I'm coming into this conversation late without reading the thread because I just want to vent.

But what makes the Jewish response any different than if we'd rolled into Ireland after the IRA committed any of their atrocities?

A lot of Irish people supported the IRA in the same way as a lot of Palestinians support Hamas or even Hezbollah. But, even if some hardliners on the right would have loved that, it was never ever going to happen. 

Thousands of totally innocent civilians are dying in response to hundreds of innocent civilians dying. As an independent observer, I struggle to think of any way to justify the actions of either side. 

I suspect ina dacde Hamas will be even more powerful after a flood of new converts driven to them by the power trying to wipe them out.

Maybe I'm naive.

Reptile on Netflix with Benicio Del Toro, Alicia Silverstone and Justin Timberlake.

Only gets 6.8 on IMDB and that would normally mean I'd not bother, but the reviews/criticism were for things that don't another me, like 'slow burn' and 'not enough action'

I really enjoyed it and Benicio Del Toro was outstanding, easily the best thing I've seen him in.

I have NFC where the title came from as there was a distinct lack of reptiles other than what looked like a random shedded snakeskin near the beginning.

Good acting with one really laugh out loud unexpected moment and a well-paced script made it worthwhile.

A solid Martin Kuhl on one of his better days. 7/10, nudging 7.5

He was way more into opiates than he was coke. And they make you fall asleep.

When he wrote his autobiography, he was less than two years clean and had gone that long before.

The addict in me hopes it was a tragic accident, but the addict in me also makes me think he relapsed. 

Read his autobiography a few weeks ago. Or rather listened to it.

It was excellent, but boy did he have a HUGE addiction problem.

He came close to dying several times and once chartered a plane he'd just flown in from Switzerland to go straight back and buy more opioids because he'd taken them on the plane.

People rarely drown in hot tubs without being either exceedingly drunk or high. My guess is opioids.

Such a game for a smart, funny and (to me because I know a lot of people thought he came across as arrogant in his book) nice guy.

Thought we'd have a break between seasons 3 and 4 of The Sopranoes and check out Bodies.

Watched the first episode last night, and it was a bit pants.

I've seen too many good series over the last few years that started off poorly, but I'm curious to know what others thought.

I think the incredibly mediocre acting after The Sopranoes bugged me the most.

Oh, and the final scene when she got out of her futuristic car and the robotic AI voice asked her if she was ok. AI sounds better than that now so I doubt it will be worse in 30 years.

A question about Boiling Point. Is it just a remake of the movie, which I thought was great. Or is it a prequel, or just based on the idea? Not sure I want to watch a remake of something I've watched in the last year or so.

It seems comedy is becoming the new rock ‘n’ roll for me.  Must be my age!

The most disappointing thing is none of them are in Derby, as the standard of venues for moderate sized comedy/music is so poor…

Saw JC in August, and we too have Acastaer and Hall tickets, as well as Ranganathan and Sarah Millican

We saw Jonathan Pie on his last tour, and he was very good. He'd not be in my top 20%, but very enjoyable.

A number of those (Khan, Gilbert and Campbell) I'm not familiar with as I'm still getting back into UK comedy.

Slow Horses (Apple) - a bit slow (sic) to this one but brilliant IMO, about a group of cast out MI5 spooks. Only watched S1 so far, and hoping S2 doesn't disappoint. Great cast, especially Gary Oldman.

Invasion (Apple) - Sci-Fi - more about the people than the aliens - enjoying this too, currently on S2E8. Has had mixed reviews (some saying too slow paced) but I don't think so. 

The Long Shadow (ITV/ITVX) - Focuses on the victims of The Ripper attacks of the 70s including some pretty bigoted views on women and highlighting the police's many failings . Compelling TV and def worth a watch. 

I thought Slow Horse was no more than pretty good, but Gary Oldman was phenomenal and it's worth watching just for him. If he doesn't win a BAFTA for that I'll be astounded.

Top Boy final season.

Two decades late getting into the brilliant The Sopranos meant we're a tad late getting into this.

But, (top) boy was it worth the wait:

Colin Todd/10.

It may be my favourite British drama of all time.

Totally unapologetic with breathtakingly realistic dialogue (we watched the last two episodes with subtitles on and then still had to look up some words), and brilliantly paced. Sparkling script

Fabulous acting and plotlines that have no reason to be there other than life is like that, weird.

Unlike Succession and Gomorrah, the ending didn't disappoint either.

I cannot believe that going back into The Sopranos seems a bit anti-climactic.

Amazingly, Falmouth passed, and so did Plymouth when I saw him there last year.

Passing his filth test is like hooking a duck to win a goldfish.

We had a good night though and even though we saw him on this tour, there was still plenty of new material and so many jokes that I'd forgotten.

He sure can work a crowd.

I'd definitely go and see him again on a new tour.

Got a gap now to Acaster and Ranganathan next Spring.

NC was about as long-term as we have ever got, and he was let go just as things were coming to fruition.

This is a myth.

There is no such thing as a long-term guy at all but a tiny handful of clubs these days.

You say long-term, but if we are more poorly positioned after 12 months, you (or people like you) will be saying the exact same thing.

That's not a criticism, btw, just an observation.

I'm not a Warne fan or his harshest critic, but I think we have to stop convincing ourselves that it will be different next time a manager struggles because they are our long-term guy.

Warne is that long-term guy and it will only be different when we get immediate success. 

Blue Host are cheap as are (or were, not sure anymore), Hostgator if it's just hosting you want and you're using WordPress.

Both will give you cPanel access.

I use Cloudways and they are good but expensive for a hobby site. I pay around $30 per month

It's a shame he's remembered more for his penalties and that scrap than he is a great footballer that helped turn us into a championship team.

I was just saying to @Eatonram that the Man City away game may well be my favourite attended of all time - although to be fair, I wasn't at Leeds.

A real legend of both Derby and of the game as a whole.

Top Boy is in my top 5 series of all time, along with The Wire, Gomorrah, Spiral and Breaking Bad.

Who has watched Murders in the Building?

We don't have Disney but there's a £1.99 per month offer and Mrs Badger wants to watch that and it seems to get good reviews.

Still got about 50 episodes of The Sopranos and Top Boy to go at, but it may make an interesting interlude.
