Why on earth do Sky keep referring to Aston Villa v Leicester as a Derby?

Jeff Stelling just mentioned on Sky Sport that a "lesser spotted Will Hughes" had played his first football of the season for Crystal Palace on Tuesday, coming on for the last ten minutes in their 1-0 defeat at Leeds.
Seem to recall that he took a corner

I think I’d just become a Football Fan. Couldn’t support another team, just would try keep watching games with no emotional attachment and spend time with the mrs ?
I always try to contrive some sort of emotional attachment on a game-by-game basis: former Rams I like / dislike, nice colour shirts, once robbed us in a play off final, once sold us Barry Powell etc. So I would probably just carry on doing that.
But it's always a contrivance.

They should judge each case on its merits. Any club trying to pull a stunt may well fail. Is there any evidence that a stunt is being pulled in the case of Derby County? And what is that stunt that you refer to?
It's just my interpretation of not paying tax and then going into administration. An organisation that has not paid tax over a period of time then avoids its responsibility by going into administration. It's a stunt. And a pretty deplorable one at that.

Even 25% is better than nothing. If HMRC playing hardball caused the club to be liquidated, whether as a taxpayer or as Rams fan I would be extremely angry with them . they would be kissing goodbye to the remaining 25% (£7million) as well as any tax on future revenues or expenditure. Plainly that would be bull headed and daft.
Though they might think it worth it to show other clubs that trying to pull the same stunt will fail.

That Kirchner bloke looking a bit of a prat sat there in a Derby coat. He’s not even the owner yet.
Just feels a bit empty. Like a cheap gesture or a gimmick.
All very Michael Knighton

Appleby/rush/moxey blandly led the club before.
They were able to show a total lack of ambition for the club.
There footballing links did not work out fantastically before, Derby were not known as the invincibles (reference one of Arsenal's former great teams) under their tenure.
They hired McClaren, almost got promoted, didn't nearly go bust.

Hmmmm reading between the lines, this confirms that the EFL were blocking progress until we took the penalties.
Also interesting to note that we’ve turned down bids for players. The vultures are circling, but it looks like we have enough funds to beat them off for now/till Jan.
Hehehe... beat them off

No, what the people who set up the petition want is Mel Morris's head on a stick, not "we". There is no "we" in this and the very small number of people who have signed it demonstrates that.
I think the petition says more about those people than it does about Mel Morris and I think the vast majority of us can see that.
If anything it has exposed how ludicrous and over the top some of the criticism is.
Currently 478 people have signed it. That's something like 2% of the average home gate this season. Visualise what that looks like inside Pride Park. You'd barely able to see them from the other end.

Time to resurrect my old thread?
I still think we'd have been up top half challenging if we'd had a decent goal-scorer.
Top of January's shopping list!
I don't think there will be a shopping list in January.

It's bad, yes, but it's a glancing blow. You wouldn't hit the deck like that in our boozer, I can tell you.

As an aside, CKR must be the most annoying player to play against. He just never shuts up.
