This will be a cagey affair similar to the game at their place. 0-0 or 1-0 either way I think. We’re at home, remember we’ve lost once in the last 5 months, for all people are trying to say it’s dire, only Barnsley and Fleetwood have we been truly bad in this recent run.
Im backing us to s******** our way to a 1-0 in this one.

Well getting onto the players early if not playing well is not going to do anything for their confidence, especially the young ones is it. If you want to boo(personally i dont do booing) at least save it till the final whistle.

He's done an absolutely outstanding job so far. Slightly slow start but he's really got us firing now. The only thing we don't have an answer for at this stage is how potentially we will fare if we get promoted. It's perhaps understandably a slight reservation amongst some fans that he has not (yet) managed to get a team to stick having got them promoted to the Championship but that may in part be down to resources at his previous club. Who knows, he may take it in his stride but we certainly need to not carry any inferiority complex with us if we end up facing much better sides. If I'm honest I was a little disappointed in the West Ham game as we seemed to show them a lot of respect and never really laid a glove on them. I was hoping that we'd have a right go but it was a bit of a damp squib in the end.

The reality is though that if we get promoted at some stage then there will be teams that we face that will have financial resources that are beyond anything we have due to the obscene size of the parachute payments. Regardless though, these teams were our peers for season after season in recent times and our fans will be expecting us to show no fear and no undue respect.
The big challenge though is not really just about Warnes' ability to carry his philosophy and tactics to a higher level,  but with the EFL millstone around our transfer dealings we are very limited in what we can offer him to upgrade his squad in the event of promotion and that's a bit of a worry for me. It's not really just about Warne himself stepping up, what level of financial support can we give him to back up progress so far ? The negotiations with the EFL will surely be vital in giving Warne the flexibility that he needs to keep shaping the squad. There is only so much you can so with out-of-contract players from the 'surplus to requirement' pile at other clubs. We've done amazingly well in that regard but it's not really a plan for future progress.
Having said all of that, if you'd shown me the current table in the summer I'd have thought you were certifiable ! Hard not to be anything other than chuffed to bits with how it has panned out. Team, Owner and Manager are a credit to the club and themselves at the moment.

Wednesday fan in peace. Tough times for us both, 2 great clubs who’s fans deserve better than what we are getting at the minute. Hope you guys join us in the top 2 come end of the season. On current form, there’s no doubt about it. Have great memories of the baseball ground. That epic 3-3 fa cup game in 1993 is the best away game I’ve been to. Up the owls & rams ?

FFP rules should never have been implemented without buy-in from the Premier League and the integration of the rules across both the PL and the EFL. The fact that teams could be promoted and then effectively sit on the other side of an impregnable fence, flicking the V's at the EFL regulators is a sick joke. For the EFL then to come out and say, as they consistently did when investigating the behaviour of every one of the miscreants - QPR, Leicester, Wolves, Watford, Bournemouth - that there was "no intention to deliberately mislead", but saved their most damning criticism for DCFC, is the most nauseating aspect of all.
Yet they wondered why Mel Morris decided to find loopholes to exploit????
Bunch of ***** the lot of them.
The greatest triumph for me will be if/when we one day overtake some or all of the clubs who "got away with it".

There is a lot of displeasure on here about James Collins and lack of signing of a striker.
Collins is working really hard and is going through a lean patch as all strikers do and we should give him a break and support him.
We haven't signed a backup striker and are apparently looking at free agents but no-one has pointed out that we had a young striker, Dajaune Brown, on the bench on Monday night who didn't get a kick.
While he may have been making up the numbers, Warner must have had confidence to have him there and he may be a hidden gem who is yet to get a chance.
One is to hope that we are not going back to making mistakes by signing players, spending money on more wages, and blocking the path from the academy as we have done in the past.

Of course we were, they retrospectively changed the rules after we were punished that weren’t actually rules at the time we committed the ‘offences’, and then changed other rules after we were punished in order to allow other clubs to not get punished.
They were able to bully other, smaller clubs into oblivion and tried to do the same to us, but they bit off more than they could chew, making themselves look like the incompetent organisation that they are, in front of the whole country, Parliament etc.
Unfortunately now that the furore has died down they’ve crawled back under their rock, and we’ve got on with our business of playing football again. IMO It would have been nice to have done something on the anniversary of the March to remind everyone of what a useless organisation they are, but in retrospect it’s probably better that we do keep our heads down for a while.
If there’s any good that comes out of our predicament, hopefully it’s that no club will have to go through what we’ve been through, that they should be helping clubs survive when they get into financial trouble and not turning the screw on them like they have done up to now.

Really love this post and you are correct about the cycles of our club. Started going in 83/84 so remember the excitement and fun of the second two but unfortunately not the first but my dad went everywhere. We are overdue and would love it for my boys steadfastly supporting Derby through constant mockery through school. But my sixth former is loving this season and group of players. It feels fun again

It’s been 100 days since this wonderful raggle taggle group of youngsters, aging journeymen and free transfers lost a game of football.
You can’t fail to be proud of how far Clowes, Warne and the players have bought this club so quickly,  after some of the darkest days in the clubs history.
It’d be great to get to 101 days tomorrow and the magic number of 20 games unbeaten. We all know what happened last time we achieved that!
It’s also 112 days since our last home defeat.

As a Vale fan I was gutted after the match but the consensus among our fans was that the best team won. Thought we edged a tetchy first half but after scoring we sat back and invited you on and you duly obliged. Last 20 minutes you looked like a top of the table side. That was the best our goalie has played all season! Unfortunately both our main strikers(Ellison and Wilson)! are out injured so we were VERY limited up front. As for the away following, I thought you lot were superb. Sang loudly all through the match apart from, understandably, the 10 mins after we scored. I've supported Vale since 1969 and think overall that was THE best overall away backing I've heard in that time. You should be proud. That stand you were in has excellent acoustics and will be our home end next season with away fans being housed in the stand opposite you last night. As for on the pitch I'd say, though you only really started playing late on, you were the second best team I've seen at Vale Park this season, with Ipshit being clearly the best. Hope you get promoted with Sjoke City exchanging places with you! Again, great effort by your support last night! Our pitch is s*** but looked like Wembley compared to the old Baseball Ground mud heap of the 70s. Didn't seem to hinder Kevin Hector, Roger Davies or Alan Hinton? too much though.
