Same crazies….like the club? See below tweet.
We lost the tie against Liverpool on penalties, but the 90 minute match ended in a draw and as several other posters have commented that’s the accepted measure within football. The last team to beat us in a 90 Minute game of football was Ipswich Town, 16 games ago

Some really interesting things in there. So many away games in the first half of those fixutures. We really fought during those games and picked up lots of good away points/results.
The goals conceeded is just becoming incredible. We've also done it without ever really been negative and now we are scoring lots of goals too. I went to the MK Dons game and it really felt we needed a win from that game. The signs weren't good when they scored early by running straight through the middle of the park. We have conceeded 2 goals in the next 10 games from that point onwards!
Obviously going win/loss/win/loss gets you more points than 4 draws. But those hard fought draws have turned us into a team who now believes we won't lose, or even conceed. This base is something we haven't had for ages. Even in Lampard season, we were so inconsistent. Can't remember us going on many good unbeaten runs with Rowett either. We've been inconsistent for years, except for Mac 1 really. If I remember rightly, we started acculminating points quietly when he first joined, with the great performamces coming a bit later on.
I remember on @Steve Bloomer's Washing a few games back them talking about most our home games had been against the top teams. This led to some tough home games and defeats, but also away games vs weaker teams who parked the bus.
We have now started playing some of those weaker teams at home and over powering them. How we do away at the better teams will decide if we stick in the playoffs or push on to challenge for automatic.
    Good times.

lets move on and look ahead instead of trying to revisit the past.

shinnie was fine for us, some great performances some so so.

So hope not. Was really pleased when he left as he was so limited compared with our other midfielders. I would put him behind Bielik, Sibley, Knight, Smith, Bird and Hourihane in our pecking order, possibly competing with Thommo.

This makes sense. It doesn't look as if we'll get a lot of football out of Davies or Chester. Seemingly Warne doesn't fancy Roberts. If we buy Nelson we can move Fozzy to left back and move Sibley into midfield. That's such an important change to give us more attacking energy and drive and goal-scoring threat in the middle.

It helps when songs are sung that everyone will join in with. Not everyone wants to sing about Collymore's broken leg, players having large penises or references to fighting.

I dunno. There's more charitable men than me on this forum then, as I can't help but resent the glaringly obvious lack of affinity he has for a club that's paid him big dollar through two prolonged sets of rehab, then let him wander off to chase a WC dream. I don't expect him to stay given his lofty ambitions, but for the last few months he's been talking like he's already left.
I understand his aims, so please resist the urge to sermonise me, but if an employer looks out for me and even when simply contracted, some have, then some gratitude at least would not go amiss, if loyalty is too much of a stretch. Gimme a Fozzy over his ilk any day.

Is this not just football? I mean we’re not out here employing the likes of Klopp and Guardiola, there will always be debates on every appointment with some not understanding why we went there.
We don’t have the best track record ourselves, look at the Pearson appointment, by far the most popular at the time. Couple of months later everyone is questioning why we went there.
For what it’s worth, I think it’s kinda obvious why we went for a manager with a great track record in getting teams promoted from League 1. It’s a dogfight down here, was never going to be attractive football.
We’re not here to establish ourselves as a League 1 side, nor are we building a team for the future with loans and free transfers. We risk losing some of our young talent in the summer if we don’t go up.
Clowes clearly thought Warne gives us a better chance of promotion than Rosenior, we can all sit here and agree or disagree yet it’s only one opinion that really matters, Clowes. His money, his decisions.

As much as I dislike the Paul Warne appointment, I'm not going to start ranting and raving about Mr Clowes no matter what. He saved our club from extinction. The man should have his own statue and street named after him. I'm forever grateful to the man.
He might mistakes, as every owner does, he's the best owner in the country as far as I'm concerned.

Level of communication? What was communicated to me loud and clear was the new owner was prepared to use a massive chunk of his own money to save the club that was on the verge of extinction, that’s all the communication I need for a while and I don’t really feel I should be demanding more especially to allow me to pick apart his plans to move us forward away from the cliff edge

I like most on here have watched years of football and seen thousands of players but sometimes you don't appreciate how good a player is until he plays for your team.
Nathaniel Mendez Laing falls into that category for me. I've always considered him a bit of a flighty player who is largely anonymous, a bit lazy but who might get you an occasional goal. Having now watched him for a dozen or so games I think that he is a quality player, with bags of skill, a team ethic and who isn't afraid to work his socks off. I'm surprised how many of our goals he seems to be at the heart of.
In my opinion he is probably our signing of the summer and if we are going to be successful it will be due, in a large part to him.

