    If Rooney walks.
Even though I don't want him at the club, the fact he is still here indicates things are progressing on the takeover front & that the news on the penalty (the severity of which I'm certain the club will be aware of) isn't as bad as first feared.
Rooney is an unashamed careerist & there's no way he would stay if a) there were no funds to bring in players/was going to lose players and/or b) a substantial penalty incoming. Too much potential damage to his brand and ambition & he's already got a ready made narrative of 'keeping us up'. His media pals will do their duty talking up his stint & protesting we're an impossible job.

I've read some right nonsense about this lad on here and on Twatter and the like. IMO, he's a talented young lad and we're lucky to have him. Hopefully he can really kick on this season as it must have been a proper baptism of fire last year.
It's often the case that young players coming from abroad take a season to settle in and I think with Bielik's injury, being stuck away from home under lockdown, playing in a side so short of confidence, not to mention reading some of the garbage spewed about him in the dark recesses of social media, it really can't have been easy. If we actually play with a bit of tempo this season, I can see him doing really well. His work ethic is superb and that earns him some credit with me irrespective.

How many more times does he have to prove he can do it for Poland before people start to believe that maybe, just maybe, it's Rooney's tactics that affect him at Derby?

No one remembers the fact that the entire group stage of Italia 90 was absolute dog excrement, all they remember is that we should have won It.
We were shocking against the Swiss in 96 and the sweaties, got out played by Spain but It is still seen as the best tournament ever…
no one will care that we got a 0-0 draw against the skirt wearers when we go on to win the tournament.

That's really the essence of the EFL's problem. Virtually everyone else uses the straight line method but, as you say, other methods can still comply with FRS102. The EFL could have, and should have, specified a method in the FFP rules so as to provide conformity when dealing with what are clearly large numbers. We didn't do it wrongly (per our auditors), just differently, but that was enough for Gibson to perceive it as cheating and pressure the EFL to take action against us.

    It's about 400 pages.
Intangible assets (values of rights etc) is about 7 pages.
And like all such documents, amortisation is tackled obliquely in bits by going on about the measurement of value on acquisition, and subsequently. What the term of amortisation should be etc etc
What I think you would like to point to is section 18.22, which is basically writing down what amortisation is, states that you should amortize using a systematic method based on consumption of economic benefits and only at the end states that "if the pattern cannot be determined reliably then the straight line method will be used".
Lots of undefined terms. Systematic method. Reliably. Economic benefits.
So no, I see no codification of amortisation rules in any of that. Lots of principles, scope for opinion and judgement and therefore differences in interpretation to emerge.

4 different managers can't all be wrong.
If he turns it around at Hull under his ex-Peterborough boss then so be it, but it doesn't mean it was ever going to turn around for him here. No doubt if he does come good at Hull there'll be plenty on here and other social media platforms eager to point fingers of blame at the club and none at Marriott, as is always the way with know-it-all football fans.

I am just done with this, do your worst EFL and move on to your next victims.
Sick of this rolling on and on, either step up and deliver a punishment. We can then appeal and we move on.
These clouds of uncertainty are weighing heavy and I for one am sick and tired of being the whipping boys for a select few.

The club have bent the rules but not broken them unlike many others of the decades.
Let the EFL punish us to save face, they’re a vindictive and spiteful bunch and can never be found and proven to be inadequate. They keep on pushing until they receive some sort of victory no matter how big or small.

Hit us with your best shot and then duck OFF to your next targets ????

Players left/leaving due to being out of contract:
Carson - 0 minutes played last season Mitchell - 0 minutes played last season Idem - 0 minutes played last season Malone - 0 minutes played last season Jozefzoon - 0 minutes played last season
    Players possibly staying, possibly leaving:
Ravas - 0 minutes played last season Wisdom - 3116 minutes played last season (75%) Davies - 973 minutes played last season (24%) Waghorn - 1889 minutes played last season (46%) Marriott - 201 minutes played last season (5%)
    Loan players:
Clarke - 3687 minutes played last season (89%) Mengi - 668 minutes played last season (16%) Edmundson - 749 minutes played last season (18%) Baningime - 93 minutes played last season (2%) Roberts - 673 minutes played last season (16%) Gregory - 565 minutes played last season (14%)

So far we have only lost 6 players from last season's squad, only one of them played any significant amount of football, and another is supposedly returning next season. It's also very likely that at least 4 of the 5 we're in negotiations with stay with us.
We will also make signings over the next couple of months. Stop panicking.

Inconsistent for sure, but there's literally nobody else at the club right now who can do what he can when it clicks. The same folk will endlessly moan about him but bar Bielik, it could be argued that no other player was more instrumental in rescuing us from relegation last season than Tom with his end of season form in a team that couldn't beat an egg.

I'm fairly certain the rules don't say it should be a points deduction in the 20/21 season.
In fact, the punishment is down to whatever the DC deem fit. They always side with precedent. In this instance, they'll be looking at the SWFC case, where the time of the season at which a decision was made determined which season the punishment would be handed out.
There can be no argument that the punishment should be in the same season as SWFC, as BCFC were also found guilty for the same 3 year period, but had their punishment in 19/20.
From the SWFC decision doc: “…our conclusion was that the combination of (i) the fact that had the 12-point deduction been imposed when, according to the general approach, it should have been (during the 2018-2019 season), the Club would not have faced relegation, (ii) the actual or perceived inconsistency of the EFL’s approach in the Derby County case and (iii) the potential effects of the delays caused by the bringing of the eventually dismissed Charge 2, makes it inappropriate to impose the deduction in the current extended season, but to postpone its effect until next season when the onus will be on the Club to redeem its position on the playing field.”
That last bit is the key part of that. The DC will not impose a P&S penalty in a season if there is no time to redeem that position. In the very unlikely scenario that they do, it will be appealed anyway.

Stop ?ing yourselves an accept we'll be in the Championship next season.

Eh?   There were ad breaks every 20 mins or so.
The really sad thing is some people have nothing else better to do than watch something they don't want to watch simply to write down a list of who is advertising on GB News so they can rant about them on Twatter ?
Furthermore, why is it that only one side of the argument wants to shut down or prevent any conversation from happening?  Andrew Neil et al are obviously not far right nut jobs and at the very least deserve to be debated and shown to be wrong *if* that is the case.
Personally speaking, from the bits I've seen of GB News it is obvious that they are lacking a few people with real top level TV experience - the good ones stand out and the lesser lights are a bit cringey.  Hopefully this, along with sub-par production values will improve as the station finds its feet.
It is good to be able to hear people talk about subjects that have been neglected by the BBC or Sky etc for far to long and if that allows conversations to be had and eventually maybe a consensus reached then surely thats a good thing?  The alternative is a section of society, that largely consists of traditional labour voters being afraid to speak up and neglected.
Rather than the the 'hard right' as is being thrown around on Twitter, GB News could attract a large working class audience.  Although I guess to the new Labour voter, they are right wing now-a-days ?
