Totally agree. The rules are swayed to protect the very people who are already making it virtually impossible to follow the rules.

Nice work @sageI woke up despondant but this (and B4's posts) have fired me up. Im in, I won't be able to get the train home, unless I leave at half time, so I'll have to stay at my mum's house. The last time I had this sort of feeling about a game was Ted's testimonial.
My Mrs is struggling to get the whole tribal thing, but the tribe has called. COYR

It’s not about affection it’s about seeing things with accuracy rather than gut, in the moment emotion. We are all hurting but road rage isn’t constructive, logical or reflective of the whole story which is vastly complex.

Wow. What a day. It was special. A day I will never forget. 17,000 Derby fans but it may as well have been 30,000 such was the noise and every fan 100% behind the team and the coaching staff.
Then the game. What a performance. Some superb counter attacking and glimpses of real quality. Ravel at times today (especially in the first half) was equal to Stefano Eranio   with those passes in the box, magical. Stunning goal from Max Bird who was also outstanding in the first half (what a player he is). Baldock should’ve scored, Ravel should’ve scored, we should’ve been 3-0 up and out of sight but then the Ince goal made it nervy. That said never had any doubts we would close it out. To a man the players were superb today and showed they care. Likewise Rooney and Rosenior.

I was in tears at full time, so proud of all of them and for the fans unbelievable support of them. It felt like we’re in this together. duck the rest of the football world, duck Mel Morris, no bitching about 3 wins in 20 odd and Rooney isn’t the right man. Everyone backing the team backing the coaches backing the club, backing each other - as one. It was truly special.
Its to be a part of days like today is why I’m a football fan and why I love this club so dearly. It will be a bumpy road but if we stick together we will come back stronger!!

What can I say… So disappointed in the hierarchy at DCFC.
As people have said, some of my best days following this club have been in the old 3rd tier.. Different times I know but still great away days.  There are some BIG clubs in League 2, it could be good for us fans.
We are in a mess, we’ve been in a mes before.. Hopefully we can survive and put Morris well behind us.. No more, he’s local, he’s one of our own bollx.. Means nothing, absolutely nothing..
Ive said before, my love for football is declining quickly. Not just because of our situation but the PL, Champions League, money oriented bull poo. It’s not about us anymore, it’s about money. I suppose that is the world nowadays but to be honest, you can keep it.. Players kiss the badge, owners show up when time are good and disappear when it gets tough.. No honesty in pro football now.. It’s all false and I hate it..
I read this forum and feel for those who are starting out, those who it still means a lot to.. Even David, who runs a great forum but still has to make a living from it.. I see the DCFC adds have gone now, I hope it’s not too much of a hit for him. B4, absolutely gutted for him. It’s not the end mate, just a new chapter.. I know you will keep the faith but this is going to hit him hard. It’s not so much the EFLs fault fella (although they have stuck the knife in), it’s Morris, end of.

60 years old and been through most things with this club. I wish I could say I’m numb, I have been through most of his reign but to be honest… I’m absolutely gutted for the staff, the fans, the creditors and anyone else who truly love this poxy club..

Well .. that’s it then. League one next season and with a points deduction on top of that.

All things pass .. we are going to have 3 or 4 difficult years by the sounds of things.
So what ! As long as the club survives as an entity and 11 blokes pull on a shirt. Then we get behind them and hope for a win.

I only hope un secured creditors, the small people, don’t get shafted by systems and politics

Gisby reacted to MackworthRamIsGod in Protest against the right people
I'm no fan of Mel anymore, he deserves a lot of the stick he receives, same with Pearce, but, protests shouldn't be aimed at them, they should be aimed squarely at the EFL.
It surprises me that some fans haven't clicked onto who the real enemy are. Protesting against Mel Morris will have Rick Parry licking his lips, and Steve Gibsons no doubt. Any protest against Mel, regardless of our feelings, is another dent against the club.
Protests need to be pre-arranged, before and after the game, banners with words to the effect that the EFL are destroying football. The media need to know so the protests get air time and we need a spokesperson who can appear in the media and give facts as to why we feel we are being harshly treated. Such as; if the EFL hadn't signed off all our accounts we wouldn't have paid 10 million for Bielik, or 4 million for Jozwiak, or x amount for Wayne Rooney.
In all of this, we don't have anyone visibly representing Derby and trying to set our story straight.
I am absolutely sick to the back teeth of the EFL and Rick Parry, I would rather see us play non-league football and fight them to the hilt than bend over and accept guilt!
If Mel Morris reads this (he won't), you have made lots of mistakes, but you have my full backing on this, fight the barstewards right to the very end, don't accept any points deduction, at least until the EFL accept liability also.
Protest against the EFL not Mel!

