ketteringram reacted to Day in Switching from SKY TV to NOW TV
So if you're upstairs and your router is downstairs, switch to 2.5ghz.
That will give you lower but more consistent speeds.
Devices such as TV's, any Amazon Alexa/HomePod style speakers, it's best to leave them on 2.5Ghz.
Save 5Ghz for phones, tablets, computers, game consoles

ketteringram got a reaction from Crewton in Finance thread 2022.
Had one fitted last November. Booked a day off work, to get it fitted (after them pestering me for months). It didn't work.
Booked another day off months later , for them to come and fix it.
It still doesn't work. So I'm still sending in manual readings each month , like I used to. I'm fine with that, but would have preferred not to waste those two days !

Great timing, personally, for a thread like this. I'm currently under a lot of work stress (insecurity) at the moment and it's made me very irritable and snappy - mostly with my family.
I'm not going to list everything positive here but frankly, my fabulous wife of 10 years and amazing 9 year old daughter deserve better and just making me think and focus on the good stuff for a few minutes has helped me no end.
Thanks

Thanks for this. Must have passed me by. Don't ever recall it being shown or trailed on BBC.
One of my all time favourite shows is The Newsroom (Jeff Daniels). This looks similar. Will check it out. ?

Completely agree with this.
Never understood the qualifier "at this level..." before saying something like "you've got to take your chances." How many leagues do you have to drop before it's not a massive issue if you miss the goal when you're trying to score?

I think the switch is great.
If you like driving games, Rush Rally Origins is a great little game for a fiver.
You can also get loads of classic SNES games.

ketteringram reacted to loweman2 in Alan Hintons White Boots
Alan Hinton has always been interested in and appreciative of the work I put in to preserve the history and rich heritage of the club going back a long time so it was a great surprise to hear from him that he wanted to send over his iconic match worn, signed white Hummel boots from the early 1970s.
He was one of the first to go against the grain and you had to have confidence in your ability to stand out to that extent, he did of course have ability in abundance and could ping in a cross from any angle with either foot, he was also top scorer in the Championship Winning season in 1971-72.
A real piece of our history.

Take a distraction, like an Ipad or similar.
When the footballs not so good, it helps to have something else distracting, make sure you've downloaded Peppa Pig beforehand, as the WiFi won't work.
Maybe take one for your daughter, too, in case she gets bored.
