The thought of Rhodes, McCormack, Grabban and Eastwood all shacked up in caravan on a lay-by on the A38 for the 23/24 season is what dreams are made of.

Shame this game was selected for him instead of end of season. Rather he played teams from his playing times - that would generate a bigger turn out

Jordan Rhodes? Why don’t we pull Freddy Eastwood out of retirement while we’re at it.

He’s not that good. But I understand he isn’t being considered for his goal prowess but to run the channels. He also has a good sob story so should settle in well.

I’ve noticed baraslar can leave Middlesbrough. Could see warne going for him as the midfield option

I started looking into strikers who had a lot of early promise, but as of yet haven’t hit the ground running in senior football. One name caught my eye - Tyreece John-Jules.
A good size, athletically impressive but with the football ability to match. He started well for Ipswich last season, well liked by their fans, but injuries really cost him his chance of developing further. Now, there are rumours that he may join them permanently but I’d like to think we could jump in and offer him a more immediate route to regular football.
No idea what Arsenal want, but would assume he’s cheap and available. He’s in the last year of his contract and now wants somewhere to settle - https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/22461118/arsenal-transfer-news-tyreece-john-jules-ipswich/
In terms of value and upside, I doubt there will be many better options available to us this summer in that position.

As a person I thought he was outwardly annoying but underneath probably a decent-ish bloke.
As a player he was a waste of money.  Charged around playing to the crowd without ever putting a tackle in or remotely achieving anything.
Redeemed himself in some people's eyes by being mediocre (at best) for even longer on the pitch for the same amount of money.

Well first of  all you assume that your striker replacement is going to play all 44 games without injury and without needing a rest after chasing the ball upfield for 70 minutes. To get another 44 games out of someone we need to sign two strikers. You might count Washington as a striker but really he is more of a support  player I think.

Also I think we need to factor in that Fozzy will play less minutes this coming season he is getting on a bit now.
You also left out White who came into midfield. And Chester played the odd game too.

I did say Collins would be a stretch financially but so would Ladapo and with a higher chance of future resale. We need a CF who will create as well as score, let J. Collins stay in the box.
Dack has had injuries, just like McGoldrick had. You would have to manage him through a season, but he is quality, you need one player in your squad with that little bit of magic.
As for Bernard, whoever we sign will now be a back up, which shortens your list. You can coach someone to defend better, you can't coach someone to have real pace.

I think sibley is more than good enough as a number 10 and LWB option tbh, worth keeping around.

I’m breaking my own rules by excluding Knight even though his departure has not been confirmed yet, so I’m now at:
    Wildsmith
    Nelson - Bradley - Cashin
    Ward - Smith - Hourihane - Bird - Elder
    Collins - Washington

Of those three central midfielders I’d have hourihane furthest forward.

As by far the leading club in the division with, according to our chairman, a healthy budget, its a shame if we need to consider loaning anyone. We have professional people whos job it is to find talent from anywhere in the world for the short or long term benifit of the club. I'll wait a little longer before I start twitching but I'm very suprised we havent completed the vast majority of our business early.

Massive respect to everyone who travels for the Rams home games. I spent nearly 20 years in a similar position but the efforts of @Inverurie Ram and @MadAmster to pick two are way above and beyond the call of duty.
I am though slightly disappointed that after two decades of an inferiority complex because I didn’t have a season ticket, I’m now not allowed to be smug 😂
And finally capitalists? You mean like the ones that have done such a fine job of running the country over the past five years? Here’s an idea. I’m not likely to move my 9 year old son and myself from the North (West) stand into the South Stand at any point regardless of capacity or pricing. How does that fit with your immutable laws of supply and demand? Thought so.
