I'm going to back Collins to have a good season for us.
I just have this feeling he will break the 20 goals for the season tally. Call it blind faith, stupidity. 
I actually think Collins, hourihanne and Barkhuizen will be much better than last season.

Bit of a ballache to find the details but basically says he's had offers in the Championship but believes he will get more a first team chance here so is training with us currently.

Bolton are apparently trying to sign Josh Maja as he wants to come back to England, if that’s true and he’s willing to play in league one we should be all over that.
 
16 goals in 37 games last year in French second division. Scored a few goals for Fulham in the prem in 2021 on loan. Also scored 15 Goals in 24 games in league one when he was just 20 years old in the 18/19 season.
 
He’s also a free transfer as he refused a contract extension with Bordeaux.

Didzy at the mature age of 34/35 had his FIRST 20+ goal season last year, even in league 1 I'm sure you'd of got some bookie bashing odds placing that bet.
I keep seeing people mention the goals need replacing and we must sign a 20+ goal striker.
James Collins at the slightly less mature age of 32 already has 3 20+ goal seasons to his name, does he have another one in him? Maybe with a good pre season and a bit of confidence behind him he could find that form again, scoring 12 last season still wasn't a terrible return.
Would you be worried if we started the season with him as our main striker or is he potentially our 20 goal man?

Didn't realise they 'wanted' £5m for him. I don't think we need to be paying those sorts of sums to ensure we get some goals scored. Would rather risk £300k on Bonis and stick with Collins (*eek*) tbh.

Think you'll be right on the champ club Tuesday unfortunately. Sure the £5m tag will be reduced with him having only a year left but still think he'll be out our budget.

It could just as easily be a dustbin, hit it in off it, as much as it needs to be Collins! Might even get more from the dustbin. 😄

I am not a huge Collins fan so far but most of our crossing into the box (where he is and should be) was beyond woeful last season so not fair to write him off and not criticize that. Didzy is a totally different sort of player who relied less on that due to his creativity. I also think last season we sometimes didnt always play the simplest or best ball as everyone was so keen to find Didzy, understandably and he/we reaped the rewards. Who knows we may be more balanced as a team even if less fun to watch. we will miss the joy to watch that was Didzy. We need better balls into the box full stop

The one thing we lacked last season was squad depth.
If we want squad depth we need to accept the the lads coming in to act as a back up are not going to be massive, statement signings. Sometimes you need some decent pro's in the squad to fill a gap and cover where needed. Capable of doing the job but not so expensive that they eat up huge chunks of the budget.
I really do not see a probelm with this transfer. Anyone getting upset about it at this point needs to give their head a wobble. If we start the season with Collins and Washington as our only strikers then fine, I'll be a bit miffed. But Warne has already stated that we have multiple targets, so lets just chill out and trust that the club know what they are doing.

I'm not keen on loaning out either Rooney or Thompson as I think both are good enough to be in the starting XI or on the bench.

EDIT - with a bit more digging it seems he made an inappropriate comment in response to a fan’s comment on Instagram. The fan said something about Bielik having fun and Bielik responded by saying he’d had fun with the fan’s mother 🤦🏻‍♂️ 

Asked a Blackpool season ticket holder I know about him.

Completely different player and situation but look at how Akpom was written off then the season he had last year, if every player had a team of the season year they wouldn't be signing for a league 1 team, I'll judge him in a rams shirt, welcome to Derby 🐏