I didn't see it advertised anywhere as a documentary.
Everyone moans that we're always the centre of negative press, yet here we are with one of the games modern greats nipping into Moor Farm, speaking positively about the work Rooney is doing and look at the reaction.
And why does the win stat over this year and last season need to be churned out day after day, last season is gone, it's over.
This season it's clear to see performances have improved and we're sat higher in the table than clubs with far more experienced managers and squads at their disposal.
When's the guy gonna be given a break? Maybe there is a positive atmosphere behind the scenes, which is great to hear, can we not just enjoy a bit of positivity amongst all the daily doom gloom.

Bowyer's been able to sign 8 players, including 3 season-long loans, plus another 4 players who were sent out immediately on loan to other clubs.
If Rooney had been allowed to sign another 3 players, including season-long loans, maybe we'd have had the start that Brum have had?
    It's not a fair comparison.

Compared to Villa, Bournemouth, Leicester, QPR, Wolves and co, yes we bloody have! In case you're unaware, the only charge upheld against the club thus far relates to our use of ERV amortisation versus straight line, a crime so heinous that it is not even cited in the EFL's own regs and even then, only in reference to the manner in said policy was described in our accounts. I'd venture that's pretty feckin irregular, though doubtless you can provide ample evidence to show otherwise?
As things stand, we've endured nearly 24 months of on-off embargos and the EFL are still apparently seeking a significant points deduction as the cherry on the cake (and all this in defiance of the findings of two IDC panels) yet by your reckoning, the piss-taking is exclusively the province of Mel and the club! How the feck does that work then?
Astounds me that so many so-called fans are quite happy to get the pitchforks out for Morris whilst copping a massive blind one to the fact that we have a collective of port-slurping, old school tie bankers with no clue what they are doing, lining their pockets as they sell out the very member clubs whose interests they purport to serve.

I don't care what anyone thinks of Mel but until the EFL come out and charge us with something we should all tell them to duck off. It's them against us.

I understand that Gaspode, but this smacks of closing the gate before the horse is even in the field. The EFL are demanding that Mel shows proof of funding. Fair enough I suppose, but if he does so, the HMRC situation becomes utterly moot.
I'm afraid they are simply tying the club in knots for reasons I've already outlined too many times to warrant doing so again. I can accept the charges levied if we are given a fair crack at addressing them. What sticks in my craw is the total lack of consistency either in terms of the current situation, or historically. Again, the obvious historical examples have been cited ad nauseum.
I'd resist any EFL sanctions on that very basis, though I appreciate that stance leaves me in a diminishing minority. When I read posts saying 'let's just take the 9 point hit and move on', I can't help but ask on what basis, but then perhaps I'm just being stubborn ?‍♂️

The letter reads well to me. I’m not sure why fans are getting their knickers in a twist about them ‘not representing me’. The letter asks a number of questions that have been raised in this forum. I doubt they’ll hear anything in response though, such is the clubs complete disregard to its fans.

So we now know what's what, 23 players of professional standing, 2 long term injuries = 25 players, Not allowed to sign anyone until the EFL get what they're after...which I asume is a big points deduction.
Now here's the rub, If i'd done the exact same as MM and I firmly believe i'd done nothing wrong...would I take on those at the EFL...you bet your life I would, I'd spend every penny I had in the law courts to prove my innocence, Once innocence has been proven then i'm off to the high court to screw the living daylights out of those who have besmirched my club and name, Is it possible to take the EFL to court...that I do not know, But i'm a vindictive so and so and I hold a grudge.
So MM if you are innocent in your mind...take em on, You have this old uns full support.

I’m surprised at the number of posts in the match thread that seem a bit down. Totally get it was only a draw against our local rivals, mediocre rivals at that. First half though we pretty much bossed it and were far more inventive and creative. Had we got the rub with a better ref, a penalty given or had Stretton just connected sweeter from the brilliance of Sibley, we would have comfortably won; because no way would that poor Forest team have scored twice.
We don’t seem comfortable one in front at the minute, always seems a ricket lurking. Yet under the circumstances of everything of the pitch, the glimpses we are seeing from the nucleus of this team is very encouraging. Rooney is slowly evolving this team into a decent one. He’s honest in his assessments and to give him more credit appreciates the backing the fans are giving right now.
As much as not winning is a bit deflating, there’s a fair few reasons for optimism in this team under Rooney; he’s slowly winning me back over.
