  1. Derby County will never again qualify for Europe the cost of entry is now too high and dominated by the Greedy 6, therefore the only  football team playing overseas I can support is England and I derive immense pleasure from watching them in far flung countries and being with many like minded fans from teams from all over our green and pleasant land. 2026 World Cup will be in the USA Mexico and Canada so I will be able to support England in my backyard.

My final thoughts are that if you don't support the England team I assume it is because you are not patriotic and do not love your country.

If the old don't want to use an internet enabled device that is entirely their problem. There is no reason why the rest of society should be held back.

Even the small minority of blind football fans can still use devices to have the scores read to them.

Sorry to upset you, but much like cash radio is a relic of the past and is no longer necessary.

I am pleased that the only thing holding society back is the football results being read out on national radio at 5.00pm, I thought it was the idleness of the modern generation who expect everything handed to them on a plate with no work involved, I assume also that you do not plan on getting old and having any kind of disability, good for you!

Finally what is a "cash radio" I have used the google machine but cannot find any reference too one.

    Have a nice day.

I didn't even know what classified results meant. Why bother waiting for it to be announced on the radio when you can look at the scores any time you want on your phone. Its just dead air on the radio - may as well get rid.

Yes because the blind and the old who have not got access to a readable phone/iPad/pc don’t count as part of society do they, why should they have access to football scores on their radios.
The BBC have lost the plot yet again.

  4. I read today that Bristol Chity’s owner has put the club up for sale, they are also facing a points deduction under FFP, I see that Onanists tw@s in Bristol (OTIB) have started to focus on their own problems and have lost their pseudo sexual obsession with the Rams especially their chief onanist Miss P.

Shall we hold a party for them?

In all honesty...that's chump change for WR, What will be his Tax status in the USA?, Has he still a home there?, Would there be bonuses?

He will be on an O1 visa which means he will be taxed as an American citizen, where he lives is irrelevant, my guess in a serviced apartment, as you only pay tax at the end of the calendar year any bonus  paid would be part of his W2 which the employer gives to the employee which shows total earnings. The highest rate of federal tax is 37% son my tax calculator after deductions for being married etc he would pay $416,000 in tax

Money money money is why he quit, look at the contract at DC United he's on...

As I have stated in a previous post , WR's contract at DC United is only £16,065/week that is a sixth of the money he was allegedly earning at DCFC, I have looked at the contract as described in both the UK and USA media and can confirm your post is factually totally inaccurate

I've come across many people in my job who I would say have 'the gift of the gab'.

But this guy must be on another level to sucker in Goldman Sachs and other high-profile investors.

It certainly raises questions about the EFL and their owners test, that's for sure.

Edit: to clarify, I was all in on CK. He got me too.

It would appear that Mel Morris was (apart from a few of us on here) the only one of the decision makers to see through Kirchner, and hence his refusal to sell him the ground.

  8. 18 hours ago, Tyler Durden said:

I can tell you who's already paid for it at our club - the long list of creditors Morris owed before chucking the club into administration, some might be lucky to get a fraction of the money they're owed, some won't see anything.

As ever the facts don't fit the rant/narrative/vendetta you have against the club.

    1. Everyone no matter how small every creditor will get 25% of their outstanding debts, that is how the club avoided a points deduction when DC took over.

    2. The list of unsecured creditors was not long but was a very small list as itemised in the administrators. report

    3. The final decision from the small list of unsecured creditors is whether they will still want to trade with the Rams going forwards, my opinion is that they all will.

It is obvious you are running out of things to opine about now Wayne has gone and DC has purchased the club.

Doesn’t really tell us anything that we shouldn’t already know really. Rosenior was appointed Interim manager, a careful choice of wording (rather than caretaker manager) which insinuates he’ll be in charge for a longer period of time. Personally, I didn’t think that was the right thing to do - it’s still pre-season, so there’s plenty of time to interview and appoint a permanent manager before the campaign begins. I’d have just made Rosenior caretaker to look after things until either he or someone else got the permanent job.

But that’s a moot point now really, the decision has been made and a few weeks have past. Not sure anyone really needed it confirming that Liam will start the season in charge, but I guess the statement makes it explicit. I strongly suspect Rosenior will be our manager temporarily for this season, and then we’ll re-assess next summer. If he does well (i.e. gets us promoted) the job will probably be his, otherwise we will part ways at the end of his contract at no cost to us. I guess it makes financial sense, either way up we all need to forget about the long term for now and back Liam this season and see where he takes us.

For such a monumental decision as the Manager of the club, (remember Cocu, Clement, Docherty, and Brown etc etc) I would use the old craftsman's adage, Measure Twice  and cut Once, the decision to not make a final decision on the position is super sensible, I think we will measure the second time after several matches of the new season.

Gosh. Tad surprised at that. I hold no malice against him; but his “ watch” was near fatal to the Club.

Makes absolute sense to keep Pearce in his role, recruiting would take many months and presumably require a "headhunter" at a cost of 25% of the salary to be paid, Pearce is experienced and has years of sitting on the EFL board, and also good senior contacts at lower league levels. Would have been foolish to fire him at this time especially as his contact would need to have been paid up.

