The music is rubbish and the whole think is kitschy as hell.
But the city has gone bonkers and has a huge smile on its face.

Can’t say I’ve taken much notice of the Championship this season.
Would be nice to see Coventry back in the top flight. Luton would be interesting too.
A North East derby final could be good to watch, better if Sunderland won it.
Apparently, Newcastle are in London the same weekend as the playoff final, so a North East Derby might be fun

I'm puzzled by the Not my King protesters.
Usually when people protest, there's some kind of point to it. Something that the protester is trying to prevent. Saving a tree, stopping a new road, demanding a new road, wanting a pay rise, whatever. Whether I agree with them or not, or their methods, I do at least understand the protest.
Not my King? Why are you telling me this? Why do you think I, or anyone else needs to know you feel that way?
I may as well wear a tee shirt that says, I don't eat apples.
Are you really puzzled by people protesting against the idea of monarchy?
Blimey

Looking at the replies, some people seem to have taken this seriously.

But wouldn’t you rather create a 100 chances to score a couple of goals compared to creating only 5 chances and scoring no goals?
The proof is in the pudding.
Rosenior’s football was more effective as we took more points against the same opposition. And we looked pretty decent as well.
No - the proof is in the eating

One of the worst decisions I've ever seen
Yeah the decision to pass it back to the keeper was truly awful

I thought it was a joke when I first saw this.
Apparently, they want a chorus of a 'million voices'.
Out of a population of 68 million. They don't even think all the dotty old biddies who dribble over the royal family are going to pledge.

The infrastructure would cost hundreds of billions.
I’m not sure how anyone who isn’t a billionaire would be able to own it. It would need to be funded by private interest, or a state body eg: NASA.
This is why I’m dubious this would ever be an autonomous colony, as the ownership of the land/infrastructure will pollute any autonomy of the colony.
Colonies have a habit of becoming autonomous. The process, however, is often painful.

Oh I could go on!! The days when television was entertaining and we all sat round in the evening with a can of vimto and salted nuts!! The TV was the centre of our room, the fire was lit and the chairs were gathered round to share our favourite shows together. I've missed loads out, but you get the drift!
Quite a lot of that stuff you don't have to miss at all - it still gets shown on those nostalgia channels. Recently I have watched episodes of Randall and Hopkirk, Alias Smith and Jones and Space 1999.

Making dens out of hay bales in the fields then fleeing like rats when the farmer turns up in his tractor.
These we’re the traditional small bales that used to poo out the back of the machine as it went along, not these massive ones they have now.
I sometimes think that the only reason they have those massive ones is to stop kids making dens.

I choose not to engage with you , after yesterdays silly games why would I ? You choose to start a silly game , get all butt hurt when I play back , flounce , then within a couple of posts deny you were even involved as if I magicked you up rather than replied to your posts 🤷🏻♂️
And yet you continue to engage him.

Pounds and farenheit are quaintly old-fashioned, given what is going on here.

I love the dorkiness of those people speaking. Something I can really relate to.
