Forgive me as if this has been mentioned before but how about a 'DCFC Supporters March' starting from the Market Place to Pride Park. Should be light traffic on a Sunday morning and would only take 30 minutes or so, enough time for a beer before and at the ground prior to kick off. Would one of the Supporters Groups be able to manage it? It would certainly show the national media and its on Sky too. All power to our cause!

That march is quite probably the most signigicant event in the entire history of Derby County since participating in it appears to have convinced David Clowes that if he didn't intervene then we almost certainly would be no more. That thought is frightening!

I've often wondered who the actual instigators of the march were because we, as Rams fans, owe them a huge debt of gratitude.

I hope my early suggestion may have somehow helped start something off but i will be eternally grateful for the organisers on that day. What a day, what a march, it really was a defining moment to say to the football world - 'We are not letting this fantastic club of ours die'. UTR!

  2. Sad day for all who follow the Rams. Curtis has put so much of himself in the club, I really hope he stays in some capacity. Stears and Chester thank you both. Great professionals who hopefully will get another gig. Something was lost today. Be it part camaraderie or what. Thanks guys for what you have done for this great club of ours. I will raise a glass or two for you tonight. UTR!

  3. Well that's another season over. It's been extremely eventful, some good times, some bad times but football will continue no matter what. I know there has been contentious issues throughout the year. Poor officials, bad decisions, missed goalmouth opportunities but it's balanced out by the sheer euphoria of seeing my beloved team playing in a stadium fit for the Premiership. Gutted we didn't get in the playoffs but, in my heart of hearts, I think we would have struggled big time in the Championship with what the EFL have still imposed on us. We have the stability at the helm for once, we have a financial structure which we still need to adhere to (for the time being) and we have a manager who WILL get us out of this league sometime soon. August can't come quick enough for me. Will get me season ticket asap, will look forward to the fixtures coming out, and will turn up to bellow my support at PP and elsewhere. I will be a year older then, creeping towards my 70th birthday, but it's what I do. Football and anything to do with Derby County, is special to me and countless other thousands of DCFC fans. Very proud to be a Rams fan. Always was, always will be.UTR!

  4. Massive game. Start on the front foot straightaway as the crowd will be up for it. Really looking forward to what is THE defining match of a very enjoyable (mostly) season. Win and we are in the box seats, draw, we still have a chance. I am not contemplating anything else. Have a distinct feeling that this is the PENULTIMATE home game . In the South stand with my sprog instead of SW. Will be bouncing? You bet I will. From a very optomistic pensioner.Come on you rams!

  5. Yesterday's result was one which I did expect even through rose tinted glasses. I thought we may get a draw out of it before the match started but going in at half time still not having scored I thought there was an inevitability about the outcome. Despondent yes. Think we have blown our chances of the playoffs - possibly. However, we have 8 (and a very outside chance of 11 games) to go. But we have a team to support, a chairman who really does care about this great football club of ours, a fan base that most teams are envious of, and a manager who will eventually succeed given the time. We have been spoilt by that unbeaten run and, now we are struggling to maintain a top six finish. But we have somewhere to go to on a Saturday afternoon, somewhere to congregate and share our passion for DCFC. Quite a few people on here have really forgotten what deep despair we were in and whether we would have a club? If we get into the playoffs - fantastic achievement. If not then we go again next season. I will renew my season ticket when they come out. I will bellow my support. Life's too short for goodness sake. Let's get behind the lads again this Saturday and beyond. DCFC is still here (do you hear Gibson; Wycombe chairman, Florist fans etc.)  and we WILL be back where we belong soon. UTR!

  6. We need to treat Lincoln with respect due to their recent record and wins against strong teams. The first goal is going to be vital as this will set the way the game may go. Hopefully, we start on the front foot(which hasn't always been the case in some home matches) and score first. If they do it is going to be tough. Nevertheless I believe we have enough firepower to win this one. Be interesting to see if White starts. He looks a tidy player to me. If he does he will either score or have an assist. UTR!

