derbydaz22 reacted to SKRam in NEW KIT
Half the time training gear is better than kit. And that’s for a few clubs IMO

Someone who's scored 43 goals in over two seasons in league one in a poor side is exactly the type we need.
Warne says he wants players between 25-30 and whilst he's at the top end of that he can clearly finish. We more than likely will be playing a 352 next season so we need at least 4 strikers and having 2 of last season's top scorers in the ranks will surely be a good thing.
We're in League One and we need good league one players and he's one of them.

I’d add Mark Wright to those 3.
He was the big transfer fee of the deal with Southampton, Shilton probably bigger wages.
Thought he was a classy defender, had a way of organising the defence around him.
And I think we made money on him too.

We've already got one J.Knight, and I for one am not prepared to deal with the level of nonsense of having more than that...
Unless the plan is to actually line up with the "Jason Knight Knight Knight" chant? In which case we need one more...

I only remember him for being absolutely awful against us. 2-0 home win, I believe.

Played 40+ times for Rangers this season, linked with Everton... he's not coming to League One.

Exactly. And when Forest finally sell Brennan Johnson it will be for a humungous figure. We just haven't produced any strikers or wingers to speak of really. Having said that maybe it was just about bear fruit when Morris gave up and pulled the plug. It would have been good to see how Omari Kellyman and Kaide Gordon would have got on eventually here. We have been really robbed with those two. And I do think that Morgan Whittaker is starting to come through now as I suspected he would. Warne would have loved to have the option of Dylan Williams for left wing back I'm sure. And Festy for the right wing back. Shame

Spot on. I happened to have interviewed Warne a few times when I worked in the Apprenticeship sector, when he was still Rotherham manager and he was doing various higher level courses on Leadership & Management and Psychology etc. He is big in to his psychology, motivation and leadership techniques and is a very intelligent man and I am 100% confident that everything he says to his players and to the media etc. is said for a reason and because he understands his players as people and knows how to make them tick. I know most managers should have this skillset but I know for a fact that he is particularly interested in it and it is a major strength of his. I don't think anything is said carelessly or by chance.

What, no one? I know it's a bit rundown, but you would expect someone to be there.

derbydaz22 reacted to Caerphilly Ram in Lee Bonis - new contract at Larne
Your recent posts have dismissed the standard of free agents we might be able to sign, dismissed the potential for us to spend fees, and is seemingly now just dismissing any potential signing we make.
How about waiting to see how it unfolds before peddling anymore doom? The fact we can allegedly spend fees has already disproved some of your claims, how we spend those fees will be key. Bargains will be out there and we are going to be a draw to many players.

Buchanan was a FIFA compensation as he went to a foreign club. I seem to remember an amount of around £300k. It was the principle as much as anything with him and his fellow rat Byrne.

You jest, but the timing is interesting. Perhaps it's just (another) coincidence? Or, as others have implied, did the EFL want to ensure Derby had stayed down before taking their foot off the club's throat?
I'm glad it's happened. I will never be convinced the EFL have treated us remotely fairly.

Great news , we can compete for players by paying “Moderate” fees. (£500k perhaps). We already pay top wages that take up our ticket and tv money. The big difference will be is that this will be Warne’s team. So as we have learnt the hard way - Recruitment is crucial.

We should spend big and for accounting purposes put all the fees on the last year of the new signings’ contracts. Will be in the premier league by then so FFP won’t matter. can’t see anything that can go wrong.
also we should be targeting whoever Middlesbrough are trying to sign and gazump them

derbydaz22 reacted to RadioactiveWaste in Embargo and Transfer restrictions lifted
Whilst it's great news that the EFL restrictions have been lifted, that is on the understanding we operate in line with our proposed business plan, which I imagine is probably pretty conservative in terms of projected spend and revenues. A business plan to the liking of the EFL in fact.
We can move freely but not bigly.

When are we making a bid for Jude Bellingham? 😀
-
derbydaz22 reacted to Kernow in Embargo and Transfer restrictions lifted
We aren’t going to just jump into being Ipswich and pay 7 figure fees for individuals. I doubt we’d even be allowed to.
But it’s going to make all the difference that we can spend something, we must’ve been ruled out of so many targets because we couldn’t pay nominal fees, or agents wanted a few thousand for brokering a deal.
Saying all that, I will be baying for blood if deadline day comes and goes and we don’t splash out £4mil on the next Jacob Butterfield.

derbydaz22 reacted to MarsdenRam in Paul Warne appointed as Head Coach
Thought experiment: imagine Warne is pushed or jumps ship over the summer after only a part season. That would leave us with one of the all-time 'what ifs', especially if his replacement struggles.
This demand for immediate results is exactly what got Derby in the s*** in the first place.
We need to hold our nerve and not sound like a load of little girls.

derbydaz22 reacted to Jourdan in Sheffield Wednesday (A) Sun 7th May, 12:00 KO
I think two words define this season: fine margins. Since February, we’ve fallen on the wrong side of them every time.
The players gave everything today and the performance was a creditable one. The game hinged on one mistake and sometimes in football that’s all it takes.
Some might deem this season a failure and the anti-Warne sentiment will no doubt be in overdrive over the coming days and weeks, but it’s needless.
Personally I don’t think at any point we’ve looked like one of the three best teams in the division, so I don’t think there should be much of a hangover if any at all. The signs have been there that it is simply one season too soon.
We just have to lick our wounds, regroup quickly, have a positive rebuild over the summer and go out and finish in the top two in 23-24.
Not going into the Championship with this group of players and under financial restrictions could turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
I said this a few weeks ago and the sentiment remains - this is where Warne’s work really starts.

Go on Warne, cop an FA charge for saying what we all think about the standard of officiating this season across the league.
With what happened at Bristol Rovers the other week, now today, it's beyond shambolic.
