  1. Hopefully an upturn in converting our many chances, which will spell good news for James Collins.

I think Collins did quite well at Lincoln when we went direct at the end, just had zero support. Be nice to get somebody in that old Bryson role, box to box and feeding off the knock downs at the edge of the area. Hourihane has already shown how lethal he can be there.

  2. Poor nights work from all involved. Outworked, outran, out jumped, out tackled... etc. Until we start matching teams' effort there will be no bouncing back to the Championship any time soon.

Too many nothing performances from Bird and Hourihane now, time for JK to slot in the middle and find another RB. It's a shame to see two talented players get dominated every week by less talented players but they've got to start earning the right to play.

I doubt it'll be back to the drawing board just yet but LR needs to change it up a bit.. performances are going in the wrong direction.

What has happened to Mr Lamb? Saw something on Reddit the other night in the Fantasy Football subreddit, he's not all that. Wasn't sure if that was Reddit being Reddit.

Lamb is fine but he's going to attract a lot more double coverage, like Sunday night, when he's the only starting WR in the team. Gallup hopefully won't be too far off but nobody knows what he's going to be like after the injury. Also have high hopes for Jalen Tolbert but if the coaches don't think he's ready to compete with the likes of Noah Brown, Dennis Houston and Simi Fehoko (exactly, who?) then he can't be upto much yet.

Regardless, with no Dak there's not going to be a lot of production from our WR's. If we go with Cooper Rush it'll be the Zeke and Pollard show I'd imagine.

    It's only a fractured thumb isn't it?

Still looking like after the bye week (9) with the sound of it. Anything is possible in the NFC East but I don't fancy Cooper Rush's chances with a weakened OL and nobody to throw to. Long ol season for us I think.

  5. I've quite enjoyed the summer but do feel like we have got away with a couple of matches thanks to some cracking innings'.

Stokes is obviously leading by example but he's the most annoying to watch IMO - regardless of the match situation his approach is no different. Some really mindbogglingly 'what the hell is he doing' moments. But then we've won all but one so can I complain, really.

    Great????

So not counting yesterday and probably Peterborough I think the performances have been great, very good, dominant - call it what you want. For a thrown together team with a shorter pre-season than every other team we've played, the performances have been impressive. The only thing we've not done is put the ball in the net enough.

To criticise the performances because of Collins' inclusion is way off the mark.

  7. QPR and Birmingham at Pride Park in recent years. 2-0 up to 2-2 both in added time.

Unlike yesterdays opponent, both teams were never in the game in the 90 mins, just absolutely did us in added time. I swear 5 mins added time ended up being about 9 mins in both games too. Pain.

Collins will not be in the starting 11 very soon.

I understand people giving him a chance, and rightly so but our performances won’t be great whilst he’s in the team.

Pretty strange thing to say considering the performances this season have been great (bar yesterday obviously).

  9. Better team won so don't have any complaints with the scoreline but that performance was disappointing.

Underwhelmed by Bird and Hourihane. I thought Bird would be all over this level but was chasing shadows today, same with his older mate in CM. First game I've thought Knight was needed in the middle. Whittaker goal was so lucky but what can you do, gave them a massive lift. Subs killed any hope of seeing it out IMO, first time I've seen LR get it so wrong. Thompson's introduction gave their already dominant midfield the chance to nick all 3 points and they rightly did. Lost any chance of holding the ball up when Collins went off, Plymouth recycled the ball at will.

As long as everyone learns from it at this point in the season I'm not too fussed but a performance like this won't be acceptable in a few months time. Plymouth were a good side, should be up there with us come May.

  10. It's the reward that surviving and pushing on in the PL that entices me (probably most).

I remember a pretty bleak valentines night game away at Leicester a fairly long time ago (Stearman OG and El Hamdaoui scorers for us) where 23000 of us watched two pretty standard, average Championship clubs battle it out. To envisage both clubs' journeys over the next 16 years would be madness at the time. But that's the hope I have even in todays finance-crazy age. No reason that can't happen to us. Away trips all over the continent. League Champions. FA Cup winners. Champions League knockout games at Pride Park.... I'll have some of that please, why not.

Caveat: I'm not expecting this any time soon!

  11. Shocked but not the end of the world. Galvanised a football club on its arse and I'll be ever thankful for his efforts over the past few years. His stock as a manager is extremely high at the moment and would imagine clubs above our new level have been in touch. With an uncertain 'bounce back' year on the cards, this might be the right time for him to look for something new now his mates aren't going to be around and be able to offer certain promises as our new owners.

Positive last 24 hours and whilst this is a kick in the teeth it's not the end of the club. We're starting again either way, why not add a new manager to our wish list.
