Hull - I agree. Some great pubs, quite a lively music and arts scene and loads of maritime history. Its reputation for late-night mayhem isn't a myth however. Get out before nightfall. 
Stoke - Stokies are sound people away from matchdays. As a city, it's a mess, but there's some great industrial history trails. There's a Titanic bar on the station now, so if you don't fancy exploring the pubs, it's a good place to enjoy a Plum Porter while waiting for your train back to Derbados.

In most cases in life you get what you pay for.
We spend less as a percentage of GDP than the rest of the G7 and if adjusting for Purchasing Power we spend less than the EU14.
So it's not terrible, but it's not as good as it could be either and there's a million and one reasons for that but in the end it nearly always comes down to money.
Unfortunately, voters in this country tend to think public services should be world beating, but also don't want to pay to fund them.

Best way you can save money is to agree not to get wrapped up (see what I did there) in it all. Two presents each, reasonable price cap, no stockings, new lights or bottles of expensive nutmeg flavoured liqueurs from M&S. Still have your Christmas dinner, still sing carols round the tree, still go to midnight mass or whatever but just reign in the consumerist claptrap they try to convince us all we can't do without.
I know, I sound all Ebenezer but look at your credit card statement on Jan 2nd and tell me I was wrong.....

I'd love to stand together as one today but unfortunately I couldn't get a ticket in the away end. It's gonna be a frustrating experience stood with the locals.

Bullying? Oh come on. Only 11 players can start, the management decide who best to pick for any particular game. To suggest that leaving Sibley out is bullying is melodramatic to say the least (as well as childish).  I’m a fan of his, but he is hardly the messiah.

The speed at which teams try to play is much slower. I’ve barely seen a chance created in the three games (for either side) by a passing move.
Most of the chances have come from either set-pieces, a counter where the opposition have left oceans of space in wide areas (think Charlton’s goal against us and our second against Barnsley) and a turnover high up the field (like our winner against Oxford).
I think the way we play we won’t be seeing a lot of high-scoring games.
 

Crazy that if we had converted a few of the easy chances we have had (this season) we would be clear at the top without hitting second gear..
Promising signs.. A couple more quality loans and season should be something to savour.. ?
