People criticize Mel, but when you look down the road and see the type of people who have taken over the Gumps, everyone should be very grateful for what we have. 

If we don't sign Dursun or another forward before the looming international transfer window deadline, the next cutoff becomes 16 October before which time Premier League clubs and EFL clubs can trade or loan players. Because there are limits on squad sizes, I'd expect there will be decent strikers to choose from, who would be available on loan.

Just for information, I work occasionally in Nigeria (not this year obviously) and have come to realise that all the Nigerians I know are football mad. They know so much about English football, and all leagues as well. They particularly follow teams with players of Nigerian descent and the Rams are now firmly in their sights. They are following the Academy players Shonibare, Ebosele and Aghatise. And now we’ve got Ibe we are a favourite team (though not yet up there with Chelsea and Arsenal which are the two main teams followed there)
 
Hopefully I will go to Abuja next year and I’ll take some scarves and shirts with me.

This man looks quicker than Chris Martin, is taller, can tackle, use both feet and can dribble well. This is based on the highlights of 5 different videos I have watched. Even if he don't get 15 to 20 goals, he looks like a player that can put himself about. Keeping the opposition defence busy, could be the missing piece of the jigsaw. And with Lawrence, Waghorn, Holmes, Bielik, Ibe to come in to the team I think things will get better.

People mention about little resale value due to his age but look at someone like Vardy.
If he comes in and bags 20+ goals for us the chances are he will be linked with a move away at much more than we will likely pay so resale value is simply down to how well the player does, not just his age.

Let's just sign nobody then. It's much safer.

Not aimed directly at yourself but in general. What would people need the club to do to be 'whelmed'? 
Spend 10mill on a striker from the domestic leagues? Can't think of a single one I'd be overly excited about us signing from our league or otherwise. 
Loan a young striker from a prem team? Not too many about, we've been linked to some, again unproven and we don't gain anything from it after the season ends.
Spend big on a European striker? Massive risk to do, could backfire like Forest. 
A 6ft3' striker at the prime of his career who is scoring a good amount of goals and available under 2 mill? I'm not sure more the club could do, this seems exactly the kind of signing we should make. 

This should be Derby’s scouting. If you have scored against the team we are playing next, get them on a one game basis then tell them to go away. We could do really well with that tactic

He’s done this, so he should now be in a position to support him with where the squad needs improving. 

With the obvious caveat that this is a highlight reel and you could make anyone look like a world beater if you only took their best moments, this video did definitely grab my attention. 
 
Coconut’s right that a lot is deep, but this isn’t just a video of someone scoring tap-ins, it contains him doing a lot of different things:
- linking up with wide players
- tracking back to win the ball and start an attack
- cute flicks round the corner under pressure
- aerial presence
- ability to hold the ball up and wait for support 
 
Now, all this video shows us is that he can do all of these things or at least that he has done them once. The challenge for the recruitment team is to ascertain whether he does them enough to be a good fit for us. As has been mentioned elsewhere, the other signings so far this window give me confidence that if they think he’s the guy, I’ll back them. 

Derby fans want a 6'3" 23 year old England international striker, with ten years premier league experience, scores thirty goals a season has a transfer fee of £100,000 and will play for £500 pounds per week. And they would still moan about him. Although it is not just Rams fans that are miserable moaning,glass half empty buggers, Derby people are all like that.

2. Bundesliga is probably the 2nd best if not best quality 2nd division in the world along with the Championship. He got 16 goals and 6 assists last season, puts himself about and wins a lot of aerial duels. He has 1 year left on his contract as well. Lets be honest, we're a Championship team, what sort of players should we be looking at signing? It's unrealistic hoping for top quality, amazing players that play in top divisions. This is a sensible signing, I hope the link is legit.

How to watch? From behind the sofa and holding on tightly to your teddy or cot blanket would probably be best.

I'm pleased for him he got back so quick, I was told it was as bad a injury as Barker's.
Whether we were right or wrong to get rid, I'm happy to see him back on the pitch and healthy.

I’ll have to bow down to you and @Curtains on this one. Looked like we couldn’t get a test-level run rate going when batting, then, I watched about 16 overs of the Australia chase, and we looked untroubling as a bowling attack, lacking variety and guile. Then went for Lamb Kleftiko, and forgot about cricket. 
 
Ultimately, Morgan is indisputably England’s Greatest limited overs captain. Others could’ve been, but never had the conviction to stand up and take down the stuffy, conservative, self-serving establishment that is now thankfully crumbling.
