Regardless of his eventual contribution to our season we did sign a midfielder on loan in January from a Premier League club. And Warne has signed players from sides other than Rotherham when he was manager there. Players signing for the club won’t solely be about Warne, though he’ll play a large part in it all, there will be other factors considered by players joining permanently and any loans we may pursue.
You don’t like the man’s demeanour, fine, doesn’t mean other people in football won’t. Can’t we leave off the general sniping at Warne until the season has at least started? Or focus it specifically on things about last season you’d like to see improve?

B4, you've admitted you don't go abroad, or even have a passport so not sure you're in a great position to compare.
To say flights are £400 each is simply not true, you can go on RyanAir now and buy a flight to Barcelona cheaper than a match ticket at Barnsley.
I spent less going to Magaluf for a week all inclusive than I did to Ilfracombe (Devon) for the same time self catering. Not only that it was a 5hr drive compared to a 2 hour flight.
Also becoming friends with cottage owners in the UK is not a realistic way of saving money. You try ringing an owner through Hoseasons asking if they want to be your friend before booking, let me know how that works out for you.
End of the day, these footballers at Derby are on thousands a week, I'm not sure cost will be a factor when deciding where they want to go on holiday.
Just let the players do what they want, I'm sure you wouldn't like to be told where you have to go. 
If they are in Dubai, Derby or Dagestan really isn't any of your business. 

on reflection,i think not making the play offs has done us a favour.if we had gone up to the championship a bigger rebuild would have been needed,and i am absolutely convinced the efl would not of lifted the embargo and let us be competitive, as it is another season in league 1 is obviously seen as fitting punishment and we are now able to build for the future

Think the biggest issue with Byrne, is the way he went out the back door after being part of the squad that showed togetherness with the fans. He should've stuck around and if he so wished, informed LR of his intention and got us a few hundred thousand for the inconvenience. 
To add insult to injury, he's ended up going to a dead league and hardly featuring. Such a waste. 

The fact that he used the word stability gives me much hope
hope that unlike mel he wont bemd to public / social media opinion and sack the manager after the first set of bad results

We’re in good hands 

When a red card is rescinded because a player dived/simulated injury, that red card should be transferred to the player who has conned the ref. 
Would Marvin Johnson have gone over so easily yesterday if he thought it might cost him his shirt in the first leg of the playoffs? I think not. 

I can cope with decisions going against us but what is unacceptable to me has been the the decisions awarded against where there is simply nothing to discuss - not even any physical contact at all - now the players are to blame because they are nothing but cheats and they will forever know that they are cheats, it’s not simulation because it doesn’t exist in the rules it’s cheating and I want those players shaming every week with at least the same punishment as violent conduct 

It's not uniform incompetence though. Generally things should even out over a season. We have disproportionally suffered at the hands of the officials this season.
A situation not helped by opposition players theatrically throwing themselves to the ground on a regular basis.
Like it or not we are going to have to resort to the dark arts, if we want to get anywhere next season. Having morals doesn't get you promoted, we've been the victim of the dark arts from Plymouth, Ipswich and Sheff Wed, so they've probably being practicing this all season against other teams. These weaker officials without VAR back up are easier to con and we have to play the same have as everyone else.

Key players leaving isn’t the same as;
Key players will leave, and will be replaced, that’s typically what happens. While I’d be gutted to see the likes of Sibley, Knight, Bird or Cashin leave because they have talent and potential still, plus they’re home grown and I love the romance of a home grown player doing well for the team, none of them are irreplaceable. And the reality of where we are as a club is if they were top, top players we’d sell them and lose them anyway. 
 
Warne might not sign players who are individually as good as a Knight or Bird or Sibley, he also might surprise us and be able to find the odd gem, Barlaser was a decent pick up for Rotherham wasn’t he? So long as the players he does bring in can combine into a successful team that is more than the sum of its parts I’d accept that some players had to move on, that’s very much the nature of football. 

Why "judge more harshly" - why not just "judge?"

I actually think this could be a blessing in disguise....
If we'd been promoted, we would have really struggled to recruit decent Championship level players within the financial restraints that we'll be under next season (even assuming the EFL permitted us a bit more wriggle room) - it had the potential to be a horrible season with us spending most of the time in the lower reaches trying to fight off relegation. As it is, we will be after less-able (League One level) players, a lot of whom will have played at PP this season and will have liked what they've seen - we'll still be one of the biggest clubs in the division and we'll hopefully be able to recruit players to address the obvious gaps in the squad, permit us to have more options in the matchday squad, and really give it a go from the start of the season with a fully fit squad that have all had a proper pre-season (something we struggled with this year) - and if we do go up, we should be free of the EFL and their diktats when we start in the Championship to really give us a fair chance to compete....

You’ve clearly never met David Clowes. 

If this is it today, the end of our season, the players should leave the pitch with their heads held high.
A bunch of out of contract players, came together as a team over one summer and took us to the last day with a chance to be in the play offs.
Forget any frustrations or feeling of disappointment, we cannot ignore the context around this season.
It’s been incredible.
At 4pm, if we are in the play offs, what an unbelievable achievement that would be.. 
Whilst the football may not have been as sexy as it was under McClaren in 13/14, the greatest season in recent times, in my own personal hall of fame seasons this one would rank higher thanks to David Clowes, Liam Rosenior and Paul Warne.

What a terrible missed opportunity. So disappointing. Win and we'd be able to relax and look forward to a free hit next weekend, before the serious business begins. 
These players do not seem able to handle pressure. The long unbeaten run gave us a (very slim) shot at the top 2, but as soon as we came close we collapsed. It doesn't give me confidence. We don't seem to have enough winners in the team.

I know that you don't share my opinion even though your praise of White is just that he nearly cost us a goal. 😄He created nothing in midfield. Who is to say that another midfielder might not have offered more. Or even leave Bird or Hourihane on, we needed the experience on the pitch.

Just give it our best shot and enjoy the moment. Things could align for us, even though it doesn’t look like it at the moment.
After last season we can expect nothing more really.

How on Earth are we going to beat  any of the top teams over two legs.

We were supposed to have an end of season lap of honour that day but 28,000 legged it . I stayed behind waiting with my 2 young grandsons and a couple of thousand others . But no players came out. Mel  must have been giving one of his speeches.
