Abu Derby reacted to Srg in Summer transfer suggestion thread
Max Lowe is injured more than the players we already have.

Abu Derby got a reaction from uttoxram75 in Best Chant of All Time
One that always amused me was “ He’s fat, he’s round, he’s taking Forest down”.
Think it was old Roy Kinnear, bless him.

Abu Derby got a reaction from scout's dad in Dajaune Brown
I’d be looking at £10,000,000 plus a 75% sell on clause.
He needs to stay here; we need to protect our assets.

That was the worst UK entry in my lifetime…..only could stomach 10 minutes of it last night.

Abu Derby reacted to Fife Ram in Hi from Fife Scotland
Hi new member, all the way up in sunny Fife, just joined today, never really bothered about forums before but feel exciting times are back around the corner for the Rams so here I am to keep up with the news for the new season etc
looking forward to the new season and hopefully end back where the club belongs. If Ipswich can do it then there’s no reason why the Rams can’t.

We also played them at PP in the cup when Terry was having an affair with Wayne Bridges mrs. chant went something like
“Chelsea wherever you may be, don’t leave your wife at home with Terry he likes a sh@g he likes a bit of fluff and he’ll get your mrs up the duff”
he wasn’t a happy bunny…

I knew it wasn't Roy when I first read it, but couldn't remember what it should have been. I was keen to put @Abu Derby right myself! 🤣

A simple chorus of “We are Derby, Super Rams” is very hard to beat

Abu Derby reacted to Ambitious in Summer transfer suggestion thread
Pearce seem to indicate that as part of the 'business plan' set out by Clowes that he was willing to inject roughly £10m of his own cash, well profits from his company per annum, on top of day-to-day spending. I think the operating loss in our first season was roughly £10m and that was anticipated going forward. I don't think promotion changes that approach.
It's absolutely right we aren't going to be back up to a £44m wage budget and £15m net spend anytime soon but I do think that we will see Derby operate comfortably within the Championship in it's current form, i.e. competitive with Bristol, Preston, etc.
We don't really have many saleable assets within our first-team, that's a problem from a transfer-budget POV this summer, but I would encourage the club, should they believe in the recruitment staff they have put in place, to go and find players and invest in them as assets.
As I said, the approach under Mel (in hindsight) was signing experience pros at the top of their ability and giving them 3-4 year contracts. They weren't saleable assets. We never even gave ourselves a chance to recoup costs. I would impose that any players signed on fees have to be younger than 24 - three year contracts as a minimum. If you sign a player for £5m and in a year's time he's not hit the heights, you could still recoup a fee on a 23 year old who has previously shown promise. Difficult when that player is 29 or even 30.

Abu Derby reacted to StaffsRam in Nathaniel Mendez-Laing Silly Season
Really liked the bit in his recent interview where he was asked if he'd found his home at Derby, and he said this was his club. You can look at his career and see how often he's moved around, to the point that despite being here for 2 years he's already played more games for us than anyone else. He seems really settled, probably the most settled at a club he's ever been. Very similar to Curtis Davies really, someone else who eventually found his home here late in his career.

Abu Derby reacted to Red_Dawn in Serial Whingers Notts Forest playtime, which we simply cannot accept.
Don’t be doing that. It has been a tough year for me.
Football is merely a hobby. 22 grown men kicking a bag of wind about. Sometimes that gets put into perspective.

The links have started already, Bosun Lawal who has been on loan at Fleetwood this season. With a name like that, he might be more suited to Portsmouth.

Got to love the 2,000 Norwich fans baiting the home crowd with
"Que sera sera
Whatever will be will be
You're going to Shrewsbury
Que sera sera"
🤣

Abu Derby reacted to Crewton in Birmingham relegated.
They're not in Administration and they've got hugely wealthy owners. They'll survive. When they took the piss out of us, we were on the brink of oblivion and their taunts must have made some of our more vulnerable fans even lousier, so I think we're allowed a bit of schadenfreude at their expense.

I would normally be with you on this. I usually feel some compassion -as we have all been in their shoes. But having been on the train between Derby and Birmingham after the 2022 match with the repugnant BCFC fans, they deserve all they get.

Abu Derby reacted to angieram in Your season in stats
Have you had a personalised email from the Club telling you how many minutes of football you've watched, and various other stats from home and away?
It's a brilliant touch, and a reward for those fans who put in some hard miles.
I won't spoil it for anyone, but read right through to the end!
Here's a snippet from mine. Not bad for saying I cracked an ankle bone and was in a brace for several weeks mid-season.
I'm bet @Foreveram has a better one though.
