Ghost of Clough reacted to Ram-Alf in Kirchner- A risk or a potential reward
Spot on GoC, There's only one poster who saw through all this...yes you've guessed it...Onechop ?, Not because he had insider knowledge, Financial acumen, But because he like me is/was suspicious...fair play to him ?
Too dupe all those he had a better plan than Baldrick, It was so cunning he could convince our outgoing PM that he never told a lie, I feel we have a better future...not necessarily a successful one but a future where fans can hope once more and have an owner that is truly a Life Long Fan ?

Ghost of Clough got a reaction from ck- in Kirchner- A risk or a potential reward
The administrators are legally obliged to accept the best offer for the creditors. The evidence presented to them (the EFL, and other parties) must have shown he had the money. The latest article from Forbes somewhat hints at why the money got held up.
As I told you several times in the past, the financial difference between 25% and 35% was only about £1m. An investor would have been better off investing Y2 and Y3 money into something else and cash in on those investments when Y2 and Y3 instalments were due. They would have made more than just £1m in interest off those investments.
And you rightfully got slated by my for the exact reasons I gave.
Let's not forget well regarded administrators have come out and said they wouldn't have dared touched this case due to the complexities. Sure, Q could have done some things better (a lot better?), but still managed to get us out of admin in around 282 days.
Wigan, with much lower debt and many more saleable assets took 272 days (and several PBs), yet didn't come under anywhere near as much ridicule.
Portsmouth were in admin for 427 days (2012-2013). Trevor Birch was the administrator for that one.

Ghost of Clough got a reaction from Van der MoodHoover in Ryan Glover
I agree. I thought Glover showed more in the Bradford game than Diallo did last night, although possibly down to the whole team performing / not performing. Glover also seemed comfortable on the left which is the weaker side IMO. NML a clear winner for the starting spot on the right at the moment, but Barkhuizen and Knight are also better on that side than the left.

Ghost of Clough reacted to JfR in Serial Whingers Notts Forest playtime, which we simply cannot accept.
Signing an almost 30-year old Jesse Lingard on 180k a week is such an Everton signing that I'm genuinely shocked that it's another club doing it.

I agree with all of that.
NML just looks like he's got the ability to change a game and teams really have to be wary of him. And I'm not sure the same can be said about Barkhuizen or Knight who both are a bit more straight forward to defend against.

I'm still amazed we haven't announced the scholars yet.

Okay, back on track with this thread. Some pearls from Hertha's forum:
- How much does this McGoldrick cost?
- the opponent is third division?
- There is more structure in play with the third division team than with us, or am I getting it wrong?
- If I understood the commentator correctly at the beginning, 3-4 weeks ago they only had 6-7(!) players in the squad because of the bankruptcy and their forced relegation
- We play like a German bar team visiting an English bar team on the island and then we go to the pub together and go home tomorrow with a big head. At least that's how it used to be with us, except that we played a better ball.

I knew I was missing someone. Smith to start, Robinson drops to the bench, Aghatise out of the team

Ghost of Clough got a reaction from angieram in Ali Koiki - Signed for Northampton
With Roberts and hopefully Forsyth battling it out at LB, I doubt we'll see WGP in the first team. Maybe on the bench a couple of times if someone is injured.
The next LB to play for our first team will likely be Moloney once he's recovered from injury. An exciting wing back.
Could possibly see Kei Robinson feature there in a couple of years as a more defensive minded option, typical of a player who is equally as good at LB and CB.

It's essentially the same principle as for U24s.

We have 2 Chester’s? Or is he doing the job if 2 men?

My understanding is, he cancelled his contract under TUPE (so we don't have to pay him anymore), but we still hold his registration for a season (so someone has to pay us to sign him)

Byrne would have had a very good chance to get 15 assists to his name in this team, and go into next season with a reputation as one of the most dangerous RBs in the football league. Could have ran the final year of his extended contract down and moved on with his reputation intact and got a very good wage at his next club.
Instead, he's damaged his reputation on a high risk strategy to earn a little bit more in the short term. Probably the last time he'll be offered a Championship level contract now as well.

1. Announce Roofe on Tuesday when it’s at the height of the heatwave.
2. All eyes turn to Bristol for the inevitable reports of spontaneous human combustion.
