Can't believe that anyone won't be bothered if we lose this one. I really want a win! Those that aren't bothered need to take a good look at themselves.

I think the more pertinent question is : are the majority of the new conscripts still drawn from the poorer, remote republics a long, long way from Moscow, or are recent recruits now more drawn from 'European' Russia? If it's the latter, that's more likely to affect public opinion overall than the former if there continues to be heavy casualties.

Working class people will die in battle and/or be left in abject poverty while the billionaires and oligarchs will create more wealth for themselves.
We never learn.

The unions haven't been infiltrated by politicians - Labour is the party of the unions. It was created by them, if anything Labour has been infiltrated by people trying to change the party's purpose.

Why do we try to pride ourselves on being expected to work when ill, when mentally we aren't able, and when the job is literally killing us?
Why do we talk down the idea of unions defending physical and mental health?
I don't see the sense in saying, I'm killing myself, you all should be doing the same.
Workers are racing to the bottom and taking pride in winning the race.

sheeponacid reacted to Old Spalding Ram in Thank you Mr Clowes.
We signed six players, Collins, Smith, McGoldrick, Mendez-Laing, Hourihane and Chester, anyone of which would probably get into any other team in this league.
We’ve managed to keep Knight, Bird, Cashin, Sibley, Davies, Thompson, Stearman and Forsyth.
We’ve signed youngsters Oduroh, Rooney plus Dobbin, Osula and Roberts on loan.
We signed three keepers including Wildsmith who is my player of the season.
Considering that just a few months back we were on the verge of handing the club to Kirchner, had five players under contract and no pre season the performances so far are to quote a well known ex manager of this famous football club “nothing short of remarkable”.
Happy New Year to all Ramsfans and……………………Thank you David Clowes.

Why is Tommo getting grief.
He’s a great lad and should be treated better.
Some people amaze me.
Obviously not seeing the bigger picture.

sheeponacid reacted to BaaLocks in Vivienne Westwood - RIP
OK - this might not be the place where much time is given to discussing fashion (save @David banging on about his new Apple gizmo) but Vivienne was, after all, a Derbyshire lass so she's worth it. And she so brought the ethos of punk to the clothing - it's hard to think that punk would have been anything of the shock it was without the clothing that went with it. Steve Jones on the BIll Grundy show with his 'boobs' t-shirt, Johnny Rotten singing Anarchy in his Mummy vest, the kissing Cowboys, all of it was driven by the art school brigades out of St Martins In The Field and led, so led, by Vivienne Westwood. An absolute icon of the time, the late 1970s would not have been the same without her. RIP Viv.

While out searching for goose eggs i spotted a snowy owl standing a couple of meters from a goose on her nest. i walked slowly towards the owl and got within ten meters before it silently took to the air. Gorgeous bird.

The NHS has been failing since the 70/80s. Time long overdue to get rid of a whole raft of time serving middle management who do bugger all, and hire and pay better the frontline staff with the savings made.

sheeponacid reacted to GboroRam in Gotta love Extinction Rebellion
You see, that's blatantly not true.
When Insulate Britain were arguing for a national insulation program you argued against it. Although it would be better for all, you didn't agree because personally you wanted something different.
When ideas are floated to reduce miles driven you disagree because personally you want to carry on doing what you always have done.
If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got.

sheeponacid reacted to Mucker1884 in George Cohen... RIP
England World Cup winner George Cohen has died, aged 83.
The right-back played every minute of the six matches in the 1966 tournament and was vice-captain for the 4-2 win over West Germany in the Wembley final.
Manchester United's legendary winger George Best described him as "the best full back I ever played against”.
He is survived by just two of the '66 final starting 11... Bobby Charlton and Geoff Hurst.
RIP, Sir.

sheeponacid reacted to Day in Career advice
All to common this is.
Heading into your 30's loaded with debt for all the fancy letters a University can offer, yet no idea what path to take.
Meanwhile the competition sat alongside you waiting to be interviewed have 10+ years working experience, which can be more valuable than the fancy letters that hold no real weight in the direction you decide to take.
All you have proven is to be intelligent in an interest, doesn't show you can be on your feet all day, grinding away, work well with others, reliable, punctual, all the things employers look for.
Not many people have the luxury of knowing exactly what career path to take, completing the studies and then walking into employment that pays well and everything you want is very rare.
I'm sure you remember Joe on here from years ago, he did all the Uni stuff, history if I remember correctly, ended up in a Sky call centre. A job which with all due respect, many can walk into with minimal GCSE's.
If I was you, I'd look at career advice, passing on your story to school leavers and making sure Uni is right for them.
