Looked after his family. Hasn't played a game of first team football for two years. Will he regret this in later life?

A couple of years on good money at a Premier League winning team where's he's universally loved, at the end of a distinguished career.

I doubt he'll regret it for a second.

Posts picture from Dubai where he is training with the Premier League champions, apparently extremely well respected, and mixing regularly with some of the best players in the world.

Hey, he could be scrapping it out at a club under transfer embargo and in the middle of a meltdown of Bolton style proportions, getting abused by some drunken woman outside a casino in Derby.

Oh where did it all go wrong Scott?

I think he's got it right. At the end of the day football is just his job, and while its most men's dream to be a professional footballer, he's been there and done it on the pitch. He's now being paid probably the same as he was paid at Derby, is free from criticism and is constantly surrounded by positivity. That can't be a bad life at all.
