Carnero reacted to ollycutts1982 in Wayne Rooney
Ultimately when Rooney leaves, hopefully this time next week he will be gone, he can look back at why he failed. For me not bringing in an experienced number 2 (as the season went on he could of swallowed some pride and asked Mac), his tactics and substitutions were ill thought, failure to strengthen the squad in January (genuinely how many would we want permanently) and finally his failure to get the players fighting for him and the shirt.
Stay up he must go - if we stay up it will purely be due to others failing to take advantage
Go down he must go - 6 defeats on the bounce in our position is unforgivable

Carnero reacted to Carl Sagan in Morgan Whittaker
For those not clicking the link, the headline is about Morgan Whittaker receiving online racial abuse following the game on Saturday. What is wrong with people? In the unlikely event the lad reads this forum, I hope he knows there are thousands of Rams fans wishing him well having come through the ranks at Derby, and only a handful of morons who are sad keyboard warriors and think it's somehow OK to send racial hate off into the ether.

Carnero reacted to Highgate in Wayne Rooney
That's a bit harsh considering Cocu and Derby managed 64 points and 10th place last season.
Cocu's miserable run at the start of the season was still marginally better than Rooney's end of season form. I can't see any justification for believing Rooney will ever be a good manager, anywhere. There is simply nothing to back that up. I also can't understand why anyone would think we should give him another season at Derby to pursue his flailing managerial apprenticeship.

Been a fun ride though hasn't it..
The newcastle stuff,the pe teacher,the wassall bit,the pearson/powell/mclaren bit,the snake,the lampard bounce,the barcelona midfielder as manager,and ROOOOONEY
Plus we loaned a real madrid player,a couple of liverpool/man I/chelsea players

Carnero reacted to BramcoteRam84 in Wayne Rooney
Know all that but he still wouldn’t have turned the job down, if he really had a problem with Mel he wouldn’t have got back involved, And I’m sure he would’ve stepped in until the end of the season to save us had Mel sacked Rooney.
Anyway the point is there are many better options than Rooney, one of whom is still within the club, which makes it even more ridiculous we’re continuing with Rooney who is clearly way out of his depth.

Carnero reacted to ram1964 in Melvyn Morris fan club
I have no gripe with Mel, obviously things haven't gone to plan and this last 2 seasons it has fallen apart. Who is to say any other owner would have faired any better in his tenure. We've certainly had a few good seasons with him at the helm and a lot of upheaval ,skulduggery , managers along the way.
I have no reason to believe Mel had didn't havethe best intrest of the club and for the most of his tenure poured significant personnel funds to pursue success .We can all criticse ,bad signings bad managers in hindsight but most on hear were raving Rooneys arrival as a player ,Rooney as Manager. And I Can't remember many moaning about any of the numerous players being bought during the last 5 years. Were a fickle lot but Mel is a ram ,he did his best didn't work out but I take my hat off to him for having a go.

What do we protest against ?
I don't disagree Mel has made a right horlicks of things in his time at Derby but what do we protest about ? his lack of spending ? no because if anything that's one of the issues, it's not mels fault the EFL p&s rules aren't fit for purpose and hes just not allowed to spend what maybe I the past other owners have to achieve success.
I guess we could protest his ownership and demand he moves on,but isn't he trying to do that? it's not his fault no one can seemingly afford to cough up the going rate, the last thing we need is him selling to someone for 50p like lionel did because no one else would buy us.
So I share your frustration, Mel has made a lot of mistakes and has to accept responsibility for where we are, I'm just not sure what we would protest against because as far as I can see he is making every effort to move on but no one seems able or willing to take over.

Carnero reacted to chewbacca in Melvyn Morris fan club
It's not worked out, in most cases I have agreed with his appointments and transfers but they have not come to fruition. I think the biggest mistakes lie in recent years appointing Cocu and signing Rooney with what appears to have been a prerequisite to be manager sooner or later, this for me is what has destroyed the club, we were at a cross road when Lampard left and all we have done is take wrong turns since.

Carnero reacted to angieram in Melvyn Morris fan club
Okay, posts that are critical of Mel Morris' tenure as owner are not taken down.
Posts which contain personal insults of Mel Morris are.
The same applies to other previous or future owners, players, other posters.
How difficult is it to grasp the difference? Quite difficult for some people judging by the number of posts we have taken down in the last twenty four hours.
If in any doubt please re-read the terms and conditions that you agreed to when you joined the message board. If you don't agree with them, you are welcome to find somewhere else to post your personal insults. I hear Twitter aren't too fussy!

Carnero reacted to Andicis in Relegation watch
I do always enjoy when posters who only post negativity then claim victory when something negative happens, as if they knew it was going to happen rather than just a case of throwing enough poo that eventually some of it sticks. Even @Millenniumram is right occasionally by virtue of this ?.

Carnero reacted to G STAR RAM in Jozwiak
I think brilliant is a bit of an overstatement but was his best display for quite some time.

Carnero reacted to vonwright in Jozwiak
Thought he was brilliant today. Took up great positions, made theatening runs, took people on, fast direct passing. Did a real shift in defence, too, and saved us a goal. And while others jogged about and scowled at each other and looked like they thought they were too good to have to try, and hard-done-by by the universe, he played like a pro.
You can say 'yeah he does all that but no end product'. But come on: if the likes of Lawrence and Waghorn (and even CKR) did their main jobs as well as he did his, we'd have won today. You can't blame him for not doing _everything_ when some others don't seem to be doing _anything_

Carnero reacted to maydrakin in NFL 2021 Season
Looks promising that Falcons should be able to come away with a “first round quality” defensive player tonight.
Any of Owusu-Koramoah, Moehrig, Ossai, Ojulari or Barmore and we’re good.
So it’s going to be a RB...

Yeah that's true I guess.
Guess the Giants just got lucky that Fields dropped to 11 and Pace/Nagy are happy to give up next year's 1st if drafting a young QB helps keep them in a job for a few more years!

Carnero got a reaction from therealhantsram in EFL appeal
The appeal was against the lack of punishment for not making our policy clear enough, not the actual policy which is perfectly legal and is in accordance with the financial reporting standards (FRS12)... which is why the EFL lost the original case.

Carnero reacted to Comrade 86 in EFL appeal
Not the case bud. The deadline for any points deduction this season has long since elapsed, so were a points deduction even a possible outcome, it'd have to be next season and not this one.
Furthermore, the crux of the EFL case seems to be that we failed inform them of our amortisation processes, not that there was an issue with them (our methodology has already been confirmed to be both fair and legal) and in so much, a points deduction wouldn't really be an option for either season anyway.
I really think this has been done to absolute death over recent weeks, so maybe we should just move on now? We've currently got bigger fish to fry.
