Madri will make you poop through the eye of a needle.

If I had diarrhea like that, the last thing on my mind would be looking for a needle to make a game out of it. I'd be more focused on getting my jeans down in time to hit the bowl than worrying about bragging rights based on the accuracy of my explosive evacuation.

Very attacking subs, but I don't understand how/why Hourihane is staying on. He doesn't have the legs for a whole game. Does Chester have legs for a whole game too? Odd to bring two of your more youthful players off first.

Radio Derby says we haven't taken any of the daft (my words) short goalkicks this game.

    Au contraire Black Adder.

I'm awaiting a kit being delivered

I found out last year through some blood tests for something else that I have an obscure genotype which means I have something called Alpha1 AntiTrypsin Deficiency (A1ATD)

It means that one of my parents has it but we don't know which one, as they are both healthy and in their 80s. And possibly both my kids

Essentially it's marker that means you don't generate as much of the Alpha1 protein which protects your lungs from inflammation. If any of us had been heavy smokers we'd almost certainly all have ended up with chronic emphysema

Weirdly it's far more prevalent than you'd imagine, because it can be asymptomatic and there is no routine testing for it. Quite important though as if you have a baby with someone else that carries the gene, you have a high risk of a very sickly child

Anyway - it kind of got me interested in genetics. Especially as I just got diagnosed with crohns - which is also supposed to be genetic. Even though no one in my family has it. I don't really suffer any symptoms - which is weird. Especially as the reason I found out was because they just removed half of my colon. They thought I had cancer - but nope it's crohns.. so now i have crohns and half a colon

    yay

Are you sure they threw it away.

Worth an ask mate, it could be in a fridge somewhere.

Having said that, if it turns up down the back of a sofa, I'd probably not have them pop it back.

I have haemochromatosis which is hereditary and can cause liver, pancreas and heart issues later on in life.

Rather annoyingly, I am now later on in life so the raging hypochondriac in me is just waiting for something to go wrong.

  4. I thought the first season of The Capture was just ok. One of those things where i loved the premise, but too many plot holes for even Mrs Badger to ignore and she likes Midsummer Murders ffs. 6.5/10.

On t he recommendation of @Eatonram we pushed on with Season 2 and I must say, half way through it is significantly better and we're really enjoying it.

8 games in, 2 months ago had 5 players, can’t pay transfer fees therefore relying on over 30s and kids some of whom might be future higher level players but have never played senior football because we can’t spend loan fees. Playing against teams at the top who are established, having been through a degree of pain to get there.

Im hoping the negativity is driven by the heat of the moment after two back to back bad performances and people will be more rational in the morning. The level of transition and upheaval has been massive we were never going to be walking the league destroying teams at this stage.

If we’re here in another month after another bunch of bad results and performances I might change my view. I’m prepared to give it more time with Liam that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be held to account but it’s easy to put the blame entirely at his door, some players have been poor these couple of games. Bird in particular, can blame tactics or say to Max if you’re going to be a marked man you have to find a way to cope with it, that’s what you need to do if you’re going to play at a much higher level which most think he can.

This is not the time to rip up everything and get a dinosaur (an experienced head) in. The teams leading the way currently in league one are managed by young progressive coaches who have been given time to mould their teams!! Well guess what we have a young progressive coach who hasn’t been given time (do not say he’s been here 3 years the squad is TOTALLY different)

A very balanced and thoughtful post.

    No he's not.

He probably should be though. He visited Jeffrey Epstein's apartment in New York two years after Epstein had been convicted of child sex offences. Bear in mind he'd been a guest of Epstein and Maxwell before Epstein's conviction. Add the fact that he paid £12m instead of facing his accuser in an American court, I would say it's fair to assume he's a nonce.

He should count himself very lucky not to be in prison and should be kept out of the public eye completely before he brings the whole monarchy down.

Am I right that the girl in question was 17?

I'm honestly not sure because I didn't follow the story closely because it broke when I was living in the US.

If that is the case (or even if she was 16) then it would have been legal in the UK and a great many other countries.

In fact, it would have been legal in the vast majority of US States, just not Florida

So,  on the Georgia side of the St. Marys river I can have relations with a 16 year old girl legally. But if go around to the other side which is in Florida and do the same I'm a nonce and a pedophile.

I think the guy is a slimy loathsome individual, but that sounds utterly absurd to me.

I don't view somebody charged with pedophilia after having sex with a 17 year old in the same way as I do somebody who has sex with a 10 year old.

In the same way as I don't judge an 18 year old boy who slept with his willing 17 year girlfriend and is charged with statutory rape in the same way I would a 20 year old who forced a 19 year old to have sex against her will.

