We've made better signings for free this window than we have paying over inflated fees for absolute rubbish in recent seasons. Morrison is 100 times better than some of the signings we've made in the same position in the last 5 seasons

    I’ll go:-
when I was ignorant, and lacking the intelligence I think I’ve now got, I’ve racially abused people, I’ve been homophobic, I’ve discriminated against the disabled and mentally ill/challenged and been sexist. In fact, I doubt there’s an “ism” I haven’t tinkered with and I doubt there’s an “ist” I haven’t behaved like (in discriminatory terms obviously). Then my exposure to the real world expanded, my horizons broadened, my empathy and humanity bloomed and I grew up..
in spite of all the despicable behaviour and things I said, I never once felt hatred though. Looking back, it was an attention seeking thing, to make others laugh, or to show off or fit in.

To add, that’s no excuse. I still find myself in moments of shame thinking back, but my social circles have been reinvented and my environment changed, the standard of people I socialise with massively improved.

Thanks, when we first moved in it had a huuuuuuge lawn.  I thought there is no way I'm mowing that every week lol, so cornered a section off and bought a few chickens ?.  Since then that area has grown and now have approx 25 chickens and 20 quails - we supply half the street with cheap eggs!
Over the past few years we have relaid the patio, created a nice lawn and sectioned off another 'allotment' area.  The bottom bit of the garden was always a problem area though that we never knew what to do with.  Then following the death of our first dog a few years ago the Vets kindly sent us a condolence card containing wildlife seeds to plant and remember her by that we hung onto - that along with watching numerous episodes of 'Garden Rescue' last year was all the inspiration I needed to get creative!  Although it is surprising how much it costs to make it look natural lol...
I'm trying to encourage bee's as well, I am very tempted to get an Omlet Bee Hive - I noticed they has started doing them a while back whilst shopping for a bigger chicken coop.

Your garden sounds wonderful, @maxjam! Hedgehogs are so endangered now and they need all the help we can give them. We have had our hedgehog house down for 2 years with no visitors so it was so wonderful today to see one inside! Hope you get to see one very soon. My husband, Steve, works in Moorland restoration in the Peak District and so we try to garden organically, be 'bee friendly'  and do all we can to encourage wildlife to our garden. All the best for your nature garden!!

HI, @Beetroot! Thanks for your post! Hedgehogs are in so much in decline at present that they need all the help they can get. They used to travel through loads of gardens at night, sometimes by up to a mile but now that we have replaced hedges with fences they can't travel as they once did. The population has declined drastically recently and they need all the help they can get at present. Glad you can help! X

We've got a very large garden and recently turned the bottom part of it over to nature, put a few hedgehog houses down and natural pond etc.  Not seen any evidence of anything yet but its only been there since March, I'm hoping this winter I might be able to attract some wildlife with food n shelter etc.
    Gratz on your babies!

We have had a hedgehog house in our garden for the last two years and today there was a hedgehog curled up inside. So excited! I could see a little bristly bottom just inside the door! Will feed it appropriate food and give water and encourage it to have lots of babies in our garden. So excited by this discovery!

Yep. Fully understand the sentiment of the thread but equally we’ve had our nose in front 4 times now, if we had kept a clean sheet in all those games, well the maths are easy on lost points.
You could just as easily say, scoring first is not a problem but managing a game out to keep a clean sheet is an issue.

Not with 9 points it wouldn’t. Smacks of EFL trying to save face and trying to get us to agree to something to move on.

Approach him and say "I have noticed what your doing and I dont really care, however there is a street WhatsApp group and they are mentioning getting the police to watch you so just giving you the heads up"
Maybe go for the "nice one mate" approach rather than "come here again and I will phone the police"

People who complain on trip advisor etc even when they have been given everything possible to resolve their issues at the point of the problem. Why do that?  Mistakes happen, if every effort has been made to compensate and apologise why isn’t that enough? They still have to have that last underhand spiteful dig.

Rooney needs to be careful and learn from January. We had a really close knit group then as well, we then brought in a load of players on deadline day and the team spirit seemed to drop.

while I would welcome an end to the embargo because that would probably mean the accounts and fop are ok, I do not want us to sign 8 players more players this window. If players leave it may be different, but if we keep all the players then no. Near in mind that if the embargo ends the Cashin etc also become available.

Didn't put a foot wrong all game. Calm on the ball, great positioning, great leadership, won every tackle, won every header, even when they outpaced him he just put his body in the way?.  Age is just a number!

I don't go to games to be honest, living over a 100 miles away and with no-one around me to go with, plus work/family commitments, it's just not really doable. I do however fervently follow DCFC daily, through this forum, online and watch every televised game. I also catch some of the U23 games.
I do have a Rams Lite membership, if not to at least give the club some coffers.  Have I lost interest?  Nah.  Have I lost confidence and feel beaten down by the club I've supported for 45 years. Yes.  Maybe COVID hasn't helped but every time I open this forum, Twitter, Face Book, NewsNow or anything else, I do so expecting yet another problem and generally aren't disappointed.  At the moment it's just one thing after another.  I was so pleased to see Stretton score the other day, thinking and hoping that, do you know what, 4 points in our first two games would be great.  But no.  This is Derby - we not only lose, but CKR is crocked for 3 months. And we then sign a CB who's almost as old as me, and a striker whose goal scoring record can be counted on the hands of a T-Rex. I guess it's a sign of where we're at as a club.
One day soon, I hope,  I'll only see positive news but right now, supporting this great club of ours is hard on my soul. Melodramatic maybe, but having faced so much personally over the past 20 months, I could really do with us getting a break!  However, I'll keep smiling {through gritted teeth} ?

I became disillusioned with the professional game almost 20 years ago now.  For me it was spoilt by greed and the increasing financial domination of the so-called big six.  I follow the Rams now out of habit more than anything else. The best example I can give you of why I became disillusioned is a recent one.  It can be defined by two words.
    Lionel Messi.
Cries crocodile tears at a press conference because his current club can't afford to pay him 50 squillion euros a year to add to his already vast fortune which must be bigger than a third world debt. He he really wanted to play then he could afford to do so for nothing for the rest of his career.
I had a DCFC season ticket from the early sixties in the days of Tim Ward up to 2006 when I retired.  I stopped buying a ST then and never had one since, being unable to justify the silly amount it now costs.
Other team - well I've watched Belper Town for a long time now and have a Concessionary Season Ticket for the princely sum of £65 a year, full price being is a bit more.  For that I get a friendly club where they seemingly know everyone by their first name, a really good standard of football, a pleasant social club and some of the best match food available anywhere at VERY cheap prices.
If Belper are playing too far away for me to travel, I go the Matlock Town, Alfreton Town, Heanor Town or Mickleover Sports.
I enjoy my football now far more then I ever did when I was watching the Rams, especially latterly.

    Bill
