    HMRC are responsible for:
Income Tax, Corporation Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Inheritance Tax, Insurance Premium Tax, Stamp, Land and Petroleum Revenue Taxes
    Environmental taxes
climate change and aggregates levy and landfill tax
Value Added Tax (VAT), including import VAT
    Customs duty
    Excise duties
    National Insurance
    Tax Credits
    Child Benefit
Please don’t put this on Twitter, but my understanding is that we still owe duty on the importation of Albentosa, Camara and Jozwiak, and are massively in arrears on child benefit payments for Knight, Sibley, Buchanan and Bird. The biggest debt to HMRC though falls under the Climate Change Levy where Mel Morris has incurred the club significant fees for the over production of worthless hot air.

I think the barometer is going to be Rooney. If things are that bad he won't stay - we'll have to sell any player we can and will finish 24th, even if we don't get a points deduction. Rooney just doesn't need that.
If Rooney stays, it means that he is convinced that he will have enough resources to at least aim for mid-table. He'd need to very firm assurances from Mel or knowledge of a credible take over on the horizon to stay. At this point Wayne is king rat...if he abandons we're sinking.

Genuinely what do you want? He's selling the club. He knows he didn't do a great job.

We were living beyond our means pre-pandemic as nearly all football clubs do. No one plans for a global pandemic, what’s our revenue been in the last 12 months given we don’t have parachute payments? All our main revenue streams with exception of TV have disappeared. Where else is the cash going to come from except loans or Mel’s pocket?! I don’t know what people expect. Rolls-Royce lost £2bn last year, generated liquidity by a share issue and taking out loans and is taking other cost cutting measures.  It’s been mentioned that at least 10 other championship clubs are struggling, it’s just we’re the only ones under scrutiny due to FFP, trying to sell the club and the fact Wayne Rooney is also at the club - we are news.
Reality is probably not as bad as the Daily Mail reporter is making out (he is the guy Newcastle banned from press conferences by the way due to his brand of negative sensationalism and the fact he goes about it like a complete Bamford). I don’t get the £20m HMRC bit for a start, seems from Mel’s comments that due to extensions that many clubs have been granted.
Nevertheless it isn’t good, key is whether Mel can or is willing to underwrite at least some of the debt.  I agree buyers are not going to want to take that on.

I think he needs to start levelling with us about the future.

His lads signed for the academy today so you’d imagine he knows he’s sticking around for another year or so.

Does anyone know if Maguire tweets about other clubs and grasses other clubs up to the EFL or is it just us?
Just wondering if he has ever raised concerns with owners owning 2 clubs internationally and using this to transfer players to get around, and make a mockery of P&S.
Also has he asked the EFL to check when a chairman who owns 2 clubs transfers a player, say from Greek clubs, how are the values calculated, are they realistic values based on current market value, or over/under inflated to help with P&S.
What about owners transferring debt from the club to their own private business. Glass houses Mr Gibbo.
Maguire seems so up on financial issues with Derby you would hope he is on the pulse with all other 23 championship clubs.

That was never a takeover though, just a lending of money. People are getting things all mixed up as it's been going on so long ?

To be fair, it's well known that we're in a financial hole and also that Mel has had health issues and wants to get out asap. That will attract every chancer going - some more believable than others. Perhaps sitting back and waiting for concrete news that the takeover has been concluded might make more sense than taking part in the stream of hand-wringing, bed wetting and general attacks on Mel and each other that this board has been flooded by lately.....

Gabay was a money lender not a potential new owner, despite initial reports, it's the 2 takeovers that have been agreed/announced (BZI & Alonso).

Okay, so if the EFL is saying this:
"Championship clubs in particular face impossible economic pressures, seeking to gain promotion to the Premier League, which has in turn led to untenable financial speculation and irrational behaviour."
Why is it then that they are seeking to add further distress by hounding those clubs?
It is good to see them acknowledging that the current system is broken, but do something about it rather than punishing those who fall foul of it.

I Heard that Mark Davis (co-owner of the Las Vegas Raiders) is looking to invest in an English football club and there is a possible link to Rooney as Davis is good mates with David Beckham. No definite signals and i am putting 2and2 and trying to make 4.

I'm dreaming that Tom Glick has got in the ear of his boss, David Tepper, with the suggestion: 'Derby for sale, you know... you might want to look into that'.
It's an absolute pipedream, but that would be ELECTRIC!

A bit harsh mate, you can’t group him with the two individuals Mel has been negotiating with recently. I’d definitely have him back as part of a consortium. It’s a matter of opinions though.

    Spot on.
So much has happened over the past couple of years that I completely forgot about this point. I had assumed, like charge 1, that the EFL were arguing we would have failed P&S without it.
Baswd on the Decision Document from the original hearing, charge 1 specifically claims the stadium sale meant we avoided failing P&S.
However, charge 2 only claims that by having non-compliant accounts, we have breached P&S rules.

The LAP have concluded that the accounts are non-compliant so a punishment is required for breaching rules.
The logical punishment to me is a fine and resubmission of the P&S figures using a striaght-line method. The reason a points deduction isn't warranted is because no on field benefit was achieved.

Sooner or later there will be a proportion of fans who turn against the owner.....usually when the money starts to run out. When Mel Morris took over the club with his fan background and £500m in the bank I defy anyone to say they weren't happy and optimistic. As recently as Lampards tenure and then the appointment of Coccu the majority still felt positive about the Club......Now the inevitable happens, the pitch forks are out and 50% of the fans apparently saw it coming, would have done almost everything differently and had us in rude financial health.

I’m wondering, if as apparently stated by the club, we don’t fail P&S even with straight line amortisation, whether those restated accounts might actually form part of our sanction mitigation.
Rather than wait to see if part of their sanction is to make us restate them, preempt it and get them done anyway to show we didn’t gain any advantage in this time period doing what we did as we’d have been under the limit. It would prove our case that we genuinely thought it was a better way of accounting, rather than trying to gain any kind of unfair advantage, which is clearly why everyone assumes we did it.

I’m not quite sure why there is so much furore about this particular snippet today on social media, all of this has been known since the IDC decision.
It made comment to the club referencing Transfermarkt and it wasn’t the only way they calculated values, it’s not new news.
