Dcfcsr92 reacted to Birdyabroad in Warne Out Out
There’s been plenty of polls and a few ‘Warne Out’ comments, but thought I’d start the definitive ‘Warne Out Out’ post, which as fans of a particular Sarf London comedian means ‘properly out!’
No messing, I was on his side at first, but am tired of the utter banality of our football; mid table mediocrity and I don’t care what he did at Rotherham.
Please can we bring back some McLaren-esque footy, something to actually ‘entertain’ the fans? I’m sure I read somewhere that football should be entertaining 🤷♂️
😞

I wouldn't say I was jealous... but if he ain't wearing a sombrero at Wembley in May, someone's in forra slap! 👀

Established in the Championship and building a young team again like we did under Nigel Clough.

And bradley last couple hes played has looked solid, first couple he stuggled with, yes but i think that was lack of match fitness i wpuld have no problem we bradley starting but hes got to fight with cash and nelson which both are doing well to keep him out the team

Warne said last night “We are failing because we are not in the top 6”. He’s not stupid , he knows we have to improve . I am happy for him to continue after all the owner is also. We have to respect fans who are not happy with him. They believe we are so Massive that top 2 is the minimum requirement. The criticism does not upset me .

Warne said in his interview last night that he had let the players know that they and the coaching staff need to improve if they want success. Why's he allowed to say it but the fans aren't?

I've had enough. Warne out.
Oh wait. That's not what you meant, eh.
Sorry, as you were.

I'm not a fan but will express my criticisms on here but I don't boo or shout abuse as games.
My only at game protest is not singing along to Paul Warne’s Barmy Army

Fans at games should get behind the team. But we are allowed to have an opinion and mine is that Warne should not be the Derby manager.

Dcfcsr92 reacted to TomTom92 in Warne: what would it take?
But draws against Cambridge and Cheltenham. If you want to give Warne the full season in the hope we sneak in to the play offs then fair play to you.
I’d rather us show some ambition to get top 2 and if that fails have a team that blows sides away at the very least.

Was very telling from the guys at BBC Radio Derby on Warne. Normally they are reserved with but with Dominick questioning Warne on being one dimensional and not bringing on an attacking player while Colin and Eric Steele suggesting it’s simple not good enough… they seem fed up as a lot of us do now. Dom’s questions towards Paul were spot on and the overall assessment from the guys was refreshing to hear. Warne couldn’t answer it properly. In terms of tactics, I don’t think I’m the only one who struggles working out what an earth the tactical strategy is. Bird moving from holding to attacking is, not bringing Sibley on, playing out an out of form NML who must be shattered. Only positive is Elder TJJ and Ward will be back with us after the break. It’s too much for Warne to handle. As for the booing, it’s something fans are divided on but we pay good money to watch football and instead I feel like I’m on the verge of keeping my hands up in the air just in case I get hit from the amount of long balls we do.

That’s a poor result pathetic in fact but Collins has been just fine this season, he’s scored and he’s worked hard one game doesn’t mean anything, NML should of scored 2/3 but it’s all Collins fault

You make some very good points in your post but I have to pick up on one thing....
Some of us who are dissatisfied with Warne are not basing it on 4 or 5 games, the performances or results, or judging it on the new players that he's brought in and who are still settling in and/or overcoming injuries, or even the efforts of the players.
No, we are basing it on the impressions we have formed of his tactical approach over the year that he's been in charge.
Warne has been here for over a year. He hasn't merely presided over 4 or 5 games.
He has had time to lay the foundations for how the team should play and how the club should be run.
Yet, it seems, he's been forced to change formation from 352 to 4231 by injuries and Bradley's poor form.
He places too much emphasis on scoring goals from set pieces rather than enterprising football.
He rarely gets team selection or substitutions right in my view - Blackpool was an obvious exception.
For someone who claims to live and breathe football, it's surprising that the reports are that he hasn't been to a single academy game - and doesn't even know the names of some of their star performers. That's hardly providing an incentive to the kids.
If, as we're told, Warne was brought in to establish a tone for the club as a whole, he shouldn't be merely focused on the first team. The club have - rightly in my view - had an emphasis on having a Grade 1 academy. The impression is that Warne does not share that same interest.
So, you see, those of us who do not think Warne is a good fit for Derby County are basing it on far more than a handful of poor results at home.
We are concerned about the overall direction of the club, team tactics and the development of young players.

Just grates that people start acting like everything is fine and dandy and people are deluded to even ever had the gaul to criticise Warne after a win when there's still massive room for improvement, this is league 1 and top 6 is the minimum expectation. I'm just keeping my eyes focused on the bigger picture. It's ridiculous that people have to polarise things we have massive work to do to get to the levels we need still.

Dcfcsr92 reacted to RAM1966 in Its like Clough all over again...... Bored Stiff Today!
Before you slate me, Clough had a talented team, he was too negative, Stevie Mac turned us into an attacking outfit overnight!!!! That's not the issue with Warne as we were camped in their half for large spells of the game, that said I was bored stiff today, just like Cloughs football.
I felt like going home at HT, I stayed obviously, the footie got worse not better, we just can not seem to brake teams down that come for a draw!
Stevie Mac part 3 anyone? The football was never boring, it had us on the edge of our seats............

I think its a tough one to answer, we have looked more balanced in the midfield since birds not been there. Also at the same time tommo/fornah gave us running in the midfield which has helped balance the midfield. I dont just think you can say yes or no its a team game and until hes in the midfield with more energetic midfielders as i feel hourihane looked better once this happened

We've missed Barkhuisen more than Max Bird.
Nothing against the lad, but i do feel hes a tad overrated.
