Without him we are pretty ordinary, to say the least.

I am not aware of any happy clappers but there are a lot of realistic supporters who know the restrictions we are working under and the manager is trying to get them performing to a decent level despite some obvious flaws in the playing staff’s abilities who were cobbled together to just field a side most weeks unlike all the other clubs in the league.

I have seen this season as an opportunity to concentrate on matters on the pitch (good or bad). To be honest all this anti EFL stuff is embarrassing.

It's painful to lots of us. But try a bit of balance, there are times when it seemed we were unfairly treated by the EFL and then there were times when we were treated as could be expected for our transgressions.

Sorry but this is well past it's sell by date, embarrassing now and will do absolutely zilch to lift the players. Can we not just focus on supporting the team rather than sounding like spoilt children every time we don't get a big decision going our way?

Well rubbish drive home in pouring rain, of course today. Been mulling it over and muttering on drive home. Still gobsmacked by that. Just where was the effort at all? Its like a totally different team. I generally dont mention just one player but if James Collins could concentrate on actually playing football and trying to read the game and intentions of team mates and not fouling, gobbing off and narrowly avoiding fights he may offer more

Bar a mad 20 mins I thought the control was pretty much there yesterday. 20 mins under the cosh that all started from individual mistakes.
A call for more possession? 61% is more than enough. Second most in the league yesterday, far more than any of our rivals. Third highest possession in the league overall this year, I don’t think that’s a problem.
Theres no doubt a few are ball bagged but look at the team for what it is. Old men and inconsistent kids. Mistakes will happen and teams will have a period in the ascendancy, we’ve just got to cut out the lapses at the back.

What an afternoon ! Cruising in the first half by playing neat aggressive football, whole team up for it.
1st half Shrews .. big, strong athletic -  fought hard but were out gunned and out skilled.
2nd half multiple errors leading to a goal and 20 minutes of mad house hurried panic, lost our swagger. Fought back but too late.
    Observations
    1) They dealt with Cash .. he starts a lot of our play, winning headers and bringing the ball out but he isn’t a giant .. they had 2 on him in short order. He can cope with one tall effer, but one in his back and one in front of him presents a problem. He still gave a manful performance but was close to being bullied and lucky not to be sent off when it got messy.
    2) Fozzy should have sorted it earlier
    3) A lot of credit to Shrews who never gave up, their pressing was admirable
    4) no credit to the ref who missed numerous infractions and was a fussy sob - I mostly mean hand balls - what the eff was the the Didsy one where the guy literally pulled it out of a neck clinch … and was there a peno in the second half ? Looked like 2 hands on the ball to me ?
    5) Didsy tried to do too much in the 2nd half
    6) peno seemed a bit harsh and shouldn’t detract from a good Rooney performance.
Smith deserved his MOTM, apart from covering defence he played some lovely tight balls on the edge of the box and was nimble footed all over the pitch - great effort . That said, I thought Roberts had a storming game even without a cracking goal.

Sounds almost contradictory to say we played well, but I think we did but got undone by a couple of errors, luck of the bounce and 20 minutes where we allowed ourselves to be rattled by some hard working opponents. Can we have last weeks ref back. Hugely more competent than this one.

As the song goes “My Momma said there’d be days like this” … pick yourselves up, we didn’t lose, we go again COYR
