B4, please read this carefully as it’s been said a few times and you look very silly ignoring it!

it does not matter how much money we want to spend or how rich the owners might be, as part of the deal we will be limited by rules on how much we can spend on players and wages!

There are businesses only being paid 35p (over 3 years) for every £1 Derby owe them.

To put this into context, pretend I owe you £1000. Now imagine I’m only going to pay you £120 this year, £120 next year and £110 in two years, you won’t be getting the remaining £650 I owe you because I say that I can’t afford it. Now imagine that at the same time as paying you only £120, you find out I’ve spent £2000 on buying the same thing you sold me but from someone else. You’d be upset right??
well, to prevent this happening, EFL force clubs coming out of administration to sign up to a business plan limiting spending and budgets. If the club doesn’t stick to it, point deductions and embargos happen.

So please please stop saying Derby will spend decent money. We wont. It’s not allowed.

Hear hear. Although, I don’t really see the point of unleashing hell on Mel. Once the ground ownership has been sorted can’t we just forget about him and move on? Continuing to harbour and vent anger our anger against Mel isn’t going to be healthy or helpful. I’d say let’s make this the post Mel era and look forwards not back.

It's not all about money either. You couldn't blame anyone wanting to play at a higher level.
    Football careers are short.
I wouldn't be annoyed at anyone leaving. I think we should all be grateful for their fantastic efforts this season. None of them owe us anything.

It’s easy to tell Wayne they want to stay. It’s also easy to disappear behind an agent when a contract expires.
I’m praying we can keep hold of them all obviously

There’s so much in a statement like that. Having seen the ticker tape head line it fills you with pride.
All those thoughts of loyalty, a shared experience that has undoubtedly been there come to the fore.
A desire for that huge adrenaline high you get from working with guys who you know work for you, all with a common goal. It’s called a team and it’s magical. We all experience it (if we are lucky) at some point in our lives. There isn’t much that can touch it. I feel great just reading about it. It cements the truth of what we have seen in the ground as the season unfolded.
Reality does kick in though. People have hopes dreams aspirations .. So maybe 4 grand a week sounds good to most of us but if you get offered twice that and a chance at the big time where world names play ? It all depends what you are .. At 60 something I can see more joy, sense and satisfaction by sticking with it .. As a young man full of power and dreams, the nobility and joy of sticking around wouldn’t be anything like as strong.
.. If you go,  I say good luck, and thanks for the memories.
If you stay … you’ve just earned your first chip in the legend stakes .. You might have been a stat in the employees book but by not walking away,  generations might just remember and revere you long after you are gone. I won’t forget this season or this team. Special moment in my sporting life.

Hopefully the positive, encouraging and appreciative attitude of our large fan base plays a small part in them wanting to stay. This group of players are fortunate to have us and we are fortunate to have them.

All the very best for the coming season and beyond.I hope Rooney sticks by you with a decent owner on board he has a good a chance as anybody to get you back up.Your fans have been superb through this crap period.Things can change very quick in football and sometimes for the better, look at us in the so called best league in the world the Premier league for another season.Although my opinion of  the PL ( I’ve missed 2 games this season )is it’s the fatal attraction of clubs who risk everything to get to the tv cash when for us fans it’s a bland predictable bore fest unless you are a top 4 club the rest just make up the numbers.I won’t shed a tear when we eventually get back to the championship a far better and more competitive league to play in.Hope to be playing you at Pride Park again soon.

This season has been one of, if not, the best in my 27 years as a ST holder. The bond built between the club and the fans is unbelievable. But most importantly for me is how my lads have taken to it. I was worried I was losing the younger one to Chelsea (Mason Mount link) through covid. But this season, especially since Xmas he has absolutely loved it, singing and shouting all game and now wanting to go away too, he’s had a ST for 4 years but has really got black and white in the blood now. Same with the oldest, at nearly 16 it’s not cool for him to come out with me but he is now the same wanting to attend all the games home and away and even a ST next year.

Thanks to Wayne, the staff and the players for bringing this club as tight knit as it has ever been. Let’s get the takeover complete and see what the summer brings.

LeedsRam1999 reacted to LeedsCityRam in Rooney shouldn’t be allowed to bring in the players he wants
There's merit in the underlying principle but the title of the thread is probably going to get some folks' back up.
Given what he has to had to put up with this season, Rooney deserves the opportunity to bring his own players into the club in a stable environment. Lets not forget the club has been hollowed out & so there is a massive job on to rebuild the first team & under 23 squad...Rooney's connections and draw will be crucial to entice players here so we can hit the ground running in League One. This is absolutely not the time to put restrictions on him other than a budget.
Going forward, yes it would be wise to have a Director of Football who recruits players on a manager's behalf but that appointment should only be made with Rooney's full buy in as a faciltator, not a restriction. The key point though is hiring a manager (when Rooney goes) who plays a very similar style of football to Rooney...it is the idiotic idea that you can bring in a manager with a totally different playing style that wastes money & necessitates squad rebuilds/wasted players.

Dear lord what a sad little life.
You ruined our season completely just because you wanted to relegate us. I hope you now spend next season getting some lessons in grace and decorum because you have all the grace of a reversing dump truck with no tyres on.
Take your league and leave us alone now.

Disappointed to finally have relegation confirmed tonight but it was always the most likely outcome.
Looking ahead to L1, assuming the takeover happens, I'd love us to avoid being that club who thinks we will walk the league and beat all comers.
We are set for the biggest squad overhaul we've ever seen which will be HUGELY unpredictable. We will have a target on our backs all season long, and there are some big clubs here who have more experience of the slog than we do.
I'm hoping that in August I am confident and think we can compete for promotion, but let's just temper expectations for now and keep the "everything is a bonus" approach, its contributed to the best season ever for atmosphere.

Big game tomorrow. We win and results go in our favour, things look a lot better. The chance is there to do the impossible. As Rooney said, he believes we can do it and we must get right behind the players as the fans are the 12th man.
We take each game as it comes and will go all out for the win. There's always a team at the end of the season that goes on a run. There's no reason why that can't be us.
    We'll fight till the end.

LeedsRam1999 reacted to Day in Please don't go on the pitch tomorrow.
There has been social media campaigns to see fans on the pitch. Bringing attention to our dire situation.
Going on the pitch tomorrow will only hurt the club, as in the staff, management and players.
Quantuma, EFL, will not have a sleepless night.
We are in desperate times, I understand, feel the frustration and anger.
I have created this topic using my own voice, my own thoughts with no communication from anyone at the club in the hope it keeps some fans off the pitch.
Just one fan, using his own voice asking you all to stop and think.
There has to be better ways in letting our voices be heard without affecting  the team.
So far this season, the one positive we can take is the support for this club, it's been second to none.
There is one man tomorrow that deserves that same level of support, one man that does not deserve to see his remaining games abandoned for crowd trouble.
    Wayne Rooney.
    Come on Derby!
