour and must be close to corruption - var should be scrapped if it can't guarantee impartiality and independence.

Ilkestonian reacted to Ewe Ram in Is Warne plotting a cunning plan
It’s not that, it’s been done to death. Every other comment is an insult about the manager, mostly by some bore who thinks they’re witty.
abuse is not ok, not even football managers.

Another excuse for a load of boring abuse towards him.

Would it be worth opening another area on the forum like say the Jim smith room ect which is the warne out room where people can open endless warne out threads under countless headings ?

I don't know about Mr Clowes patience, but isn't it about time these stupid repeat new threads were deleted by the mods?

Ilkestonian reacted to Chester40 in Warne: what would it take?
The whole debate is being skewed by the constant harping of a minority.
To such an extent that I'm being positioned as a happy clapper, Warne-loving fanboy .... when actually I consider myself pretty neutral.
I don't subscribe to the narrative of the hoofball that is being pedalled. I've been to a few games and watched all but 1 or 2 of the other games and we can be fairly direct but it's nothing like what is being repeatedly claimed.
The derision about him being a PE teacher is ludicrous, do fans think all the other managers are Professors of Football? I have 2 friends who were managed by Warnock back in the day and they both said he was a decent bloke who had a good way about him but tended to favour certain players. No eulogies, no mention of him being a master technician or a chin-stroking football philosopher.
We are right in the play off picture, win our game in hand and we are 7 points from automatic promotion with 3/4s of a season left.
Players to come back...let's just see how we are doing at Christmas before we press panic and start the whole process again.
I'm taking a break from posting now about the football as it's become pointless just answering the same 'facts' over and over.

Ilkestonian reacted to Chester40 in Signing Of The Season So Far???
The evidence is there for all his critics to see.
Fornah, Nyambe, Nelson...are all physically strong, powerful athletes. Decent age and experience. They look great.
Bradley is big unit who is growing in confidence again and Washington is a little dynamo who will come good. The wing backs look decent too.
It's what is particularly annoying about certain posters - that after 2 or 3 games they were slating the new players and the manager, yet they don't like it when someone criticises their ludicrous impatience.

You’d argue if we won the Champions League 😂

Ilkestonian got a reaction from EssendonRam in Warne: what would it take?
I'm in the give him till the end of the season camp but I might change my mind if we start to get drawn into a relegation battle which I don't think we will. Not that I'm comparing him at all to Brian Clough but it's worth remembering that in his first season with us we finished lower in the league than the season before and I for one am very happy that the board didn't have a knee jerk response and sack him at that point.

And how many goals and points did this superior Carlisle side get?

Ilkestonian reacted to MaltRam in Derby v Carlisle (A) Match Thread
What the blooming Nora am I reading on here? For one, compared to some games thus season, I thought we carried more pace and threat.
We also won. Got a clean sheet. Nyambe looks a player. Sibbers was back. Our centre forward got four goals this week. Fornah showed a bit more. Nat had a few blistering runs.
I've been critical of Warne at times, but for gawds sake let's look at what actually happens with an open mind, rather than decide first and look to find evidence to support our preconceptions.
We won. Florist lost. Get a pint down yer.

Ilkestonian reacted to Terry Hennessy in Derby v Carlisle (A) Match Thread
Hmmmm.... a mixed bag again today. Happy with the 3 points and clean sheet.
I think we need bodies back in midfield which is where we struggle... Embleton now injured again, Tommo out, Bird out, Hourihane out. Both Sibley and NML had poor games for me today and also Waggy struggled to get into the game. So i thought midfield is where we weren't quite right again. But as the saying goes "success breeds success" .. .so hopefully our season will kick on.... but as I said I feel we need more from a depleted midfield.
I've got to say that whilst I agree we're not playing brilliantly I don't get all the negativity on this board...

If I remember right, Carlisle closed that stand earlier this season after their own fans caused some trouble. I think they've opened it up again now though.

Ilkestonian reacted to Alty_Ram in Serial Whingers Notts Forest playtime, which we simply cannot accept.
As you know, given the very limited opportunities to make any money at this level, I believe that financially its very much worth getting to Wembley and winning, so on that score yeah, I'd be happy to win it. Until that stage though it's just a worrying opportunity to pick up injuries in an already fairly congested calendar. That said, after having so many players out with various injuries, it's actually proving a useful way of getting some minutes for players returning.

Ilkestonian reacted to i-Ram in Thursday 21 Sept 2023 - Warne free day
Please, can we have one day, tomorrow, where not one post is made about Paul f****** Warne. If you think him great or s****, let’s just have one bloody day on this forum where we can discuss something different. Just one day. It’s doing my head in coming on here and every thread is about him. Thank you.

Ilkestonian reacted to Gerry Daly in Who enjoys Warne's football poll?
I voted no but I remember that I hated the pointless possession for possessions sake football under Clement and Cocu more. Remember how we would work it up one wing, get to level with the penalty area then turn and play it back then across the box via it going all the way back to the centre halves and then up the other wing to the edge of the box then repeat? Keep it, keep recycling it then lose it. Never shooting, never creating any chances. We would go a half and at half time think we haven’t had a single attempt on goal.
There has to be a happy medium between that rubbish and the stuff Warne is now serving up. The sort of football that Steve McLaren played.

Ilkestonian reacted to Premier ram in Match Thread: vs Bolton (A)
I have just spent the best part of 100 minutes supporting our lads at the game in very difficult circumstances , to come on here and read some of the remarks continually made against the manager and most of the players I really do despair , I get the fact we are all fans but the constant digging by some posters is wearing very thin
