England World Cup winner George Cohen has died, aged 83.

The right-back played every minute of the six matches in the 1966 tournament and was vice-captain for the 4-2 win over West Germany in the Wembley final.

Manchester United's legendary winger George Best described him as "the best full back I ever played against”.

He is survived by just two of the '66 final starting 11... Bobby Charlton and Geoff Hurst.

RIP, Sir.

is it only two left of the 1966 team now? And Bobby Charlton has dementia sadly.

Yeah, its almost the end of an era for us chaps of a certain age.

Its always had special memories for me as I watched it on a black and white TV with me dad on 30th July 1966, dad's 30th birthday!

If anyone gets the chance, watch the whole match, its a gripping, close fought game between two great teams.

George Cohen was a quick, strong, attacking fullback. If he'd played for Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal etc he'd have been far more well known but he played for Fulham for 14 seasons so never really got the recognition he deserved.
