nottingram got a reaction from Miggins in Mk Dons Vs Derby County Player Ratings
Wildsmith 7.5 - two excellent saves and a bonus half point for getting their player booked at the end with a bit of shithousery that made me laugh out loud
Forsyth 8 - excellent performance
Hourihane 7 - competent from open play but very good delivery from set pieces earned us 2 goals
Stearman 6 - not much to say
Bird ? 7.5 - excellent assist, like Hourihane mostly just competent otherwise. Individually, possibly being wasted a touch with the style but hard to complain
Collins 7 - didn’t do a huge amount but excellent finish
McGoldrick 6 - not much to say, few good touches
Mendez-Laing 9 - excellent performance and great goal
Thompson 6 - helped us manage the game very well at 3-1
Smith 6 - struggled but not his fault. Fine as a defensive minded right back, certainly not a wing back. Not able to stretch play at all
Roberts 7.5 - very good, suits the role on the side of a 3
Sibley 6.5 - disciplined performance out of position
Dobbin 6.5 - shame about his disallowed goal, desperately needs one. Often looks dangerous
Osula 6 - not much to say
Rooney 7.5 - little shaky to start with but excellent debut

nottingram got a reaction from Dordogne-Ram in Paul Warne appointed as Head Coach
And if you asked people outside of a matchday thread where things are a bit calmer whether they want Warne sacked then I reckon the vast vast majority would say no, of course not.
I’m more than happy to give him time and support but I don’t see why we need to mitigate any poor performances under him any more than we did Rosenior. Man City under 9’s beat us convincingly at home, it’s going to attract some criticism just like Friday night should where we didn’t lay a glove on a team who’d just been beaten at home by Lincoln. But it doesn’t mean he’s under pressure, I’m confident he’ll be given time, as he should.
The system he wants to play doesn’t suit a few of our players, it’s not his fault but some flexibility would be nice.

I’m guessing you if you’ve opened the thread about him!

nottingram got a reaction from angieram in No repeat offenders.
Pratting about with it at the back seems to be a common criticism of the style under Rosenior but I don’t recall us conceding many goals doing it, maybe Cashin trying to control a high ball leading to Plymouth’s winner?
However, under Warne we’ve conceded doing it against Port Vale and Ipswich. Under Rosenior, Wildsmith’s position used to be a decent mitigation for it as he was always high up as an extra option and ready to sweep up if needed, but that was often criticised too. If he’d been higher up against Ipswich their goal would’ve probably been avoided.

If I had to guess I reckon he’d say he felt that largely away performances were okay and we had bouts of bad luck notably against Charlton where Collins and Knight were guilty of missing very good chances, which he can’t control, and against Fleetwood where Cashin and Knight also missed good chances. Plus Lincoln where Barkhuizen missed a sitter and we had two goals questionably chalked off for offside.
Besides if you believe what you read on here we did change our approach v Wycombe and put in a really good performance so maybe he was willing to compromise after all, and maybe that’s all that was needed.
Never mind! I hope he does well at Hull and of course I hope our new manager does well here!