    Shrewd move by DC

  11. 9 minutes ago, kevinhectoring said:

You mean q asked him to continue ? I am sure they would have been guided by David C at that stage. Not sure we’ve seen any sign as to whether DC wanted him to stay or go.

I think there’s a fair chance Rooney was involved in CK/Stretford’s plans for our club and that his departure was connected to that. I certainly think it’s unwise to believe the blandishments you read in press releases about resignations and sackings.

as for his salary with us, I think you’d need to know exactly what the deal was with 32 to be able to unpick it. Also, the US deal might also involve all sorts of bonus arrangements

Q would not have tried to persuade Wayne to stay without the approval of DC, regarding bonus arrangements at DC United, if they existed we would see next season when the salaries are published, e.g Johnny Russell is on $1.6 million a year at Sporting Kansas, £1.356million or £26,075/week he is the second highest paid player in the team. There is total transparency on wages in the MLS

  12. 2 hours ago, kevinhectoring said:

Don’t think CK was doing the persuading. I think it’s more likely that Stretford persuaded CK to buy an English football club (Preston or derby would do), one where Wayne could hone his management skills and continue to earn a hefty salary.

According to the salary experts on here and on OTIB and also the mainstream UK media, Wayne was being paid £90,000 a week as the Rams manager, a figure which frankly I totally disbelieve. His new salary at DC United as reported by both the UK and USA media as being $1 million a year ( a figure which will be verifiable as MLS clubs publish all their salaries every year) which on todays exchange rate is £847,457 a year some £16,297 a week, that is 82% lower or only 1/6th  of his alleged DCFC salary. So all the comments and criticism about his alleged DCFC salary are total B.S. FWIW I do not believe he was drawing a salary when he resigned.

DCFC asked him to continue as manager, he said to them in all honesty it was time for a new captain of the ship,  a fact I believe. What I find interesting are the posters who were dead set against him last season continuing as manager now accuse him of being a greedy bar steward, when in fact he has moved on at a small fraction of the salary they allege he was on. The facts do not fit their narrative.

He has gone to manage a basket case in the MLS and I am convinced he will show he can be a great manager.

As an overseas subscriber I pay 17.50 a month
And as per another thread, slightly grumpy that despite paying for largely nothing in May & Jun and have an active subscription in July, apparently i need to pay another 5 pounds for each game

Not true I am watching the Bradford game without paying any more than my monthly subscription

If it's correct that Derby sold 6.500 season tickets in one day, at, let's say an average of £250 each, that will have brought in an immediate £1,625,000, which is just amazing!!!

Can they break the 20,000 season ticket barrier for this season?

Minus 20% VAT which is £1.3 million

Not doubting what you say for one minute but I’m sorry this is 2022 right?? The age of digital technology!! The target date of today was set several days ago, why hasn’t all the pontificating you suggest been done prior to today?? Exchange of such & such day (sign contracts) and complete (transfer money) on the 29/06. Complicated or not it’s not rocket science surely!! ?‍♂️?‍♂️

Just getting all the documents typed and prepared would have taken a few days, and although heads of terms would have been agreed in the last 72 hours no way can a deal as complex as this be done on docu-sign.

  16. OK having attended many closings on deals like this, this is what happens,

    1. The closing will take place at a lawyers office

    2. All the documents to be signed are laid out on a big table typically 20ft x 8ft

    3. Most documents run to many pages in many cases up to 50-60 pages each document, each page has to be read and signed and then countersigned by a witness , typically the lawyer handling the transaction.

    4. All of this takes many hours, I have completed S+P agreements at 4.00am having started before lunch the previous day.

    5. Only when all is signed does the money get transferred, as there is a charge holder , MSD then they will have their legal team there too.

I do not expect the deal to be completed today.

Most of us wanted Ashley as he has deep pockets and we can complain if he does not "invest". Spending lots of money remains the most effective way to get promoted and always has been. Despite seemingly well-run clubs like Brentford and Brighton doing well

Brighton have the 4th biggest debt in all of English football standing at £279 million with only Spurs Newcastle and Chelsea with largest debts. Brentford have debts of £74 million so neither of these clubs could be considered to self sustainable.

My only hope is that we can sell out a bigger car park than Wycombe

"There could be something coming to Wycombe"

Well, I hope he gets what's coming to him, at least

As he has not registered a claim with the administrators, and is not listed as a creditor, the best of luck to him.

I guess he wants cash to resurface his giant sold out car park.

They’ll be that gutted we’ve been saved, what they going to talk about now?

It’s not like anything interesting ever happens at Bristol City.

Yes indeed there will be nothing for them to do in the 6th form common room, but to carry on studying for GCSE book keeping and to carry on with their circle jerque.

I'm also nearing 40 now and don't like change of any sort, and everything I'm into seems to go back to the 90' early 00's, everything since then is rubbish ?

From my perspective not one decent song recorded since 1977