  7. Exactly one year ago I and 1000s of fellow Rams fans were marching towards what we thought was possibly Derby's last game EVER. I don't think the magnitude of that word 'ever' really sunk in to most of us. But what a game we saw and the finale of Bielik's goal I will never forget. Mr Clowes I will be ever grateful for you saving this fantastic club of ours. Tonight we are on tv, we can do this. Chelsea at the baseball ground in 1968? Could that atmosphere be replicated? I bloody hope so. UTR!

  8. Out of all the London teams i have had a bit of a soft spot for West Ham. In the 70s and 80s played some lovely attacking football which is how it should be played. Passionate, loyal fans who travel very well. I hope they enjoy their trip here, put some money into the local economy and leave feeling they have played at a ground whose support mirrors their own. The only downside of their trip is that we will be in the 5th round and they won't!  Sorry chaps but we have a free hit tomorrow and we are gonna take it! UTR!

It was my 14th birthday and the best present I had was the Rams beating Scunthorpe 4-0, On Boxing day we won 4-1 at Scunthorpe, it was a really happy Christmas for me and all Rams fans. Tomorrow wont be as happy as I am 80 so not a lot to be happy about. Just looking forward to a Wembley trip next year in the play offs. Merry Christmas RAMS fans everywhere .

Enjoy tomorrow Geriatram with a couple of sherberts. Was only a few months old when you were 14 but am priviledged to have seen some of the best (and worst) of this great club of ours. Will raise a toast to you tomorrow. Best wishes. UTR!

  10. Think Saturday's game will be the most difficult for us so far this season. They are on a long run of picking up points with no defeats. On Wednesday at Hillsborough by all accounts they played very well. They have given Plymouth a game as well. With over 3k of their fans (fair play to them)it will make for a great atmosphere. The first 20 minutes will be a marker as to how the match will pan out. They score first then it is going to be uphill for us. We score first hopefully we will go on to pick up 3 points. Heart says 2 1 to us. Head says 1 all. No matter how it goes let's get PP rocking (disappointing on Wednesday) and send the 'Gas' back to Bristol with 'good memories of the day' and no points. UTR!

  11. As to last night's game I am a bit baffled why Hourihane is on from the start. Yes his shot in the second half brought a brilliant save and he also pinged a great crossfield  ball in the second half but other than that I didn't see much that he contributed to the team. I don't think Bird is a captain. He seems to have a weight on his shoulders and is not enjoying his football. Fozzie and Cashin were good but overall it is a work in progress. The 'togetherness ' of the players also seems to be ebbing away as well. Normally all the players clap the fans at full time but only a few stayed on to do this. Yes they were disappointed but so were we the fans. Come on lads show us a bit more on Saturday. We will turn up but please can you! UTR.

Ps. Officials were absolutely laughable last night!

  12. Really suprising turnout fbh for a night game. Yes your fans were good and supported your team very well. Fair play that most of them will not see their beds until 2 or 3pm. You have a few talented players who kept us at bay. The referee and linesmen were Sunday league standard at best. It is such a shame these officials get a game every week. Thought our attendance was pretty good considering it was half term etc. but atmosphere was way down on what it normally is. Thanks for your kind words about your experience. We are proud of PP and how our fans still turn up. Good luck for the rest of the season (except when we come down there). UTR!

  13. Should have been a 0 0 but for a bit of misjudgement by Davies. Still we move on. Not many sides are going to get points at Ipswich. I am looking forward to how we approach our next two home games. We have injuries to key players so Warne will have to earn his crust by picking a team which, for me, needs to be improved especially in midfield. I am hopeful of at least 4 points from these two games which should keep us in the mix. Anything less the doom merchants will be out in force. The season is a long long slog. We have a team to support thank God. I am just happy to go to the ground on a cold, wet (hopefully not) Tuesday night, bellow my lungs out and support the team. UTR!
