I assume that when an administrator is formally appointed then the penalty will apply immediately.  The liquidator then can/should appeal it based on covid causes.  Goes to IDC so I can predict this will roll on unless liquidation beats it to the finish line

So, I'd like to think that there's an electrician who won't be getting his invoices paid by DCFC will be changing a light bulb at Mels house for an eye watering amount next week.

I'm afraid all that does is to kick the problem down the road for a while.
Derby County is broken, and Mel is the person solely responsible for breaking it. 

I'll pretend to be one.
He will lease the ground at a disgustingly low price to any buyer and protect the stadium from somebody who might be fine with Derby playing on Alvaston Park.

I may be one of the only people who listened to the radio Derby interview and thought, there's still a chance Mel knows what he is doing. It's a long hard road, but he knows it will end up 'ok'.
That isn't positive, more deluded optimism, but that is all I have.

I bought a Mel Morris fan, and it's useless.

I should have said in A club .. In generic terms I was trying to describe what any particular club might have, that can be quantified. ( as much for my own benefit; amidst all the detailed insider knowledge some people think they have about the inner workings of the clubs finances - aka “SWAGS” .. scientific wild arsed guesses ) Clearly the Ground is under the control of Mel / MSD rather than DCFC - I think that was pretty clear from my earlier meanderings but if you really want to be snotty about it then please carry on.

I am looking to see whether Mel has repaid any of the debt that he owes for the purchase of the stadium from the club

i loved what he said about amortisation, did the work and established that most players do not lose their value in a straightline basis.  We bought senior players and our experience under his tenure is their value depreciated in a vertical straight line.  Businesses should use amortisation based on their corporate knowledge and experience.  What we chose was something that would crucify us in the last year of contracts because to do it any other way would have breached P&S

Wouldn’t that negate the very (very) few positives that admin brings? If Mel was to fund the admin, there would be no point putting us into admin and incurring a 12 point deduction. Also if Mel was funding the admin, any buyers he spoke about would just sit back and let him cover the bills for a few more months. 

It stands to reason that Mel (Gellaw 202) is still paying for the stadium in instalments - there's no way we've received all of the £80m since 2018 and spent it. That's £80m for the stadium, £30m turnover in 18/19, £25m turnover in 19/20 and £15m turnover in 20/21, and combined sales since the end of 17/18 of about £15 (£165m total)
Those outstanding instalments will therefore likely be the club's biggest source of income for the next few months, unless we ask for an advance from the EFL (up to £6m PL funding). Without that money, the club folds, which is in no one's best interests, including MSD.
