We’d probably be in the Championship watching it though as opposed to enduring the clueless s**** the PE teacher keeps churning out in this crap division.

I'm no fan of pw football either but roseniors was equally as tedious, perhaps even more, but in a different way.

Given the thread is called "History repeating itself" why not try and bring Mac back for another go? I expect it would give the players as well as the fans a lift. I don't see that they can be enjoying this.

I wish......but I can't imagine him leaving man United, just to run the gauntlet of the plan b critics in 6 months time when we lose two games in a row (despite being top of the league)

    Tough crowd.

I've read a few threads on X from Rotherham fans and the parallells between them and us when W has been in charge are alarming.

    One such post reads:

    ************************************

#dcfcfans #dcfc how’s warne doing lads? 3 at back? Long ball? Miss out the central midfielders every game by banging it over there heads? Loads of injuries in training? Same subs every week? No plan B? Just wondering from a miller?

    ************************************

My best guess is that if things improve by end of October he will be given the elbow.

I would fully respect DC to go for someone who plays football the right way

I think that is extremely unlikely.

Warne wasn't brought in to produce champagne football,Clowes knew exactly what style of play PW would be bringing here.

The gaffer wanted a rebuild of the club from top to bottom. We were absolutely on our arses before the buy out,the academy was decimated, moor farm was physically deteriorating and staff morale was on the floor.

Clowes no doubt believed that warne was the man to remedy the majority of those issues and his ethos to club life appears to align with his.

So,I think,at least whilst the club is being gradually 'repaired' that he will stick with pw,even if that means mid to upper obscurity in this shitty league for this season at least.

I'm no big fan of pw football( or of the crap played under roseniors brief tenure) I'm a Mac 1&2 fan through and through with all the lovely gameplay and flair that it brings, but I do recognise what the owner is trying to achieve and all of this hand wringing and whining on the forums that we aren't being entertained isn't going to change clowes medium and long term plans.

So we need to get used to this reality i.m.o,get behind the manager and team and suck it up,this is going to be a long if slightly tedious job....but better than the alternative we faced a short time ago.

Im sure its just me but i really struggle to see peoples obsession with sibley

of his last 10/12 starts im trying to think of a time he was anything more than meh

still think his most productive role CURRENTLY at the club is impact sub.

thats not being detrimental to him, just where i see him atm. Theres others that give more from the off imo

I actually think that sibs could again become useful if linking up with Waggers....he has his most productive time at derby when playing off a striker like Waggers and the one who can't be mentioned.

I think the point is you came on yesterday giving it the biggun, having a shot at those who had previously had doubts about Waggy, and also ‘the Warne out supporters club’:

I would say given your history of posting about Waghorn in the past, you have no solid ground to have a go at others who might have doubted Waghorn’s re-signing. Equally, I have no idea why you think those who question Warne’s abilities would sulk after a very good away result. One win or loss doesn’t define Warne. One win does though raise the spirits that we could do well this season if we get organised well.

    Bring him home 😉

The only thing I liked about Wayne's tenure here was attracting and putting in place last season's team 😁

Please name the posters who think he hasn't been playing well in his second spell. I'll be kind and ask for 3.

    Err,no.

Do your own research sage if you are that interested in the subject,I'm a busy man!

If you pay a decent wage however,I could be persuaded.

Ironic as well that Kash gave Waghorn pelters all the time he was here on his first spell too.

    I absolutely did.....

    Isn't that the point though?

I've recognised, unlike some, that since his return to us,he has been playing well  and I've had to accept that I may have been wrong about him!

Maybe the current coaching team are getting the best out of his abilities, his first touch seems to be far better than it used to be.

Waghorn was the poster boy of the Mel Morris overspending era - we stole him from Steve Gibson by offering wages we couldn’t afford. He only has an emotional connection to this club due to Mel and Pearce. Nothing to do with Warne

Ah right,I was labouring under the mistaken belief that the manager might have some say, over his defender,on deciding if a player joins the club and then actually plays him.

    Apologies.

Warne got lucky that we had an ex-player turn up for a testimonial and happen to have some fitness. Doubt he would have signed him from the ‘open market’

Yeah, that's the way it works isn't it,when we lose it warnes fault, when we win it's down to fozzys decision making at a testimonial match 🤣

Not sensitive at all, just replying to a post from a physiologist that yet again dredging up the past looking for Chris Martin the QPR player nibbles. I'm sure you'd find a way to bring him into the Shamima Begum topic at some point.

Can I also say it's unfair on McGoldrick to even bring him into this. Didzy is on another level completely.

We're also not past page 1 yet so to say a load of people share the same view as you is a tad premature.

Anyhow, may I bring up a slight issue with this topic, the title and opening post leave differing answers.

Favourite players to watch: Wildsmith, Cashin, Forsyth, Bird, Knight, Dobbin, NML and McGoldrick.

Players I look forward to watching: None.

Let me get back on the couch for my next therapy session ?

Whatever David,I'll leave it with you but it appears you have the problem here rather than me mate.

    Anyway I'm out.

    All the best.

    How's that?

Do I like McGoldrick, absolutely I do, I love what he's doing at 35 years of age, he's intelligent, doesn't just have the ability to hold the ball up, but turn and create space for himself.

Not only that, he doesn't stand there waiting for the ball to arrive and fall on his arse every 2 minutes, like a certain Chris Martin which you are alluding to.

McGoldrick is a key player to our promotion hopes along with Wildsmith, Cashin, Forsyth, Bird and Knight

Saying that, do I wake up on a Saturday morning and say to myself I'm looking forward to seeing him play individually? No I can't say I do.

Do I look forward to watching him within the team with the other players I mentioned? Yes.

We live in a world where we are spoiled by what we can watch, Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, all the top clubs in the country, clubs that have players worth the entrance fee alone, genuine bums off seats exciting players.

Don't twist this into a David is somehow hard to please, I'm absolutely not, I just won't fanboy over a single player at this level to the point where I'm going just to see him.

I'm a bit old for the posters on the wall kind of stuff.

A bit oversensitive there David,I was merely acknowledging your viewpoint and it made me better understand your way of thinking on these matters...

A lot of us enjoy watching an individual player with a set of skills you don't always see at this or championship level and mcgoldrick (and previously, for me,Martin) is one of them and I look forwards to seeing him repeating those skills.

Thats not to take anything away from watching the team perform as one.....both are a pleasure to witness and look forwards to.

You don't feel that way about players and that's fair enough,we all view the game differently (thankfully,it there would be no point to a forum!)and enjoy different aspects of it.

As it says on the tin! Not necessarily the best, but the players who you look forward to seeing. McGoldrick and an ‘on his day’ Mendez-Laing of the current side.

Have to agree with that,I love watching the team as a whole bit you just know when McG or Mendez get the ball in the box,you will get to see some special football occur.

Mcgoldricks insight and awareness of those around him, which allows him to create a pass or shot that mere mortals wouldn't have seen coming is one of the reasons I love football.

Incidentally,David's reply helps me understand his viewpoint on a few topics, especially those regarding our current and previous strikers.