I’ll be one of the first to admit I wasn’t exactly enthralled by the idea of having Wildsmith as a number 1 when he signed. I’m sure many others will be in the same position.
I was expecting and hoping another keeper to come in and that Wildsmith would be a good back up, but obviously that never happened.
I think he’s been excellent this season and is yet to really make a glaring error. For a keeper that’s spent most of his career as a substitute, I think he’s stepped up brilliantly.
He’s been one of our better additions this summer, I feel like he deserves some recognition for how he’s started his time here with us.

I might get some pelters here but personally I think the potential appointment of Paul Warne is possibily the best option available to us at this stage of our " rebirth ".

LR clearly was influential in WR's team, some even suggested he was THE tactician in the set-up. Our away form was woeful last season, and continues to be so. There's absolutely no chance of promotion repeatedly making the same mistakes away from home.

If you've not listened the the BBC podcast Moment Of Truth, where he and Oxford's Karl Robinson were mic'ed up for the second half of last season, I suggest you do. He is a supreme man manager. Direct yes - very!  A complete sweary-Mary, but he can get players to run through brick walls for him. He knows what levers to pull for each of his players. I think we're all agreed we have one of the better squads in our division, but Paul Warne has done much more with lesser players and less than half our budget in this division. I listened to the podcast and did think he would be just the sort of motivator that would be ideal for us at this level. As much as I admire LR's loyalty , if you've ever seen the cameras in the dressing room, he's very vanilla and I'd even suggest uninspiring .

" But he plays hoofball doesn't he, Paul Warne? " I hear some cry. He plays with what he's got and the budget he's got.  I think he'd be licking his lips at the opportunity to work with our squad. One thing I'd be confident of, based on what I've heard of him when he was mic'ed ( is that even a word? ) up is that nothing will be left on the pitch. He demands it from every player.

I'll take that with our squad. If we're not good enough in the final analysis, I'll accept that. But it won't be for the lack of Paul Warne pushing them to their limits and accepting anything less than 100% from every player. Oh, and his track record in this division isn't too shabby, so he's not all talk.

I like everything David Clowes has done so far, measured, not knee-jerk, but I believe he's seen enough to be brave when change is needed.

We will certainly be in for a hell of a ride if we do appoint him.

DC, you've got huge gonads Sir. I applaud you.

LR was only interim manager. It’s not like we gave him the job full-time in the summer and are sacking him now.
    This isn’t a sacking.
It’s hiring a full-time manager to replace the interim manager.
I thought LR would get the job permanently. But there are several potential reasons why he hasn’t.
    Warne has promotion pedigree.
And anybody who has seen us this season knows we aren’t exactly a brilliant footballing team. Bird has been poor. Prior to his late goals against Wycombe, Hourihane has been disappointing too.
We haven’t scored a goal away from home.
I don’t think it’s a case of Warneball being random hoofs, but perhaps we are more suited to going direct and having players like McGoldrick, Knight and Sibley picking up second balls in the final third.
Comparisons to Pearson seem strange. We had a far better footballing side back then. I don’t see that with us now.
Honestly, how many chances have we created this season by passing through the opposition via possession and moving them out of position. Barely any.

Just catching up and it amazes me how many people jump to conclusions on this.
For all we know Rosenior could have turned down the full time job or asked for excessive wages that hopefully we’ve now learnt to not pay.
Rosenior is doing an ok to poor job in my opinion. We’re ok at home but poor away. I wouldn’t be offering a long contract for him on decent wages to then potentially sack him in a month or two and pay out money we don’t have in compensation.

Better than expected to be honest.
We all know what state the squad was in back at the start of July without repeating it, the recruits were better than I initially expected yet I still couldn’t buy into the idea we would walk League 1.
I thought we would be around 17th, 18th now and hopefully starting to look like a team as we near Christmas, best case scenario pushing for a play off place.
Being Derby County, having 2 league titles in the cabinet with an FA cup and 30,000 seater stadium doesn’t count for anything in this league, all my expectations have been based on the situation and the time it takes to build a team. You can sign 22 players in a matter of weeks, ask Cooper, yet building a team on and off the pitch takes time.
To be sat 7th, level on points with 6th, 7pts off top is incredible really in my opinion and if this is the start of the journey, I think we may not be down here for as long as I first feared.
