Nookiebear1 reacted to Donnyram in Joe piggott - joined Ipswich
Will be a free agent as he’s turned down a new contract at Wimbledon. We’ve maybe got an advantage with Rooney in charge as he was born in Maidstone so highly likely he’s a Man Utd supporter ?

Would love to see a modern version of the bukta legend

Nookiebear1 reacted to MackworthRamIsGod in Lee Buchanan - Gone to Werder Bremen
Why? If I was in charge Buchanan would be 13 million and I would be commanding a lot more for Sibley and Knight. Those valuations are based on our general crapness when it comes to selling players. And the fact I wouldnt lose sleep if we lost the mentioned players, after this year I honestly think the club needs a great reset and I wouldn't be upset to lose anyone if it meant saving the club.
If I was in charge of Derbys recruitment back when we were splashing cash i would moved heaven and earth to sign Tom Cairney from Blackburn, a player I rated before he made a name at Fulham, Sergei Canos when he was at Liverpool and Alan Judge at Brentford. Whether they would have signed for us is another thing of course.

it does sound a bit like the EFL get to appeal until they get the outcome they want and then its all done and dusted

Nookiebear1 reacted to Big Trav in EFL appeal
I’m almost certain that this appeal was just so the efl could fine us and tell us to fix our amortisation policy. I swear that when we first won the case back in summer last year it was stated and known that if the appeal was successful there could be no points deduction

The words of MM. I heard he personally apologised to some fans outside PP yesterday for “ the season you’ve had to endure”.
I hope the Club can all get together soon - perhaps a Fans Forum to explain what’s in store for next season. I don’t know why but I have a great sense of optimism for us next year.

The actions will happen over the course of weeks, months even years.
Fans have been calling for an update from the club. That has been acknowledged by this statement. Hopefully, we will soon get to hear more details of the plans for moving forwards.
This is a start to opening that communication....a good thing.

Would make one change for this one, Mac for Rooney

Im sorry to say i agree, its sad but we need a change of ideas. Last roll of the dice. Lets give Mac one last go and hope we pick up some points
-
Nookiebear1 reacted to Duracell in Get him gone.
I agree in this instance, but we absolutely must stop rolling the dice after this. We've needlessly made stupid appointments. I absolutely detested our football under Gary Rowett, but that and Mac II were the only low-risk appointments we've made since sacking Mac I. Rowett's appointment made total sense and although I will never forgive him for selling Will Hughes, the results on the pitch justified the appointment.
Stop hiring inexperienced managers at this level who will inevitably make mistakes. It's fine for young managers to make errors and learn lots about themselves for their future career, but PLEASE, can they do that in the Indian Premier League and not with Derby County.*
*see also for coaching staff, CEOs etc.

On reflection, perhaps sacking the manager because his team couldn't score a goal and then replacing him with one of the creative players who was part of the team which couldn't score a goal, it seems pretty obvious why we cannot score a goal.
Until recently, our defending hasn't been that bad. Nowhere near good enough to challenge of course, but it's not the reason why we're down here. We are now capitulating and that too is part of the problem and what will condemn us - 1-0 defeats are now turning into 3-0s.
We'd give ourselves a fighting chance if we could shoot. Not score - shoot. I've seen fussball tables with more dynamic movement than this lot.
Cocu didn't understand the limitations of our players and I've seen enough to tell that Rooney doesn't understand other footballers either. Perhaps the fact they were his peers this season doesn't help. That's most of the job - getting the players and understanding what makes them tick. Nigel Clough actually doesn't understand most footballers, or perhaps doesn't care for them, so makes sure he builds a team he can understand. Steve McClaren is an excellent coach because he understands how footballers think.
That's what we need for the last 3 games. Just any human being who can give instructions concise enough to give these players some confidence and togetherness to keep us alive. Rooney, at this stage of his career, is not up to it.

Dont worry he has a master plan for the last 3 games........

Nookiebear1 reacted to Rev in Get him gone.
Sorry Wayne, your time is up.
Mac III, IIII, VI I don't care which version we call on, just get it done.
3 games to go, one experienced manager on the payroll, no point him sitting in the stands watching the useless spud-headed Scouser take us down.

Nookiebear1 reacted to May Contain Nuts in Get him gone.
It's his ******** bravado "we won't go down" thing a couple of weeks ago that's really pissed me off, fine if you can back it up and show that you've motivated the players and given them some belief in themselves, and that they believe in you bu otherwise it's just empty words that you you look like a complete rick when there's nothing to show for them. ducking *********.

Probably just Cardiff still being bitter about that game postponed for snow right? Yeah, it's definitely that.

I’d take Mac over Rooney any day of the week.
Or put them together we can have Macarooney

Nookiebear1 reacted to Carnero in El DerbyCo
Any country as long as the player is good enough and meets the work permit criteria. All that has changed is that all countries are now treated the same (except for additional points given for countries of a higher footballing standard). I'm sure Brentford will continue bringing in players from here there and everywhere so why can't we do the same?
-
Nookiebear1 reacted to mwram1973 in El DerbyCo
I don't think he'll rock the boat this season, so he was always going to say he puts his trust in him but I have a sneaking suspicion that he'll now go at the end of the season.

Wel be the only club who sells young players without sell on fees. You can see it now can’t you.

Nookiebear1 got a reaction from therealhantsram in El DerbyCo
Chances are these days any takeover will be done by someone fronting an investment group. To me they all seem dodgy. I always think of Keith with his train set but thats just how football has gone.
I cant see this being anymore dodgy than the fake sheik and his vanishing millions

Anyone remember when Mel said he'd only sell if he was certain the people coming in would do right by Derby County?
Yeah, me too ....

Nookiebear1 reacted to MACKWORTHRAM in Kaide Gordon - signed for Liverpool
Stephen Pearce was on Radio Derby last week saying we would only sell if it made financial sense.
Selling one of the best 16 year olds in the country for £1 million makes no financial sense at all.
I don't care what financial situation we are in this is disgusting.
If he's that good. Which he obviously is (already training with the first team and Rooney said he's one of the best in training)
Then you keep hold of him and get him in the first team next year.
Just like Birmingham did with Jude Bellingham. He was on of the best 16 year olds in the country. One season in the first team and he's off for £35 million.
I mean it's pretty clear that everything Stephen Pearce said on the Radio was a lie.

Can’t believe we’ve sold this lad and Delap for two million combined, to the two richest clubs in the world ?
