Some slating Hourihane is laughable IMO
If we wanted players who will run through brick walls and have constant energy like Knight for example we would not have signed Hourihane at all
He has scored some good goals and assisted quite a few as well so guess what ? if you take him out I don't think it would help.... He has never been a marauding CM and has value on the pitch for me as long as the other mids balance it out
To say he is one of the worst signings ever is a joke quite frankly....Mikkel Beck , Bob Malcolm , Derek Hales , Claude Davis , there's plenty of players deserved of that title and Hourihane is not one of them

So what are you suggesting Leeds, we sack Warne then what? I liked Liam and was surprised and disappointed that we let him go. But the decision has been made and I think we need to get behind Warne. He hasn’t had the easiest of jobs and there was always going to be a blip along the road after our wonderful run. I don’t want to go back to the rollercoaster of sacking managers after less than a season, especially when we are still in the top 6 and starting all over again. Let’s show a bit of patience and see what happens ?

I have not commented on  this forum in years as I have not really had the need but recently I have started to have serious concerns about certain aspects of Warne’s management that he needs to work on , let alone the players.
Firstly it has been quite obvious that Curtis’ legs have gone. Much as I love the guy it was sad to see him look totally lost,  I know that PW said they had a bad day at the training office but it must be obvious that CD is struggling. it must be so easy to see in training, so why play him?
Tactically it could have been altered within the first 15 by bringing Roberts on. Fossie also looks slow on the left and it then exposed Cashin, who then started to wobble as he was not sure who was around him. A good manager doesn’t soldier on, he affects changes. Too much dwelling and no incisiveness. If I and those all around me can see the issue, then why can’t the paid professionals?
Because he didn’t make immediate changes the result was destabilising team morale by changing two players two minutes before half time, that were symptoms of the issue but not the cause.
My major concern is that we underestimate the opposition, as most of the lesser teams are physically aggressive, crunch up the mid-field and do a press on the back four, although the press was not massively evident yesterday. We are predictable and easy to play, opponents stop our game and then we fall into midfield head tennis and channel balls invariably going nowhere. We need to learn how to counter this if we are to progress but i do not see much evidence of this on the field. PW must work on this, along with the development of further strategic planning in the event that a team does A, then changes to plan B and so on; which has been evident from the opposition in many recent games.

One thing that is clearly evident from this league, is that there is a good set of opposition coaches that use quite a lot of guile and gamesmanship to get results. Just running faster is not the answer, we need to be developing other dimensions to our play and taking note of what to expect.

You see Warne is dammed if he does, damned if he doesn’t.
Let’s say he had gone 3-5-2 and we lose 1-0 or draw 0-0. People would have said he’s too negative and too cautious.
Again, I think you are being harsh.

We know a few key facts.
Derby's revenue is higher than originally budgeted for. Derby cannot pay transfer fees.
Wigan had a revenue of £8m and had a wage bill (including bonuses) of £13m. Wigan were allowed to spend money on players - one believed to be about £700k.

A worst case scenario would have put Derby at a revenue of £16m, with a realistic figure being in the low to mid £20 millions. Derby's wage budget is estimated to be below what Wigan spent on wages.
There's no doubt in my mind that the EFL haven't been fair.

I will post in this awfully named thread. I am not convinced that Sibley is a number 10 striker, though McGoldrick doesn't half love dropping deep, so maybe Didzy is indeed really a midfielder. I think Louie's position is in midfield, from box to box, as he has such great ability to carry the ball at a terrified opposition. And, as Warne said today, Louie was specifically tasked with shadowing Brannagan "who's their best player by a country mile". But I certainly think that this Derby team is best when McGoldrick and Sibley are both playing in it, in attacking positions. We struggle to play McGoldrick and Collins together, so the obvious way to improve our attacking threat without two supposed out and out strikers, is to play McGoldrick and Sibley together. Louie is our future but I'd like to see him and McGoldrick playing off each other around the opposition box, for the remainder of this season and, hopefully, next year in the Championship.

