ramsbottom reacted to uttoxram75 in GB news
Having looked at the history of some of the major backers of GB News I would be very surprised if the overall narrative does not push for further deregulation of financial markets, more privatisations of public services, pro-corporate agendas, anti trade union legislation, campaigns against tax dodging laws, corporate courts that overrule government decisions, Freeports/Charter Cities that are outside the jurisdiction of the host country.
The so called culture wars are nothing but a smokescreen. We'll fight against each other while the major players continue to destroy any semblance of a decent society in their relentless pursuit of power and profit.

Who can possibly be happy with restrictions?!?!?!? I'm as hacked off about having to wear face masks, not being able to see my family all at one time, and not being able to nip out for a bite to eat without booking 3 days in advance as anybody else, but I'd gladly take another 4 weeks of doing so if it meant we stood a better chance of not having to do it again in 4 months time...

Fair dos to the Sweaty Socks for having a go but this is what happens when your best player is stuck at left back and you’ve got the clogger’s clogger Grant Hanley as your defensive rock…
We shouldn’t have anything to fear from either side.

Was scouring iPlayer for something to watch the other day and came across When We Were Kings, which bizarrely has been rebranded as a Storyville documentary. Oscar winning film about The Rumble in the Jungle. Essential viewing...

The constant slating of him for being Lampard’s class pet offers conclusive proof that Chelsea fans are a bunch of bell-whiffs, who know feck all about football.

As a lot of folk have been going crazy about the latest season of Unforgotten I took the plunge and started a catch up on Netflix. Gotta say it's very good. No troubled, lone wolf detectives, no unrealistic, hard-bitten dialogue, clichés avoided for the most part, just decent coppers trying to solve intriguing crimes.
Highly recommended

ramsbottom reacted to Gee SCREAMER !! in Leeds United Premier League Adventures
Suppose it's better than a manager of a championship club looking after his own future interests by mumbling for two minutes about owners of these clubs know what their doing, who are the top six clubs I'm not sure, lt's going to happen and clubs in lower leagues will be looked after so that's good. Cover all bases mate.
Stand up Mr Rooney.

ramsbottom reacted to Rev in What would McClaren do with this team?
A rescue job with half the games left wouldn't be Mac's thing, we'd probably be slightly better off than now, but only just.
Billy on the other hand, would have had us pushing hard for the play offs.

Billy would have had us cemented in the play offs by now, no doubt.

Currently enjoying Toast of London on Netflix.
Matt Berry plays a voice over artist and occasional actor (Stephen Toast) who finds himself in crazy situations.
Great cast with Robert Bathhurst as his room mate, Harry Peacock as his nemesis Ray bloody Purchess, and the lovely Tracy Ann Obermann as Purchess's wife and Toast's lover.
Very funny.