In the US, both end on the sex offenders register..

Finally got to the end - the shoot-out in the hotel car park was superb. Absolutely brilliant but the right decision not to do a series 9. Gomorrah still tops but this runs it close.

Not got to the end yet as w always take a break in between seasons. But I hear there's a shoot-out.

Would doing something with your family be more or less disrespectful than an under 7s football match?

People have spent so long plannung for the queen's death, just so we can get some pictures of her on bus stops withing an hour of the news being announced. Shame they couldn't have decided on things that actually impact people's lives. How many businesses will be impacted by all these last minute cancellations and postponements?

That's a point I hadn't considered, that the FA could have had plans in place.

With the World Cup being this year there's already huge pressure on fixtures and the potential cancelations of two weekends at a time of year when weather is highly unlikely to intervene usually could be a real problem.

  9. I'd abolish the Monarchy in s heartbeat and I have no problem people making jokes about anything unless it's done with malice. It's the beauty of living in a country that has free speech.

Having said that, she was a remarkable person and a true force of nature.

And I think it's obvious that she really was a servant to the country and always wanted the best for her people.

So, I definitely admired her and feel bad for her family and staunch Royalists like almost all my family including Mrs Badger.

But I'm not sad per se, more reflective. Because like @GboroRam, I think it could get rocky for the Royals with Chazza presiding over affairs.

I won't say RIP because that would suggest I believe in souls and heaven, but ya know, I hope her family can celebrate the good times of which there were many.

I used to hate the yearly call from the yellow pages sales team, some how no matter how happy you were with the work generated from the ad last year it always needed changing or making bigger,  weird.?

    We weren't well liked.

Having said that, we made no commission on ads being changed as there was only a nominal artwork charge to the customer and a bunch of paperwork for the rep. So I doubt anybody was trying to get you to change an ad without increasing the size too.

Literally the hardest job I ever had. I always worked 60+ hours a week, sometimes over 70 and the pressure was intense and constant.

  11. Got to the end of Deceit from Channel 4 last night.

It went up to a 7.5/10 maybe even an 8.

I think I *enjoyed* it (not really the right word for something so dark) more because I had no clue of what happened.

I remembered the initial case of Rachel Nickell, but not what went on with the manhunt.

  12. I'll only comment on towns I've spent at least five days in working, meaning I've also stopped overnight, otherwise it's often tough to tell.

But as I spent 20 years in sales traveling around the entire UK and almost 5 years was with Yellow Yages where we'd be  in towns for extended periods, so I have seen some horrors.

5th =  Slough and Staines. Both complete concrete jungles that if you put me. in either I'd not wager more than a fiver I knew which I was in. It was 25 years ago though, so I could have merged them and one maybe much worse than the other

4th - Rotherham - bad, but I think their accents would make Antigua feel slummy, so tough to tell

    3rd - Stockport - spent a year there and it's basically the A6

2nd - West Bromwich - spent a year there too <shudder>. The Black Country accent is utterly impenetrable and even after a year couldn't understand a damn word anybody said to me.

1st - Scunthorpe - The overwhelming champion.  Literally no redeeming feature whatsoever, other than you can get out of it quickly onto the M180 and back to civilisation. Possibly the whitest large town I have ever stayed in.

Sheffield has some rough ares, but it has some really nice areas too and I'd say the same for Nottingham

Somebody mentioned Redruth, which for Cornwall is nasty and it is the town of choice to get murdered in in this county, but come on, it's not even close to any of the above. Derby is worse than Redruth.

I've been told by colleagues that Boro is very bad, but only been there once to watch Derby.

I think Angie wears her old 80’s Fly British Midland Rams jersey at the captains table when cruising.?

I think I’ll be cruising for a bruising in a minute mind. ?

I don't know her personally, but on seeing her posts on her for a few years I'd have never had her down as the cruising type.

Electric is costing me $40 a month here in the US.

UK really needs to u-turn on policy and start with the Shale gas and fracking.

Jeez, which state are you in?

I was paying about $250 per month averaged over the year in Florida before we moved back in October 2020.

Prior to that when we rented a bigger house with a pool it regularly hit $500 per month.

Mind you. Florida is effectively a monopoly (at least Central Florida) as we only had one supplier available to us.

    Do you have AC?

  15. Anybody seen Industry, the series about the banking industry in London? I heard the writers interviewed and it sounded a lot like Succession (in fact the person interviewing them said that) but I missed the first series entirely and was thinking of going back now the 2nd one is out.

Half way through Deceit on Channel 4 about the Rachel Nickell murder in London in 1992.

I'm finding it a bit disturbing tbh, even though it's well acted.