Love Louie. Admire him so much for getting on with it at LB and think he was instrumental to that long run with the excellent defensive record. But so happy for him today to get to play where he enjoys and get 2 goals.

It's a bit unfortunate for Louie that his best position is the one currently occupied by our Player of the Season so far.
It's also difficult for him to come in and play anywhere near that level with a few snatched moments here and there.
But Louie is our future. If I were him, I'd be learning every little thing I could from McGoldrick and looking to be his natural successor.

It’s done him no harm at LB, he’s learnt about positioning and how he can help the team. Said this a little while back but I think he’s learnt more under Warne than any other manager we’ve had.
But yes stick him further forward now please and let him mix his raw potential we’ve seen with that bit of nous he’s got from LB
Square pegs in square holes please.

We badly miss him. I remember the match after he was injured and we battered Morecambe 5-0. People were saying we didn't need him, just pure madness. Hopefully he's back fit for our last 10 games of the season, secure playoffs and give them a good go and it's imperative he's fit and in form.

Watching SKY it's easy to see that football is eventually going to die.
Whatever her name is, Jamie Mackie and Cowley 1 or 2 discussing tonight's penalty, said its a hard one to call, justifying the player cheating by saying White stuck his leg out so minimal if any contact was enough to dive, and praising the ref for giving a positive decision.
THE GAME IS DYING, and this mealy mouthed approval is just helping it on his way.
The Plymouth guy dived, they beat us because they cheated and that is apparently OK. We'll it isn't ok with me, you make your own minds up

Last September I was playing football with my grandson, and hurt my knee. I didn’t bother the doctors because the knee gradually returned to near normal, but still quite painful at times. It was such a time I winced, and my wife “advised “ me to see the doctor, which I duly attended, knee examination, all OK, I asked for a PSA (having seen the information at Pride Park) check which he duly gave me the paperwork. The test came back 7.1, I’m over 70 so 6.5 is regarded as normal. I was dispatched to the Derby Royal, had the anal examination, ( for the first time) small lump found. In five weeks I’ve had a MRI scan,my prostrate biopsy done, and a QT scan, and I’m now on a hormone treatment plan. It appears they’ve caught the tumour early, and the prognosis is good, they say it will be eliminated. You do lose your dignity at times, but not going through that door and having the exam you could lose a lot more.
A shout out to the doctors and nurses at the Derby Royal, they have been absolutely terrific, informative, and very understanding, and caring.

I think some of our fans really don’t appreciate how things work in this division.
There seems to be this idea that we just play some possession football and we can win and rest a bit, but you’d probably find yesterdays point would turn into zero points.
It really isn’t that simple. Have you seen the way the opposition work, battle, timewaste, even cheat in more extreme cases?
The only way to succeed is to compete, look at the form teams at the moment, Sheff Wed and Barnsley, they are relentless till the final minute, they mix it in with some decent football, but they never stop, or even slowdown.
Its the formula for success in this division and we are/have become fairly good at it, we sadly just don’t have the squad for it at present due to the EFL business plan, the cup run didn’t help either.
Warne has got a tough job on keeping the keeping them fit and keeping the intensity high in a small squad with a big quality drop off outside the main starting eleven. He’s doing a decent job of it all things considered.

One of the easiest halves of football we’ve had for years, but the players must’ve felt that on the pitch. They came out, no doubt after being read the riot act, whilst we expected a similarly easy second half. 15 minutes of half arsed play, we’d undone all our good play from the first half. We will play worse and win this season, but I do worry about the lack of bottle in this team - Wycombe, Barnsley and Shrewsbury have all shown somewhat of a soft underbelly in recent weeks.
A lot of football left to get it right, but but I wouldn’t be putting a lot of money on us getting it promoted through the playoffs on current showings. Not quite ready to throw the towel in, but I think it will be difficult - especially given how awful we are away from home.
