Silly season is here and I'm all for it!

This one though stinks of agent talk. The guy only scored 5 in 15 in the SPFL. 2 goals in his first dozen games before hitting a bit of form in the last three matches too.

He certainly has a fascinating story: he came over to the UK from Gambia to have a trial with an unknown Championship side. Covid put a stop to that and he ended up playing for Warrington Ryland in the dog and duck league. Presumably did well, although hard to find any figures, picked up by St Johnstone despite interest from League’s one and two and hit the ground running while presumably getting used to the pace and lifestyle of professional football.

To go from playing for Warrington Ryland to potentially playing infront of 30,000 in less than a calendar year would be some story. You do have to wonder if there is any truth in Middlesbrough and Burnley (favourites for promotion) and us all being in a bidding war for a 25 year old striker with half a season in professional football — or whether it’s a newly appointed agent trying to drum up interest for his client who fancies himself a move to the Championship.

15 goals in 12 games for Warrington, including 2 against both Matlock and Macclesfield, as well as goals against Ilkeston and FC Utd of Manchester... for a bit of context of level.

Prior to that, he had half a season at Cheadle Heath Nomads and scored 20 goals.

For what it's worth his agent (Willie Mackay) is also the same person as Emiliano Sala

And St Johnstone probably on a par with small League 2 teams….Colchester for example….

So what you're saying is let's pick him up in a Vauxhall Zafira and not a plane?

None of us can really judge but isn’t this what trying to find lower league gems really means. It’s that leap of faith isn’t it ?

Has he got a touch (That’s the killer ) Then has he got some pace ?

The rest can be coached

Interesting. If he’s big strong and quick , I’d take a gamble if the price is right. Even if it’s just a back up striker till dajuane brown has had enough time to play men’s football

Big? He’s like 5ft 8.
