Carl Sagan got a reaction from Wolfie in Promotion Rivals Watch
Congratulations to Portsmouth who are promoted as Champions after tonight's results, which were:
Portsmouth 3 Barnsley 2 Bolton 2 Shrewsbury 2 Peterborough 4 Fleetwood 1 A fabulous draw by Shrewsbury means we only need 4 points from the final 2 games to guarantee promotion. Goal difference not quite enough to rely on just the 3 points. But if both Bolton and Peterborough drop points on Saturday, victory at Cambridge would see us up.
The other Saturday fixtures are:
Bolton vs Port Vale Bristol Rovers vs Peterborough -

Carl Sagan reacted to plymouthram in Where do you think we'll finish this season?
You need to look at the League One table again, us and Pompey are the lowest goal scorers in the top 6 teams and when you consider Pompey have had a whopping 13 penalties including tonight's which having watched was another dodgy decision.

Bolton play Port Vale this Saturday. Its a must win for Vale or they're down. Hopefully the biggest club in Staffordshire will get the result they need to stay up. The chance of playing their noisy neighbours from across the dystopian wasteland next season will motivate them even more to stay up!
It would be rather nice to wave to the Stokies as we pass them coming down from an Utcheter perspective as well.
Bloody hell, could the stars align that much to see the gumps down, Leicester fck up and Derby slip effortlessly into the Championship?

You do realise we'll be going into the last game in 2nd by 2 goals and s******* our pants that either Bolton or Peterborough will beat one 3-0 either way as we grimly hang on to a 1-0. It's the Derby way.

My take is that the Warne future discussion remains premature. With all my heart I hope he succeeds and gets us over the line, fulfilling what in the summer were the minimum expectations of the majority of the forum (in the days when polls were allowed).
We know we are guaranteed a chance of automatic promotion going into the final game. Even with the possibility of being promoted before the final game. I say let's watch it play out and then discuss what happens next. By that point, @Davidmight even allow us to have a poll again?

Rail seating does not introduce any more seats at all. The seats are the same, just a rail added.

Carl Sagan reacted to Day in Undercover Rams
Too late now, but probably wise not to advertise the fact there is a number of away fans in the home end with a week to go before the game.
Doesn't take much for the opposition club to catch wind and look into the ticket sales, one person reporting it, most clubs offer a no refund policy as well if you buy in the wrong end so they have nothing to lose by cancelling your ticket.

A good example is that Derby should have sacked Billy Davies when they were promoted last time. They didn't and it was a mistake. Warne is obviously not the same basket case, the overarching point though is that a manager being right for the situation we are in now doesn't mean they will be moving forwards.

I’m still of the opinion that if we appointed a different manager we’d have been promoted last season.

For those who want to see the whole table since that Stevenage match.
Comfortably the best side in the division based on points won since that match.

The opposite has been the case and by a long way, Wycombe was the 8th game we've scored less than we should have and we've scored more in 19(!)
Creativity is the area we've lacked compared to others -maybe down to conservative tactics not quality- rather than taking the chances.

Carl Sagan reacted to alexxxxx in Points Deduction, Who's Next And When Will It Stop?
They just make it up as they go along. I don't support Leicester breaking the rules but it's just clear to me that EFL is run by a cabal of club directors and go after clubs base on what they feel is right.
We need a regulator and proper process.

After yesterday's results:
Bolton 1 Portsmouth 1 RAMS 3 Orient 0 Oxford 5 Peterborough 0 we now have
Bolton play their game in hand on Tuesday at home to Shrewsbury, with Peterborough at home to Fleetwood the same night. You'd expect them both to win, but if Peterborough don't and if Bolton lose, a win for us on Saturday would secure promotion.
