To be honest I completely understand why people are nervous. This forum has a sort of been cheated on kinda vibe atm ? - struggling to trust again after all the failed takeovers. Plus of course there’s a lot of emotion, we all just want this deal done so we can finally move on and focus on that thing called ‘football’ again.

Q have been poor throughout with their deadlines. Whether it’s just over optimism on their part, kicking the can down the road or just an extremely poor comms strategy, we will all be delighted when we see the back of them.

I will too start to be a bit like what’s going on if it’s not completed by the end of tomorrow. I’m still expecting an announcement to be made later today. I wouldn’t expect it to come until CK is up and about - I do think the fact he didn’t send a single tweet yesterday related or unrelated means to me that they preparing the official announcement. I could be wrong but that’s what I reckon.

With us being under restrictions (EFL business plan etc),  that's the sort of imaginative thinking we need. A former Man United legend helping to guide the son of a former Derby player. One of the few bright spots to emerge from the last two seasons is that young players may get thrown in the deep end, but they also get  plenty of support from the manager/coaching staff.

Random one, but wouldn't be surprised to see us get Charlie Savage for the season.

Definitely putting owner ahead of any player, though we've had so many but Mel Morris wins hands down for me. He mortgaged our future when he had the opportunity as a benefactor to give this club real stability or direction. Instead, we are left scrabbling for pennies down the sofa.

Adam Bolder. That goal against Millwall to ensure safety. His spell at Derby was probably the best of his career.

Heineken® Silver is more than just a 4% lager. It is an extra refreshing, premium lager with a crisp, subtle finish and fruity aroma. It is a fresh attitude towards beer. Believing that being real and authentic is really refreshing in today's world.

I think Villa are a good barometer. Cooper's impact greater, but Smith turned around an underachieving squad mid-season. Admittedly, they had been play-off runners-up the previous season. Smith's stock was high, he'd done well at Brentford, though Cooper took Swansea to two play-off finishes.
Villa went on to spend big but still needed a final day win at West Ham to guarantee safety. Leeds have spent £150m to finish 17th two seasons later.
Smith is a progressive coach, the damage already done at Norwich by the time he came in, but it shows if you don't have the tools, there's only so much you can do.
Amidst all their euphoria, there was an interesting article on the bbc reflecting on Forest's long spell out of the top flight:
Nottingham Forest: Charting the Reds' 23-year journey back to the Premier League - BBC Sport
I thought this section was relevant to us in our current situation/plight.

That's what we need to do if/once the takeover goes through, use this dismal period to redefine the club in the right direction. The flipside to this is that Forest went on to overspend under Doughty. Clubs don't always learn their lessons or forget the past. Morris had the example of Lionel Pickering, of '07-'08. We are another clear example of this boom & bust cycle.

Can't be more arrogant than Morris. If you read his other tweets at least he states that he will leave the footballing side to people 'who know what they're doing'

You think they would do it for nothing? Perhaps all moaning about them being paid for this and who would have done so much better should have volunteered their services for free back in September. Their rates are totally normal for what they do. Again if Mel hadnt put us in admin we wouldnt have been paying them would we? All circles back to him

Down. There are almost no ''bad'' teams, left in the Premier League. The likes of Everton who nearly went down have multi million pound squads full of players who have played at the very top level. I can see it coming down to Fulham, Bournemouth, Leeds and Forest as being the strugglers. Hopefully we'll get to see the double header of Leeds and Forest relegation to coincide with our glorious Championship return... maybe I'm dreaming.

I think we have a long hard slog ahead before we can even think about making progress. It's the reality of life after too many years of a club being mismanaged on and off the field. This can't be rectified in a short space of time,  even if CK is the genuine article. The club has to operate within financial constraints which will determine that even as a 'big club' we won't have superiority over other clubs in L1.

Potential buyers of the stadium will have likely signed an NDA and will keep quiet until the transaction is complete. Anything appearing in the press will be denied for that reason, which has just happened with Clowes. Never heard of them by the way.

I think either way (he was good but not listened to / he was not very good / bit of a mixed bag) the clubs recruitment needed to be smarter and going forward I doubt many of us had "the recruitment team" on our "must be saved" list.

You only have to look at the comments from fellow journalists to understand how well regarded he is in the industry and how good he was. You even had Henry Winter posting on his Twitter feed. Excellent journalist that has had to suffer the digital age that has destroyed local reporting. His dedication to his role has been second to none. He’s a credit to Gerald Mortimer and he took on his mantle well, doubt we’ll see the like again l.

After 37 years service, Steve Nicholson finishes his reporting of Derby. No matter what you think of his articles now during the click bait world of the Derby Live website, he's been an absolutely outstanding linchpin to Derby media over the years. Before the social media world he, along with RD, were the number one source for all things Derby. I wish Steve all the best with whatever he does now, wherever it's retirement or somewhere new without the pressures of clickbait and online adverts. Thank you for all your hard work over 37 years Steve!
