Forest spending £60m already on just four players is crazy.

The gap between them and say Southampton in squad quality is massive, let alone between them and the likes of City and Liverpool.

It’s been close for a while. But this is the year all three promoted clubs go down, and probably replaces the three clubs who were in the PL in either of the last two seasons (basically three of Norwich, Watford, Burnley and West Brom).

it will go one of two ways for them, they will flop or thrive but they are spending it on younger players and they are being ambitious which is more than what can be said for those other clubs you mentioned.  that can of course bite you on the bum if you buy a load of duds.

but there is no chance they can just throw a bunch of players together and expect them to work like they did last season . bournemouth will go down they just seem to be signing free transfers which is  more crazy. fulham have a squad of players that have been relegated 3 times.

The only player they’ve added so far that I think right now is a good signing is Dean Henderson. Massive upgrade on Samba, even though Henderson is just a loan.

The others could be good, but if they’re not, it’s a bit late. It’s a little bit of a Fulham vibe when they last came up, except Fulham had a good squad to build on. Forest barely had a squad to build on as most of the key players went back to their parent clubs.

Even with Henderson, it’s going to be a big ask. England’s top two keepers are Pickford and Ramsdale. Pickford has been relegated with Sunderland and nearly went down with Everton. Ramsdale went down with Sheff Utd and Bournemouth. A good keeper in the PL won’t make a huge difference if what is in front of him isn’t good enough.

Also think the Neco Williams move is strange. Unproven and probably overpaying. Spence is going to Spurs for the same figure, so I assume Williams is the back up choice because they couldn’t get him.

On 8 October 2019, Henderson was called up to the senior England squad for the first time by manager Gareth Southgate as a replacement for the injured Tom Heaton. He made his debut on 12 November 2020 when he came on at half time to replace Nick Pope in a 3–0 win over the Republic of Ireland in a friendly.

Hello

Fielding received his first England call-up on 10 August 2010 for the friendly against Hungary, after Ben Foster withdrew from the squad. England won the match 2–1, with Fielding an unused substitute

In all fairness he was decent for Sheff Utd but he hasn't kicked on.  I guarantee they buy 8 players and 4/5 will be decent and 3 will be pants.   Bit like the ones were bringing in except ours are free.  Way it goes.  If the two they've spent 35 million on are pants, that's quite an issue.  You'll find they'll sign some geezer on a free and he'll turn out to be the best player.

That's the problem with the top league now, you got to spend close to 100m in the hope of finishing 4th from bottom. And then you're in a loop of spending big just to keep it up. It's not about trophies anymore, the top 4 have got that covered.

So when people say that reaching the Premier league is "worth 100m plus" they don't mean for the club, if they've got to piss it all away on a few players nobody's ever heard of, but who "might" keep them up... ?

Red dog reserves from last season mainly - which means they haven’t shifted them - the wage bill will be starting to fly up whilst hardly any are leaving

Wage bill doesnt really matter for them now unless maranakis runs out of money. They wont be in danger of breaching ffp in the prem.

The contracts will last longer then their time in the premiership

They have a 24 man first team squad according to Transfermarkt, 19 of them played (including all four of their new signings)

McKenna, Laryea, Arter, Johnson and Surridge being the ones to not play.

Yes which again doesn't matter. They will have plenty of parachute money when they come down and hence plenty of time to offload said players to Olympiakos or any other team that wants them if they need to. The relegated teams also have a higher FFP threshold, so they won't have any issues.

Fair play to Rooney for finding a new club. Massive opportunity at DC United and let’s be honest, bit of a step up from Derby?

Also, can’t get them relegated? Massive win.
