I started going at the end of the Arthur Cox era so had the pleasure of being there thorough the Lionel Pickering years. For me, they were great times and whilst I missed out on the true glory years, My son (who's 21) knows he missed out on Stimac, Ace, et al. Really exciting signings, some great players (relatively speaking) and a good mix of ups and downs.
The low point was the embarrassing post-Billy Davies Prem season closely followed by anything to do with the three amigos. Obviously the Mel Morris era tops that but we're now on the up and I think it's going to be a great season.

My first game as a Rams fan was in 1955 in the third division north I was 13. I bought my first season ticket in 1966 the last season of Tim Ward as manager and the first season of Kevin Hector(the King). I have never wavered in my love for Derby County, so in those 68 years I have seen the best and the worst of them. And I enjoyed last season as much as the first. And speaking of the King my wife and I have received a card from the King and Queen this morning on our 60th wedding anniversary. UTR.

Must be able to run for 90mins, Have a great attitude, Able to get on with other players, Does as he's asked by the coaching team, Eats his greens, Doesn't mop his plate up with a slice of bread, Doesn't slurp his tea, Must be able to drive, Must be able to salute Sir David Clowes at every opportunity and doesn't mind doubling up in bed when away on a training camp...and finally not after a great wage 😁 

Ok but you know what I mean. Not digging at the club, just saying I'd have thought PW would be mad keen to get 'em in early. Obviously not that simple

It does seem a bit weird given PW's focus on fitness that we're a few weeks into pre-season and we don't have more signings through the door. It's not like we didn't know the end of the season was coming. Back in the day, they'd be loads of signings on the first day of player expiry as deals were done way before contract expiry (as they often do in the Prem).
 

We have something broadly in common. He has resigned from 69 companies (possibly a life times work) and I am resigned to never having a 69 again in my remaining life time.

According to Companies House, he resigned 15th May 2023. On the same date he resigned from 68 other Companies so something is going off but feels like we're heading into dangerous territory for the forum (I.E. sharing potentially semi-personal data (albeit publicly available)) so I'll leave it there. Suspect it's not DCFC related.

Not to sure who was the Highest ever but Anya wages was the most money wasted in the entire history of Derby County

maybe if we were to get him hes coming im under the role of option striker and if he can win a place then happy days 
if ur old enough to remember jim
smith had trollope and sean flynn as back ups to powell and RVdL .. neither were getting in ahead of those two but when the toils of the season kicked in and injuries and suspensions kicked in you need a squad who are willing to play that second fiddle role but step up and give their all when required 

Is heartening to read the comments apropos Clowes didn't expect promotion last season and wanted some stability first and foremost.
Puts into context all of the petulant plebs on here throwing their teddies out of their prams that we didn't even make the playoffs last season when we had the best squad, best support yada yada and all down to the deficiencies of the manager that Clowes was also desperate to get to join the club. 
Shame on you all 

You know what's gonna happen now right? 
He'll stay injury free for a season and a half, boss the championship and get a 20 million move to some lower end prem team.

He is the one I would have been considering a loan again with a view to a permanent transfer

Being in the 3rd division helps

Not sure I’m on board with us signing a guy that sends dodgy texts to his 15 year old babysitter. Read somewhere that he’s retired anyway. 

Shows how eager we all are for signings! Fingers crossed for a triple announcement today!

My lad went to school with him. Says he’s a really nice fella and a good pro. Not sure why he wasn’t at our academy
