Brit Assomballoonga somebody (bloke who may know more than me) name dropped today. Not sure myself. 

A bit surprised at how dismissive some comments are of the rest of the league.
Why will Barnsley (dont expect a points deduction,  just slap on wrist), Bolton, Peterborough (always have the knack of replacing the players they sell) Wycombe be any worse than last season?
Portsmouth (great form at end of last season) and Charlton (got in one of the best strikers in the league according to some on here) always have the potential to be a challenge, then the unknowns of the teams coming down, they have the majority of their squads from last year still don't they? And Reading now allowed to bring players in, plus the promoted teams could get on a roll, winning is a habit so if any of them get a good start who knows?
Who'd have thought Plymouth would have been up there last season? There's always 1 team that surprises, maybe an Oxford or even Burton (they heave been building a decent squad and had a half decent 2nd half of last year).
Of course, don't forget we will be the biggest scalp this season by a mile, no Ipswich or Sheff Wed means everyone will be looking to their games against us as their cup finals and we saw how teams raised their games last year, expect it even more this, along with the potential for unconscious bias from refs overcompensating whilst trying NOT to be swayed by our status and size of crowd.....
I can see the potential for a lot of low scoring attritional games, so it is important we stay behind the team and give them the support they will need to keep going against supposedly inferior opposition,  don't get frustrated,  don't get on their backs and slag off the players and management at the 1st sign of things not going to plan - wishful thinking I know!
But, over the 9 months, I expect us to be top 6, top 2 will depend on how well the others do with everyone elses focus on us (again, remind you of Plymouth going up automatically ahead of Sheff Wed! )

Once he starts banging the goal’s in nobody will give a stuff about the past. 
Similar to Robbie Savage - everybody loved him during his last 2 seasons. 

If we're going for throwback strikers, can you imagine how many goals a fit Sturridge would have gotten in League One?!

Just seen you’ve signed him.
Genuinely wish the lad all the best, shame it didn’t work out for him here he’s been incredibly unfortunate with injuries and then a change of system which didn’t suit him.
Great club for him to join in L1 really and wouldn’t be surprised if we live to regret the decision, but best for all parties as of now.
Hope he does well for you.

Gyökeres
Now thats the sort of scouting and recruitment we need to be doing. Not Gyökeres now, but a player as was 2 years ago when Coventry took him on loan from Brighton and then made him permanent. 
 

Good reminder that Knight is also one of the highest earners. 2M with a sell on fee, Kane Wilson and a good chunk of wage made available with him and Bielik. We’ve had their pants down 

If Paul Warne wants to sign him.
If Billy wants to sign for us.
If a deal could be agreed for just a year deal.
I would be happy.
Not interested what's been said in the past, it's the past and it was said as a Sheffield United/Nottingham Forest player, if he joined Derby he would be a Derby County player.
Wasn't Paul Warne publicly disappointed that Sheffield Wednesday were relegated instead of us? 
Now if he went full Billy Davies and said after scoring a hat trick for us he would prefer it to have been for Forest, then yeah we will have issues.
He's not someone that will be able to play 90 minutes twice a week, he could however play a part and give us a genuine goal threat and allow us to save money for the Championship where we will be in a better position to find a goalscorer that we can build an attack round.

If we are chasing him it suggest to me, no matter who runs our club, owns it, manages it, recruits for, we will never learn...not a single chance he will sign for us. Just a waste of time that could be spent on chasing legitimate targets...
Like Freddy Eastwood, maybe we might finally get him?

It was 2-0 at half time then they put a lot of younger players on. Only what I was told by someone who went. 
 
Typical first pre season game. A win is good in any game. I must say at times I do wonder about some of our fan base. Stood behind the goal next to a bloke and must have been his mum, scooped straight off Skeggy market, absolutely slating every one, hurling abuse at Collins while we were defending a corner, and digging out Warne. Luckily baby pig went and got himself and mummy pig a chip cob and it seemed to quieten them down while they were troughing. Apart when his bottle of Carling fell over, the sheer confusion on his amply round face as he didn’t know whether to sacrifice his beer of stop eating. Luckily Dominoes must have had an offer on at 16:00 as they disappeared at half time. 
 
Decent day out though.
