Not at all.  I have it on good authority, via this forum, that he has no pull with players.  They don't want to play for him - simple as.  Any players he signs will clearly be desperate following being released.

It’s in order to wind people up on internet forums.

The abilities of social media stalking tells me he got married on the 1st June.
So if he signed before that, then it shows we had some business done way back in May.
Makes the bed-wetting over no signings even funnier.

Reading some of the above comments,  as some of us say after every new signing - give the guy a chance before slagging him off please!

Paul Warne's first "proper" signing and should resolve a problem position for us.I'll trust Warne's judgment ahead of a few cynical moaners.

It's steady. I'm not disappointed or thrilled either, just have to see how he plays. What I will say is though... it was on a free, he won't be on a fortune and we didn't have a player who could play in his position in the squad. So for all those reasons, it ticks a lot of boxes.

I don’t think Warne, Thomas and the recruitment team can really win at the moment.
If we get the players in quickly and then when some don’t work out, we’ll be told the club didn’t do their homework.
If we leave it late and then when some don’t work out, we’ll be told the club weren’t proactive enough or made many panic buys.
If we sign proven players and then when some don’t work out, we’ll be told the club should have unearthed some gems.
If we sign unproven players and then when some don’t work out, we’ll be told the club should have shown more ambition and signed players with pedigree.
Let’s show some patience and give Warne some time to actually realise his plans and deal with the task at hand.
Are we still a draw? Of course we are. Our very own manager left a stable club in a higher division because of our standing and potential.

...but you've displayed no real evidence , as has been pointed put, that Anya did that either. Just a passing thought that he 'must' have had offers.
Anya wouldn't have been a semi-regular on an international team (even if it was Scotland... who let's be fair rely on effort more than talent) without "putting a shift in".
if he wasn't being selected for other reasons that's nothing to do with him.
I'm not trying to have a pop at you or your views, I just think sometimes people need to be a bit more considerate and stop holding players to expectations based upon the money they're paid, the fee that's been paid for them, or anything else.

Why do you call him a cockroach? My understanding, which is limited admittedly, is that he was signed on a transfer fee with instalments based on appearances/milestones. It was the club who didn’t want to play him rather than him not wanting to play. He kept himself fit, and played for the youth teams, therefore I think you are being harsh. I would have probably sat on my contract in his situation. Another Mel classic signing for a manager he got rid of a few weeks later.
