I’d been to my mums funeral in the morning and came back to watch the game.
She was a rams fan as well and would have been going loopy watching us demolish the gumps.

I was in the home end and the guys around me (unbeknown I was a Ram) were very complimentary of Derby and said the first half was the best Rovers had played all season
We were also a bunch of diving cheats and Bradley a wind up merchant - exactly what I like to hear. We’re fighting….

I’ve watched far too many games this season where haven’t been good enough and this is yet another.

I think it's reasonable to ask why players who have shown they are capable of playing at this level (or even higher), don't look capable of it here and now.  Obviously for someone like Bradley it's probably just his legs have gone (and they've probably gone more than we were expecting them to, if you know what I mean).  But for the others you have to wonder about how they are being used, and whether they were signed for the right reasons.  Joe Ward is probably a decent League One winger (as he showed at Peterborough), but he looks a dodgy-as-hell League One fullback.  Callum Elder is probably a reasonable Championship fullback, but he's not a flying wingback who you can just plug into your "get it wide quickly and cross it" philosophy.
And its the same with people like Max Bird.  He's looked more than comfortable here in a possession-heavy Championship team, but much less effective in a "get it forward quickly" League One team.  You can't just go around putting ability-labels on players without considering how they are being used.  Get players doing what they're good at, they'll look better than they are.  Get them doing stuff they're bad at, they'll look worse than they are.

This game had an ere of Cheltenham away about it.
I liked the look of Dolan in their midfield signed from non-league.  Hungry and eager to get the ball forwards with bags of energy.  Exactly the type of players we need to progress.
Interesting Both NML and Collins said they expected to not be able to play the ball around at Fleetwood but that probably sums up the ability of our squad.  An Ipswich or Plymouth of last season would have controlled the game whereas we don't and cause ourselves problems as a result.
Very happy we ground out the 3 points and our quality shined through in the end.  I just wish we played a little more football and controlled the situations more when needed.

Completely agree and a big shout out to Sonny too, his passing through the lines set us on the front foot and was a fresh change from hoof ball!

I was at the game stood in the Cheltenham terraces (i live locally, that's my excuse!)

First half was nothing short of woeful.  Cheltenham fans around saying how poor we were.
Couldn't put two passes together and far too relaxed.  I was almost on the pitch i was that close and there was zero noise being made by the players to each other compared to the Cheltenham players, apart from to moan at each other.
Second half much better but still highlighting the obvious lack of a proper goal scorer.  Bird made a difference!
Still, its one game we certainly cant sing "Cheltenham's a s*** hole, i want to go home" at!
Loved their banter at scoring a goal - I sang along to that one!

The football is so poor for the level of players we have

Remember when we played poor football and the wrong formation for the players under Pearson.
He got sacked, Chris Powell came in and we won away at Cardiff playing nice football again

This is such a surreal game for me.

Forest Green is a tiny hamlet on top of pretty Cotswold town called Nailsworth, the town i grew up next to for 21 years.  I remember going to watch FGR with about 250 fans regularly in their old ground round the corner and playing there a couple of times for my school team.

Now, I'm going to watch FGR v Derby in a league game.  I never thought that would happen.

As a result, myself and all my mates (who all live in Forest Green/Nailsworth) have sorted a box for the day.  They are all closet FGR go see them once every year fans while I'm going to be supporting the mighty Rams.

Jesus christ i hope we don't lose!!!
