Let's have a GOOD News update.
Meikles x rays have been reviewed by a doggie hip specialist and he doesn't need an operation imminently.
He's been referred back for physiotherapy and we have restarted his exercising.
To reward him, we took him with us down to the jurassic coast last week on holiday and he had a whale of a time.
Here he is admiring the view from our cabin....

And enjoying a bit of a chill with our dog and looking up for it.

We're really pleased that he's back on the program as he had been barred from going on the little arranged trips with the other assistance pups. So he's about 3 months behind where he should be.
Never mind, he's okay we think and his walking and running are improving daily.
This cheers me up a little in these difficult times, so hope they help cheer others up.
    Take care All

Even the BBC website's headline yesterday was about how Rooney wouldn't have taken the job if he had known the full financial situation.
The headline should have been that the administrators are positive about finding new ownership - but that doesn't get as many 'clicks'

Exactly this. He criticised specific aspects of his recent relationship, when asked directly.
Odd words are then taken out of context and made into headlines in the media. If all people ever do is listen to or read this narrative, then they believe - and repeat - something completely different.
Always makes me angry. Not sure who with, the media, I think!

Apologies if this has been explained already but.....
Please could somebody tell me why a potential buyer would find it more attractive (cheaper) to buy the club out of administration
    - as opposed to -
buying it from Mel given that, if I understand correctly, adminstration does not remove non-footballing debt (which will be the majority: HMRC, MSD).
And there'd be no 12 point deduction in the latter case.
In addition, if Mel cares so much, why doesn't he clear those debts and give the club away?
That's easy for me to say, of course, but if it's only 30 mill out of his net worth of 500 mill, having already put in > 200 mill, then to him it's not a massive amount.
And Mel would then be lauded, not slammed.

I assume that the EFL could now just impose their chosen penalty on us as they know we have nobody to pay the defence legal bill
That is a question I would have liked answered by Mel Morris yesterday " Now you are walking away, What now happens to the outstanding EFL charges against us & how do we defend them? "

Unfortunately the late Sean Lock, about 10 yrs ago in the Darwin suite. He was just off and I can't recall whether this happened before or after one of the audience make a big fuss of puking everywhere during the performance.

I admire these sentiments and your refusal to take a defeated brain state. If Wayne and the players do this, we could feel much closer to them and prouder of them. However, to get to January in decent shape will be very difficult. Then we will lose all our assets. Even if we can trade, the disruption is huge. It would be one of the greatest escapes ever if we didn't get relegated.  We should fight it but not fear it.  Sadly I fear this season is mostly meaningful in terms of how we reset and rebuild and who will be involved. This is a painful but riveting part of the ongoing epic story of our club. The rebuild and restoration could be thrilling and more meaningful for it.

I understand that tonight many questions will be asked, both of the club and myself.
Tonight as the news was broke, I was sat in the pub, still am, it's hit me hard as I'm sure it has you all, I was not expecting it, there was no pre warning, no hint of what was to come.
I also understand that over the years my opinion has been questioned, it's something I have had to deal with, sometimes poorly, but with the best and honest of intentions.
Tonight I am hurting, just as much as you all, this is the club I love, the club I adore, the club I have tattooed on my hand for all to see with pride.
I love this club, please just think when posting over the next few days, weeks in anger, myself, the moderators, we do not deserve to be on the end of your anger or frustration.
Today is a dark day for the club, but as fans, we need to to stick together. We are Derby County, every one of us and we will move forward as one.

Andrew3000 reacted to Sheff Ram in How's everyone feeling this morning?
I know we all knew there were issues with the finances and the accounts and we were going to cop a points deduction. But did any of us think it would be this bad?
Maybe we were all in denial. But with the likleyhood of a minus 21 points deduction and certain relegation the shock waves reach beyond this. This season will be a dead rubber, Rooney is unlikely to stay (can't blame him TBH) and we'll sell players in the January transfer window.
I'm sure what the future looks like will start to unfold in coming weeks and months. When I woke up this morning I felt like I was still I'm the middle of a bad dream. But no. It's reality. The future of the club we all love and cherish is teetering at the brink.
So this one goes out to all of you fellow Rams fans. Take care, try and stay positive and in adversity let's stick together as this wonderful club has some of the best fans in the land.
    Yours Sheff Ram x

He's still very raw, but in the few games he played at the start of the season, I felt Ebosele offered us something no-one else in the team currently has: the ability to beat a man through sheer pace.
Should he be in the starting XI when fit, or is he more of a bench option? And is he a full-back/wing back, or a player to be used further forward?

Under-23s draw 3-3 in cup clash
Derby County's Under-23s conceded two late goals to draw 3-3 away to Norwich City in the Premier League Cup.
Coach Pat Lyons named three trialists in the squad in Brad Burton, Reece Hutchinson and Ali Al Hamadi while recent signing from Rangers, Malcolm Ebiowei, was among the substitutes.
Derby took the lead after 15 minutes through Osazee Aghatise and although Tom Dickson-Peters equalised just before the break, striker Bartosz Cybulski put the Rams 2-1 up in added time at the half.
Al Hamadi converted a penalty to stretch Derby's lead in the second half after he was brought down, but Dickson-Peters scored twice more to complete his hat trick and pull Norwich level.
The Rams are in Group C of the competition alongside Norwich, Charlton Athletic and Reading.
Their next Premier League Cup fixture is on Monday, October11, against Charlton Athletic at Loughborough (7pm kick-off).
Derby COUNTY U23s: Foulkes;, Burton, R Hutchinson, L Thompson, Bardell, Cashin, S Thompson, Clarke, Cybulski, Dixon, Aghatise.
Subs: Solomon, Randle, Grewal-Pollard, Ebiowei, Al Hamadi.

Andrew3000 reacted to Carnero in Positives on the injury front
    Q) How close is Jason Knight to starting? Is he ready to start?
Rooney: Yes, Knighty is a top professional; he has worked extremely hard while he has been off injured. There are no issues whatsoever with his fitness levels, even though he has been out for a while. If I need him to play, he will be ready to play.
    Q) How is Festy Ebosele, who has had a knee problem?
Rooney: He is improving. He should be training with us back end of this week or early next week.
    Q) How is Krystian Bielik's recovery going?
Rooney: Krystian is doing really well. He is on the grass with the ball at his feet, and he is on track with his injury. I am pleased. He seems to be in a better place, as well. He has been coming to the away games, being around the team, which is great to have him around the other players.
    Q) And how is Colin Kazim-Richards' recovery going?
Rooney: Colin is out of his (protective) boot and off his crutches now and doing his recovery work. After the next international break, we can assess where he is, and then it shouldn't be that long after the international break.

No matter how bad it gets, you have to live in hope that the good times will return.
Here are a few examples of current Premiership teams who've had recent bad times :
    Man City - 3rd division in 2001
    Leicester City - Bankrupt & 3rd division in 2008/09
Leeds United - Bankrupt in 2007 and 3rd division for 3 seasons to 2010
Southampton - Bankrupt and 3rd division in 2009
Brighton - no ground and 3rd division up to 2011
    Wolves - 3rd division in 2014/15
