A truly amazing spot B4….absolutely astounding ….snowy owls rarely venture any further south than the Cairngorms, but if the temperatures get down really low like they were a week or two ago then they can appear further south. It might have been an escapee from a private keeper, but either way it is important that you report the sighting to the Derbyshire Wildlife trust and the RSPCB…. Chances are they would think we your playing a prank call. Thing is of turn up again I think it would be wise too. but the high winds blew it off cause hopeful it found it way home. ramit Posted December 29, 2022 Share Posted December 29, 2022 While out searching for goose eggs i spotted a snowy owl standing a couple of meters from a goose on her nest. i walked slowly towards the owl and got within ten meters before it silently took to the air.
