  1. So, I watched the first season of The Traitors, and it's utter repetitive nonsense with the tasks boring and pointless.

Few of the contestants are likeable, and some are really thick and unlikeable.

    I loved it.

I'm now irritated that I have to wait for the new episodes as we have caught up with season 2.

Can't believe nobody has sussed Paul out. Classic conformation bias with some halo effect thrown in for good measure.

    Don't judge me people.

Ok, you can judge me, I'm shallow and vacuous.

I got fed up with Ted Lasso too.

Fargo 5 is terrific stuff. All of the usual kookiness but with domestic violence at its core.

Great writing, great characters and great acting, especially from Juno Temple from Ted Lasso 😊

Jon Hamm is terrifying as a sheriff who thumps bibles and wives with equal relish.

Ted Lasso fell off a cliff. First series was good, second, mediocre, third just more of the second but not quite as funny. At least the first 4 episodes because that is all I could get through.

Yup - not that there aren't other huge problems in the world, but to try and disassociate them from climate change, as if they aren't all linked is asinine in the extreme. Climate change is at the heart of it all.

I'm sure we're already beyond the point where we can limit warming to 1.5, and as such is more about whether we bend or break - and how soon. Yes some of the reporting is alarmist, but then there is an awful lot that we should be alarmed about!

As humans, we struggle with imagining how we'll feel about events in the medium to-distant future.  We tend to believe we'll be better equipped at some random future date than we are now, hence why so many people are poor at planning for retirement.

We also struggle with large concepts and abstract facts because they're not easy to represent in our minds.

Then you add in short-term self-interest, and it's no wonder so little has been done for so long. It's entirely predictable and understandable.

  4. Good call by @hales300k with Love/Hate on ITVX, it's pretty good and I can see how it will get better.

Irish gangland stuff along the lines of Gomorrah, Top Boy etc.

It's interesting seeing Frank from Kin ten years younger but playing a very similar character.

Has anybody else seen this? It came out when we were in the US, so I'd never heard of it.

  5. Weirdly, Barton has suddenly started hitting my X feed. I have no effing clue why out of the blue that has happened, but every time I go in, there he is.

I suppose I should stop reading the insane comments or block him.

I think he may be mental.

  6. I have been waiting for something I really wanted to watch (Slow Horses 3 wasn't quite compelling enough) to kick off my Apple TV free 6 months, and I think this baby will do it. Anybody watching it? I know they're drip-feeding it, rather annoyingly.

  7. I thought I'd start a new thread as it was starting to get discussed in the watchable telly thread.

I haven't watched the ITV drama yet but I will.

I was aware of the story, but not especially as it happened when we were living in the US and I had no clue it ran into hundreds of people with each one being told nobody else had other issues.

This is looking like the biggest scandal/cover-up of our time with a lot of people complicit. I hope the duckers who ok'ed this at the highest level get sent down.

  8. Started watching the first season of Traitor last night.

I can definitely see why it may become compulsive, especially for Mrs Badger.

I'm a bit surprised at how thick they all are or how little they seem to know about human psychology - wouldn't you try to learn if you were coming on a show like this?

The last thing a traitor would do is be quiet. They would be leading the conversations, which appears to be exactly what the three traitors are doing. Having said that, I suppose editing may deliberately mislead the viewer.

Cannot find it on Netflix, will have a look on my firestick.

Does every fire stick come with stuff on that isn't available elsewhere, or do you have a special one? IOW, wtf is going on??

It's one that grew on me, but the jokes remain daft and the plots even dafter, so if you don't find yourself taking to the characters, I'd probably give it a skip. I probably gave it more latitude than I might have because Omar Sy is in one of my favourite ever films, The Intouchables, which I strongly recommend anyone and everyone to watch, especially anyone feeling in need of a lift. It's a delight and a treasure IMHO.

Oh wow, The Intouchables gets 8.5 on IMDb. Is it on Netflix?

  11. Men Up on iPlayer.

Viagra clinical trials start in Wales in the 80s with a bunch of guys all getting the opportunity to deal with their diabetes caused impotence by taking part.

It was an easy enough watch, but ultimately, I was a bit bored, and the jokes (It's not a comedy per se, but very lighthearted) were all a bit predictable.

Mrs Badge enjoyed it a lot more than I did.

    Steve Cross/10

  12. Started watching Lupin last night with very high expectations. For some reason, I thought it was going to be like the brilliant Spiral.

Hated the first episode, felt really hammy with a preposterous plot and lame humour.

It was more the style/feel of it that I didn't care for (a bit like Reacher for me which I thought was awful), but if you guys say it's fantastic and I need to stick with it, I may.

Media content was always a bonus, only recently found you could download games as well for free.

I use Amazon a lot and the savings on delivery more than covers the cost, as they have given an option to continue for free, it's not a problem for me.

I love Prime, and we buy a LOT of stuff from Amazon being in the sticks with deliveries almost every day, so I'm happy with that. I suppose with me/us, we'll just not bother watching it as much or even at all.

I hate adverts, but Bosch Legacy was on one of their channels with adverts in it and I barely noticed it. Might be ok maybe?

On your recommendation a LOVED Bosch but though legacy was pants. I watched it so I suppose I must have ut up with the ads, honestly cannot remember.

  14. Finally got around to watching the Boiling Point series after enjoying the movie a year or so ago.

I thought it was really good and the kitchen scenes were incredibly real and well filmed.

In fact, we were both really enjoying it.

    And then it ended.

Either they have a second season already commissioned, they ran out of money or the writers are playing some elaborate joke, but I don't remember any series ending with so many loose ends. Weird.
