Derby V Burton match day thread

Great run by NML, looked rapid. Slightly scuffed shot that Barks can't react to the save quickly enough.

Then we press and break only for Barks to try and turn inside when there was a clear shot on his left foot he didn't fancy.

Dominating the game. Need a goal.

We're playing pretty well, but not with the necessary intensity. Elder looks a bit of a weak link - the only time we've been trouble was when he didn't want to take responsibility and bring the ball forward, instead panicking and playing it between three Derby defenders to a Burton forward who should have taken the ball through on goal. We were under pressure for a couple of minutes.

Barks scores!!!

John-Jules is combining really well with Mendez-Laing (is it their shared double barrels?). Earlier TJJ put NML through for a powerful run and strong shot, saved with the rebound falling to Barks but he missed his kick when he should have scored. This time again TJJ set NML away and Barks finished at the far post.

Before a good freekick from Hourihane was headed over by Nelson who probably should have scored.

Now we have scored, the players immediately seem to be playing with more freedom.

Well-deserved lead. We've done well finding space and there should hopefully be even more now that Burton will have to be a little more expansive, not that they've exactly "parked the bus" so far though. A second before HT would be lovely.
