Maybe doing some coaching duties alongside the playing role

Chesterfield fans on their forum have suggested he might have coaching aspirations.

Having watched Chesterfield numerous times last season, he seems a solid, capable keeper imo. As experienced and reliable backup to call on if needed, signing him would appear to make sense. It certainly isn't another Chris Weale scenario

Just watched the Loach interview, spoke well as they all have, sounds like he understands he is here more than likely as backup and to play a part in supporting the goalkeeping group.
Leigh Curtis suggesting we’re in for another keeper probably confirms Loach as third choice.

This would seem to back up some of the fans comments on the Chesterfield forum that suggest he has coaching aspirations.

I watched him play quite a few times last season and he appears to be a capable keeper, certainly good enough to be a solid backup. He's better than some of the dismissive comments over on the transfer thread suggest.

I'll be honest (last season the exception as I bought a blank one), the only shirts I've got from the sponsorship era are ones where I've 'liked' the main shirt sponsor. British Midland, Bass, Auto Windscreens, Puma, EDS, Pedigree, The Derbyshire, Bombardier and Avon Tyres... and I'll be bidding for one of the ones used yesterday when they come up for auction too!

I used to alternate wearing the  'EDS' shirt with a 'Numan' shirt, just to let people know I'd got things under control...

  4. Stadium owner and Director of Football Wayne Rooney arrives at Pride Park in his new electric Rolls Royce, driven by chauffeur Jamie Vardy. Inside the stadium the Rams, led by new manager B4, clinch the Premier league title with a 1-0 win over Manchester City, the goal scored by club captain and legend Eiran Cashin. The game is watched by a record 48000 attendance following the recent opening of the new tier, however 4 fans miss the match as they are in the coronavirus thread 8 years after the last recorded case in the UK still arguing over wearing masks.

Oh, yes, he was at the Supporters Club night the weekend before, which is where I got my info from, had quite a long chat with him. I suspect he's just out of shot on this photo as Roger doesn't miss many DCFC occasions.

Is that Roger on the photo with Kristian Beilik?

I'm under the impression... rightly or wrongly... that indeed, no public funding would (need to) be spent?

Income from rent/rates etc should more than cover any loan repayments, and any subsequent sale would be at considerable profit, due to the (current) bargain asking price.
I've seen the phrase "Win-Win" a few times, in these discussions.

I'm not convinced the voting public need to concern themselves on this particular matter?  ?‍♂️

The voting public don't have a great record for thinking things through

Gotta feel for Chesterfield (at least I do). They were flying until their manager did something naughty and got sacked. Now there's a good chance they could miss out on the playoffs - or even at best, go into them with very poor form.

I was there yesterday and it was an almost 10k crowd and cracking atmosphere. As @Boycie says, they lost Tshimanga to injury in February and he is still the leagues top scorer which speaks volumes how important he is to them. Having said that they seem bereft of confidence in their play at the moment and are hanging onto the playoffs by their fingernails.

As a general point, the National League has been very competitive and entertaining this season

I know we have to say that this is our worst performance ever, everyone is terrible etc etc, but perhaps we could say that Millwall look much better than we expected??

Point is we don't have to say it, certainly not in the manner some posters do. The performance has been variously described as disgusting, disgraceful and every player should be ashamed of themselves already which is unnecessary and just plain wrong given the effort that these players have put in recently. You are right that Millwall have simply been much better so far and there are many justifiable reasons for this

I was on the understanding Reading accepted the 6 points with NO APPEAL?‍♂️

If the EFL took a unilateral decision to reinstate points then I suppose technically Reading haven't appealed. I have absolutely no idea of the legalities involved but I wouldn't put anything past them.
